K. Torcuil, the field isn't "just" a normal magic field, several ppl have went together to put it in place. Previous attempts to dispel were unsuccessful.

The party's explorational period and general poking around is accentuated (cut off?) by 14 rapid-fire thuds which explode from the side of the vessel, which is still a good way away thanks to this fucking field.
