>>182481If you're going unarmed combat, I'd recommend two weapon fighting feats, or weapon focus, or weapon specialization.
Nice sheet!
>>182480>Ah, I thought they just finish it off when it was weakened after a fight. That's a valid interpretation as well. The point was that the leviathan isn't easy to kill and the POV character thought the source of the claim was unreliable.
>NotedUh... well it isn't canon...
>>182485Mhmmm
There there, she still leads in Domestic Violence >>182500>The point was that the leviathan isn't easy to kill and the POV character thought the source of the claim was unreliable.Yeah, a monster that eats kraken for breakfast isn't going to be filled by some chump whalers at it's full strength.
>Uh... well it isn't canon...Awww
>she still leads in Domestic ViolenceI gotta up my game then.
>>182500Monk grants binus 2-weapon fighting (unarmed cuz martial). 2nd level monk gets combat reflexes or deflect arrows. No way ur skills are right. Monk gets 4s in a bunch of skills u have unlisted. Hide, sneak, etc.
Ur close, but ur not as cool yet
>>182505Are those free skills you get when putting one level into monk, or only when you start out as monk at first character level?
>>182508Depends on the character and story tbh. Idylically, any class bonuses could be applied if they fit the character narrative
>>182508You get ×4 skills at lvl 1 of your first class.
>>182514>8 intStill, lotsa feets to decide yet :3
>>182514I forgot. When I get to level 6 and if I upgrade int so I get another +1 bonus, does that +1 bonus apply to skill points obtained at level 6?
>>182518Yes, but you should be upgrading your primary stat instead.
Its not too.late to put the 8 stat into cha, avoiding skill point penalties cuz int.
>>182520Cavaliere's dexterity is 17-1, for an effective score of 16 and a modifier of +3. If I upgraded that he would still get only a +3 modifier
unless if he found a way to reverse age like Silver. His intelligence is 14+1 for an effective score of 15 and a modifier of +2. Assuming middle age doesn't get removed, isn't it just better to increase a stat's modifier compared to increasing a stat without changing the modifier?
>>182525Can't you upgrade from 17 to 18?
>>182526I can but his effective score will still be 17 which is +3, because I take into account age modifiers.
>>182534Idk what to say then, but I would strongly recommend focusing on your primary stat. You only get so many ability boosts.
>>182537In the long-term I would agree but does the long-term include level 9? Took us long enough to get to 6 from 5. It's a difficult question to answer.
>>182539Idk, I entered this game thinking I would be at lvl 8 by now.
If I can't get to lvl 8, my dreams of playing a Necromancer with Animate Dead turn to dust.....
>>182540Is your character 'not enough' if they DON'T?
>>182541In her mind, yes.
In my mind, well, I really would like to cast Animate Dead. I'm not much of a Necromancer without that spell.
>>182543I see...
The last reply to Dark Star is
>>182522 → As unrelated to anything as anything could get,....
If anypony can make one of those fancy knife belts where the knives automatically bamf back to the knife belts, Brie will have alot of money for you (so he can stop having to replace his masterwork throwers EEEEEEEEEE)
Or a Bracers of Endless Daggers like Jarlaxle has (can draw 2 +2 daggers per round, that evaporate at the end of the round)
>>182561Could work as altered Gloves of Endless Javelins. I had a set of those as a key factor of my Zeus-themed Cleric build.
They're part of the Manticore Array.
+2 enhancement bonus would be a lot though. Gloves Of Endless Javelins create force Javelins with no enhancement bonus. Adding +2 enhancement would quadruple the price.
You sure you don't just want a +1 returning dagger (baterang)?
>>182562The bracers first appeared in Forgotten Realms (in novel, the daggers can extend into a pair of +2 sabres that can be maintained/dismissed at will), and could be reskinned as gloves, a bandolier, a belt, etc. That or the Belt of Returning/Blinkback Belt (also reskinnable) are really nice for not having to keep track of where the f#%^ing things landed
>>182563>+1 BatarangI mean,... that would be a chaotic element,... could probably get a bonus on my bluff/feint checks to take away dex bonus,....
I do
now,....
