I really don't think he was trying to push your buttons. I think we had unfortunate scheduling. As stated, we were only going to have one combat encounter anyways.

I know you're bright and wide awake at midnight on a Sunday/Monday morning, but all of us either have work or are trying to not die of COVID/Flu. You are awake when we are asleep, and apparently asleep when all of us think we finally have everyone together. That's not Posey's fault.

Spoilered
Its the wee hours of the morning, so no one is going to object if I filibuster a bit more, yes?

Here's what really pisses me off about Sunday, aside from simply that I was rendered ultimately not able to play at all this weekend.
The following is a mild and minimally shameless glazing.

One of the best things about this game beyond most Ive experienced is the descriptions. The transitional moments where action or new propmts emerge, shifting the scene to a slightly new context in sequence.
GM does a better job at it than most, and I can point to where he isn't just visualizing in his head; he is drawing from personal experience and research when he describes intricate building structures. He applies his people-watching in how he describes casual pony behaviors. The airplane sequences are based off first hand visuals and skylines.
Theres alot of love he puts into the game, and all of us know it. And yeah, hes been doing it for 6 years now. Fucking incredible. I'm probably the last person who should be talking about gratitude. I'll shut up now.
ISTFG if another session gets ruined,... ill cry, but Ill act really angry on the internet

Not referencing this post, just activating the (you).
I'm largely retiring Brie after this mission, except as a possible RP fixture (like Addy was in the intro/briefing). Lacey will be my exclusive player. He will still be 'there' in a 'physical'/interactive sense, and will be present largely at Lacey's bar if and when that gets established/developed. In story/context, it could be situated/developed that Brie might be a stakeholder in the business, allowing for a more direct (but no less subtly-adversarial/competitive) relationship.
Whatever the case, Brie is not going to be going on any more missions.

>The sent and deleted posts regarding Posey's player
I'm not here to tell you off (I don't feel that I understand the situation to, in goof faith, give my opinion on it honestly.) but I want to give you my perspective. When you post critique of another player, kinda don't let, up and they don't respond; (Again, you might be right here for all I know.) you come off as the one causing trouble.

What I'm trying to say here is that my suggestion is that, since you clearly have some issue with Poesy's player's behavior, you should definitely bring it up. It's good to air our feelings, I think. However, you should probably approach it in a more formal-ish manner. In practical terms, my idea would be that you write all your issues into one or (2-3) posts that you have with Poesy's player and post it/them.

But maybe you have already done that. So yeah, maybe your posting like this because you have tried everything else already. However, what you're currently doing is having the opposite effect of you intent. Like, you might be absolutely in the right for all I know, but even I find it kinda, well not annoying but a bit like you're ruining the cozy atmosphere by your critical posts meanwhile, all Poesy has done today is fun post about her pc dancing. This dance might have some implications and so on but you see what I'm getting at.

The thing about collaborative storytelling, especially in a format like this where the players never see or hear one another or even see when one another is typing, is that it forcibly restricts all the other senses, causing the brain to hyperfocus on the words and description. This causes a MUCH greater level of imaginitive immersion, a literal waking dreamstate.
And yes, in the right context means positive generation of ALL the best brain chemicals: Endorphins, Dopamine, Serotonin, and Oxytocin. It is naturally and productively addicting, because it excites the brain in all the ways we are wired to thrive under as social animals.
It is therefore doubly important that players exercise care in what they say. In that there's no body language, tone of voice, or any of that, the brain has to race to ascertain what was just said. And since players and GM are all trying to be as quick and efficient as possible, the best way to do that is to mentally let down the safeguards and mental protections necessary to insulate one's self in greater society.
So when everyone has their walls down, and is grinding in their mind to process, assess, and quickly respond to one another, an offhand shitty comment is like a virus to a computer with no firewall. Yes, it can be repaired (maybe, depending), but that comes after the sometimes lengthy frustration of scrubbing, restoring, etc.
Im just as guilty as anyone, this isnt accusatory. These games require a level of trust, and I get that I have given players reason to not trust me, which is why I'm making arrangements so that that wont be an issue. Y'all got along perfectly well before I showed back up, and I dont want anyone to lose that regardless of my personal feelings/impressions.

Doubly so because we are autists who don't get much of this excitement normally ^.^
>So when everyone has their walls down, and is grinding in their mind to process, assess, and quickly respond to one another, an offhand shitty comment is like a virus to a computer with no firewall.
Ain't that the truth. It's very easy to unwittingly give offense, and with thousands of replies posted with urgency to keep the game going it's bound to happen.
>Y'all got along perfectly well before I showed back up, and I dont want anyone to lose that regardless of my personal feelings/impressions.
I hope you don't leave the game. Drama aside, you have been fun to have around and you have been here from the very start of the campaign. Before you rejoined I had been asking GM Pone for months if you were coming back because it feels like the game is missing something with your absence. Plus, who would be the party rogue?

