Set six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where the Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures because of their encounters with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.
The long train ride from Baltimare to Bales has been interrupted by a group of partisan fighters, claiming to be looking for none other than Pinkie Pie, who has been kept prisoner since the end of the war. They don't seem to have found their prize, but they do seem to have found a very pissed off Brie, Onyx, and Spark, as well as another Bat Pony, and both groups have been interrupted by a new set of intruders. In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, and Iron await a new and uncertain dawn.

You sound displeased, but there's genuinely nothing else that Silver can do with the catacombs. He's searched the whole area already, he lacks any sort of weapon to effectively deal with the high-AC ghasts, and most anything he does on his own will likely get him killed.

As Iron nears, it looks like there is a clearing before the temple - assuming this is indeed a temple, and not a rock formation, although the top looks a little too flat, and the sides and corners too square for that. The temple is to the right, and to the left is one tent. There do indeed appear to be a trio of ponies by it, two standing and looking at the third, whose head is propped up on a crate as he lay on his back.

The purpose originally was to be cash reward upon clearing the catacombs from the original quest giver. No one seems to want to do that. And no one looked to requisition special weapons or explosives for the task, just... I know this is my fault, but goddamn does it damped my enthusiasm

To be completely fair, rolling to confirm attack as well as to hit to hit a 21 DC monster will definitely spook the newbies.

I'm right with you, there. I hate leaving things unfinished like that. If Silver had those SMGs in working order and even just one other player in case of Fort save failure, I would send him in, but half the party is halfway across the state, Iron is in the middle of his own thing, and Star doesn't seem interested at all.
As far as special weapons and explosives go...I mean, I'm not sure how any of us would even go about acquiring those, or where to start, much less paying for all of it without spending more money than the job would provide. You also seem very adamant in no player having access to SMGs in any circumstance, but that's a whole different thing.