>>182564Considering a normal +2 dagger would cost over 8k, the bracers might be a bit outside your budget for this level.
Let me see if I can research something more affordable.
One perk of crafting: you can get items earlier. I always run Artificers with Extraordinary Artisan and Magical Artisan, to quarter the price.
>>182565You could probably barter one of your +2 weapons for a +1 returning weapon, for an additional trade fee. A +1 returning weapon costs the same as a +2 weapon.
>>182566>+2 is too muchOne can dream
>+2 weaponsAll of Brie's weapons are +1. He gave the +2 short sword to Mala (btw, he dropped it to show it wasnt cursed)
>>182567..... Why did you give your most expensive item to an NPC who is lower level than you?
It's generous, but he would have been fine.
Not criticizing, just wondering why?
>>182568Honestly, for thematics more than anything.
Advanced Dagger Mastery is worded such that it could be said to apply to short swords (it says daggers and dagger-like) so he could have kept/used it maybe. However, I like/want the aesthetic of matching fighting blades even though he never fights double-hooved (well, gun in one hoof maybe). Plus it was more of a Gladius shape, where I'm leaning into the Kiria/japanese aesthetics and theme.
Also it was a way of incentivizing GM to give me something cool for my magnanimity :3
Fuck. Out loud? Again?
Brie is not a klepto-style rogue, and only carries what he will use in the conceivable future. He went to the meeting at customs unarmed (except the teapot, it can be used as an improvised ceramic club)
>rogues can only sneak attack when they can see the opponent sufficient to hit vital areas
Oh dear, that kind of rules out my smoke bomb method. I wonder if GM will let me argue for doing a sneak attack while engaged in a grapple, if blinded (with all the applicable penalties, of course)
>>182570>smoke bomb methodAcquire Blindsight.
You could gain it through feats, through the Sublime Way, through items, or through d20 modern mutations (the Echolocator mutation).
It makes sense for a bat to have echolocation anyway
>>182571Yeah, thats next on his to-do list, however. Maybe he could get his visor enchanted,... blindsight is only 5' so it wouldnt be full on night vis, just enough to stabby stab in concealment/blinded
>>182568Also to the why, cuz Mala is the party doggo, and doggos deserve nice things. He had a mundane scimitar (same damage, but heavier), so I thought he could benefit most (it was a toss-up between him and Kira, and Im not sure what style weapons Kira uses)
>>182573You could also use Eggshell Grenades (Dust). They're cheaper than smokesticks (10 gp vs 20 gp). A direct touch attack with them blinds that target for 1d4 rounds (no save), and creatures within 5' of the target make a DC 10 Fortitude save or be blinded for 1 round.
Posey has a couple. I'll give them to you. They're better off in the hands of a sneak attacker anyway (they were made for Rogues and Ninja in Oriental Adventures).
They require a DC 20 alchemy check to craft though.
>>182575>no saveIdk how I feel about that, it should at least have an attack penalty since its a called shot to the face
>>182576>penaltyMaybe a touch attack at a -4 penalty, like the Blinding Spittle Spell (Druid 2).
Blinding Spittle Blinds the target until they find water to wash their eyes, but it also costs a spell slot.
>>182578Good marketing
Fun fact, the technical term for the dialect in use by the Donkeys is called "Asinine"
>>182504>>182505Thank you. I thought the Barbarian starting pack got a lot of skills when I calculated it so I was suspecting something was amiss but didn't realize it. Also, didn't read the description on what bonus feat meant.
>>182594Yw. Also, dont neglect the monk bonus feats:
1st level: Improved Grapple or Stunning Fist
2nd level: Combat Reflexes.
You can take deflect arrows instead, but why?
>>182595There's a lot more feats available than that.
>>182596U know me, I default to the PHB. Not a criticism, just that the two choices are whats listed for bomus feats for a 1st and 2nd level monk
>>182600Monk levels can be useful for a lot of builds, but PHB only Monk really suffers.
>>182605Fair. But HP isnt the only way to kill, and monks can kill with allowances
>>182606>monks can kill with allowancesThey can do so better with sources printed after the complete warrior.
Idk, Monk Builds have always been gimmicky for me.