The biggest problem with Brie is, he was designed as a character when I was probably at my greatest stage of 'unwell'. He wasn't designed to be played 'right', he wad intended to be a vehicle for me to express my contempt and frustration for the world. DnD is inherently psychological. For this reason, Brie will be effectively retired (assuming he survives) at the end of this mission, as far as engagjng in combat or non-story/rp purposes (open to exceptions, if GM gets an appealing scenario jn mind). No, Lacey is far better for everyone, because her game is finding a way where everyone wins/profits. She can stab, theres a family tradition, but its far better to prosper and make mlney, isnt it?

Sorry, geeking
This is the nature of the existing tension between Lacey and Brie, is shes ALWAYS willing to renegotiate for better and more amenable terms of a developing agreement, especially if it avoids unnecessary bloodshed. Brie however is blood first, then check IDs.
For Brie, she's at times unreliable and inconsistent. For Lacey, Brie is hard-nosed and uncompromising. If Brie survives, hes coming out of this very different, and I think some sort of (mildly contrived) scenario where he is taking a step back and maybe help.manage Lacey's agendas will be good for both characters, as well as all participants/GM

I'll stop after this, I promise.

The thing that compels me about Lacey as a character is that her whole shtick is about making the best of a 'bad hand', but not in a tactical sense. Shes designed to have better assassin_rogue sneak-sploits than Brie, but thats her LAST move, as opposed to her first.
One of my top 3 alltime RP moments was in that first mission in the burning warehouse, where Brie (in character AND out) dared a griffon/GM to try and kill him, not even using a dodge action cuz it was new again and I had forgotten alot of things. The dice said no, the griffon missed, and then the dice said yes, Brie grts a nat 20 on both thrown daggers, described as embedding in the eyes of the opponent.
That was fine then. But aside from the face stabbing earlier, I dont want to ideate toward that mentality, and while "reforming Brie" is a good start, putting him on the backburner even if only temporary seems the best course of action.
Y'all have already been more than patient with my shit. Lacey wont bite if petted, thouch she might still pull a cautionary blade.

What about this idea:

Name: Kuiniu

Sex: Male

Race: Noble Yak (Half-Minotaur, half-ogre, Primordial Lesser D'hin'ni; LA total +2, which is equal to winged creature)

Class: Sha'ir (Yak Shaman, Genie Consuktant)

Alignment: Neutral, maybe Neutral Evil

Personality: As bullheaded as most Yak are, but also quite persuasive

Profession: Diplomat, Shaman

Goals: To establish the newly independent New Mareland as an ally of Yakistan (since Equestria was an ally)

Role: Party face, buffer, battlefield control, ranged spellstriker

Build: Diplomancer, caster

Strength: versatile with blessings of his ancestors

Weaknesses: despite size and fearsome attitude, is low HP and generally helpless in melee combat

Virtues: Keeps promises, supportive of friends

Flaws: Yak

Inspiration: Show, D&D Yakfolk lore, Asian History

Should I even bother making this sheet?

Cavaliere was approved, actually suggested, because of the very simple reason that I wanted more players to join the main quest, but he refused to send Amber (believing it was not consistent with her character). So I had him make a new character who would go.

Kubana Kirafiki was proposed in passing, then we talked about it for what was probably two months, coming up with details of lamia culture, lamia biology, and details about the character. We planned out how she would be introduced in Baltimare and much of her first day. I like lamias, and it helped that she was to be introduced along an NPC companion whom I could use to make jokes about vore, and also was just a fun character. Kira is also an easily likeable character, being bubbly, nice, and fun to have every NPC run from in unintended terror. I think you can see we did not over complicate the character sheet or make her exceptionally powerful.

>>185649
What does "Should I even bother making this sheet?" mean? I was under the impression you like to make sheets just because it's a fun little minigame. Are you asking if the character is guaranteed to be approved? Well no, I wouldn't approve any character without seeing a sheet first anyways.

I don't see any serious problems, although I will say that the alignment of "evil" and to a lesser extent, "neutral" is a nebulous term behind which much annoying behavior hides. Also note that Minotaurs are a thing in the show and EAW.

Posey is a mutant, a zombie, and a masochist, and for her dislocating her joints or dismembering herself is just a mild inconvenience.
She practices yoga to keep her undead body beautiful.
I got the idea from the Nazi zombie contortionist in the Hellboy movie.
When I wrote Posey, her enhanced Dex was 20. Her current Dex is 16, which would still be considered superhuman (10 being average).
