Set six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where the Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures thank to their dealing with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.
Half of the party - Brie, Onyx, and Spark - are on a train to far off Bales to try to cross the border into the Changeling Lands. the other half remains in Baltimare, where Silver is searching catacombs seeking books filled with long buried dark secrets, Dark Star is having luck with his marefriend, and Iron aiding in trafficking exotic animals

>>94624Iron trots along with her, making sure to stay at her side.
"Do not worry. We can always go back if you feel cold."
>>94625She rolls her eyes, then around to Iron
"I am more worried about you, jungle boy"
>>94624Dark Star Grabs blue's hoof and walks over to the dart stand
"You ever play darts before?"
>>94626Iron tilts his head slightly.
"If I can handle a tiger, I can also handle a mere breeze."
>>94625"Not as a game, no"
>>94628She gives a 'really" expression accompanied by a smirk
"Looks more like the tiger handled
you. Wear a coat before you catch a cold or something worse"
>>94629"When have you throw darts then?"
>>94629Iron chuckles.
"Alright, fine. You got me there. What do you suggest?"
>>94630"Military training" she gives her smile
"To plant a javelin - or a knife or dart, if you are being subtle - right into the back of a helot's skull or a griffin's chest"
>>94631She places her hoof to her mouth in a damned near contemplative expression, and says "Let me see"
She opens a closet, pours through a number of items of clothing, and comes upon a sort of mauve caparison that is sort of small and sort of feminine
"I'm thinking this one"
>>94632Iron's left ear folds as he cocks his head.
"That seems rather small. Are you sure that will fit me? I do not want to make a tear or something, especially if it is yours."
Silver seems to be Kill again
F
>>94633"Hmmm.... No. No, I think it will fit just well on you. Fit you even better than Tiger handler"
>>94634Iron chuckles.
"Alright. I will trust you."
He picks it up, inspecting it carefully.
"How do I put this on?"
>>94634Not quite kill. Just bathroom troubles.>>94624This will work. And thus, Silver begins to cook himself some delicious baked beans. As he stirs them in the pan, his mind travels back to during the War. He's fairly certain the majority of his diet at that time consisted of beans. They're pretty easy to cook on a campfire, provided you have a pan, and something to set the pan on.
>>94632Dark Star's expression Changes to one of Genuine interest, like he's longing to know more, not just more about the question but more about Blue as a Pony
Person"Wow,you really are incredible. Did you get to do that? Did they scream? What was it like?"
>>94636Well... At least there's a stove to set the pan on. It's pretty cold in this room
That sounds unpleasant anyways>>94635With a smile, she says
"Just put your neck through that hole there" making gestures with her hooves" and the rest just sort of lays on you back"
>>94637She moves back and does an expression as if to bask in the compliment, a sort of "damn right I am incredible," and after a malign giggle, she says "It was the training they give to all of the future citizens. I didn't fight any griffins with darts, and only had encounters with a few helots in the Crypteia"
>>94638Silver is thankful he has a thick winter coat to keep him from feeling cold while he waits for his beans to cook.
Must be she keeps heat off in room while she is gone. >>94638Iron does as instructed, placing his head through the hole and letting the rest fall down on his coat.
He inspects himself for a bit, then turns to Cauldron.
"How do I look?"
>>94638"Oh well, maybe you'll get a chance to stick one later. I love watching you work."
>>94640It's knitted, muave, and while it streches to Iron, is still kind of small
".... Bwhahahaha!"
>>94641She gives that smile, moves forward, then walks past Dark Star, rubbing her tail against Dark Star's muzzle in a kind of seductive way.
"You should have seen me in Zaphia, or even in my time here. I just don't use darts. Maybe you'll get to see me work later"
>>94639Damn poofy winter unicorns. Oh well. What shall he do in the meantime?
>>94642Iron's head cocks to the side yet again, a bit confused at Cauldron's laughing.
He looks down at himself with the piece of clothing.
"It seems like it does not fit my body well, judging from your laugh."
>>94643She gets back up
"Oh no, you're fine. Shall we go?"
>>94642Dark Star smiles a Confident smile
he also trys to keep it in his sheath"I'm sure i will, and i'll love every second of it. I'm no slouch myself though."
He playfully Nibbles at her tail and eyes her flank
Then he steps up to the Stand
>>94644Iron blinks once, then tries jogging in place to see if it encumbers him due to it not being made for his size.
"Let me try if I can move in this thing."
He starts jogging in circles to test the piece of clothing.
>>94645She flinches with an 'ooh' at the butt nibble, then moves to the side
"One game, and darts or air gun?" the attendant pony asks
>>94646It's flexible enough to move around
>>94647Iron shrugs, thinking nothing of it.
"Well, this should suffice. Shall we go?"
>>94649Iron's jogs his way towards the exit door.
"You can decide our pace. I can handle it."
>>94650She asks
"What do you want exactly?"
>>94642Well, he might as well should sit down. It's gonna be a bit. His mind is allowed to wander some while he waits. And the first subject it touches is this job he's been given by Blue.
This mission is...surprisingly hazardous, now that he thinks on it, not that it'll deter him from seeing it through. One wrong move, one second too long spent in those catacombs, one ghast bumping into either him or his cart...and he's done for. Silver touches the bandages wrapped around his neck, the brief bit of pain from the contact causing him to withdraw his hoof with a sharp gasp. It's most definitely not healed yet. Not for a while. He lost a lot of blood, too, in between getting injured and fixing himself up. If he has to fight even a single ghast...well, he might end up reuniting with Storm, after all, along with whoever else is dead in his family. It's not like he fears dying in and of itself: he's lived his life well. But...all of those regrets, those words left unspoken? Rest in the afterlife will seem such a difficult goal to reach, should he perish before settling things in life. He wonders if anypony will bother to look for him in the catacombs, if he dies on this mission, or if his body even be found in the first place.
Sigh...Once again, he pulls out the pictures of his old family he managed to save. He touches them with a forehoof, placing it over the ponies they hold. Those he has and continues to care about. In particular, he focuses on those of his three foals: Silver Rain, Spectral Streak, and White Light. It's been years since he's seen any of them. He hasn't seen Rain since he turned 18. And while Spec and White would send the occasional letter, their work has kept them from visiting, not since the last time in 1000, to celebrate the new millennium. He still doesn't blame them for it, but it doesn't change that fact that he misses them. He wants to make peace with them, and tell them all he wants to say, while he still has the chance.
Please, Celestia, let them be alright...see me through this, so that I might reunite with them someday...please...He looks back into the pocket that contained the photos, at the last item he's kept in there. A letter from Silver Rain, one of the few things he recovered from his home before he made the trek to Baltimare. He's read it before a couple of times, and while he wishes to read it again, while he feels it's almost his duty to read it again...he's not sure he wants to hurt like he did when he read it previously.
>>94651"I want to spend the excess energy from our dancing session, as well as give out a little tour of any sort of spots you like around here. Simple things like restaurants to more... secret places like that one pony that treated my wounds after our first job."
>>94647"darts my good stallion."
Dark star looks back at Blue and gives her a wink
>>94653"I'll see what I can do" she says, and proceeds down a simple street way with two and three story brick apartments to either side
>>94654Roll 3d20
>>94652There's a slight sound of a commerical something droning down stairs - probably a refrigeration unit - but it's basically quiet, and rather chilly too.
Blue Skies is kind of messy in the room, come to think of it, with items still spread as they were before
>>94655Iron follows along as she does, awaiting to start the jog. Be it running around Cauldron in circles or keeping up with her pace if she goes fast enough.
[3d20 = 41]>>94656She trots at a brisk pace - definitely not a jog
"I live in this area. It's okay I guess. Just keep your doors locked at night, and don't leave carts outside"
>>94657"Now let me try"
And she does so
>>94658>>94657With a similar, but subtly better performance by Skies, she wins the bear, which she cuddles in her hooves and looks on with that smile
>>94655Like before, it seems very much like Blue Skies in this room. Best not to do anything about it, no matter how much he might want to. Blue probably has some sort of system going on here, even if everything seems messy. Best to keep it that way until he hears otherwise.
He pulls the letter out, not yet opening it for the mental debate raging on in his mind. He does note how he always has thought it weird that Rain managed to find a place to both live
and work on the Las Pegasus Strip. He's heard it's rather...unorthodox work, but work nonetheless.
>>94658He simply trots alongside her.
"I see. It sounds like a chaotic place to live if the need to secure your belongings is any indication. You do not have to deal with that kind of stuff, do you?"
>>94660What is Dark Star's Dex?
>>94661Let's see what the gangster has to say. Is this before or after Gladmane left and the Flim Flam era began?
>>94662"Not personally, no"
>>94663Iron nods as they go along, awaiting for her to spot something interesting or important as they both trot along the sidewalk.
>>94663Silver looks to the date on the letter, marking when Rain sent it off. Exactly one day before the start of the Great War. A cruel irony, when he thinks to what the letter contains.
Not exactly sure what your start date to the Great War is. Also, not entirely sure what you're referring to when you're talking about Gladmane and Flim Flam. Mind filling me in real quick, in case it has any bearing on the letter's contents, or Rain's backstory? >>94666>>94665Same result, not enough to overcome Blue's luck
>>94664She points them out quickly enough
"[x guy] owns that mechanics shop, he's in the gang. That flowershop is where a dog was killed the other day. That was actually the dog that was supposed to accompany you the first night, but they sent me in instead"
>>94667It's from an episode, nevermind. But that would be Flim Flam era >>94668As he trots along, he tilts his head a bit.
"Wait, I was supposed to work with a dog? They did not tell me that information. Strange."
He smiles as he looks forward.
"I am glad there was a change of plans. You were a lifesaver when those cops showed up."
(Although I am not sure what consequences other than failing the mission would they dish out.)
>>94669She smiles briefly
"A diamond dog"
The looks ahead, and trots over towards an even more commercial area. Shops, restaurants"
"[x] owns that place. [y] can be found around there. That's actually a brothel if you go upstairs. That bar has a nice enough atmosphere, which is hard to find in this area, but their drinks are over priced"
>>94670Iron's mind clicks.
"Oh! Right. I met one of them back at Willowbrooks' bar. She was nice."
I have no clue if normal dogs exist in here, but there was that one dog Applejack owned...He nods along.
"What is a 'bruh-dell'?"
>>94671Has Ash been forgotten already? She had that large Siberian husky, 'Caleb'"A business establishment where you can pay to have sex with mares. It's not exactly legal, so it's normally styled as being a sort of bar"
>>94672Whoops. Right. I forgot about that dog. Sorry Ash if I offended you and you're lurking here for some reason.Iron widens his eyes, shocked at this revelation. His breathing is slightly interrupted and his pace slackens a bit. He recovers in a span of a second though.
"Huh. I never thought something like that would exist ever. I suppose they are either too into it or just need money."
(The latter sounds like a lame excuse. Just get a stallion to give you what you need.)
>>94673She breathes out in a sort of contemptuous manner
"Some are immigrants paying back smugglers, some are down on their luck, some really love the money, and a few too many are shapeshifters"
