Read "Corny Nuts"
Which brings us into the next edition of the Game thread! For newcomers, this is an RP thread thats been ongoing for,... shit, 3 months now. How time flies.
Anywhow, its based on a very loose and permissive rendition of classic D&D 3.5 edition as a baseline, and includes whatever additions can be effectively (and not too ludicrously) included; basically whatever players want that also makes some sense.
The party has just made some character and story developments. Trump and Tracy discover that when their powers combine they form Captain Planet,... or rather, Tracy gets uber-sized and most ferocious.
Infernius and Thez have successfully tracked down and captured a Dark Elf who had been masquerading as the proprietor of the Bazaar (there is no proprietor) who were responsible for jacking all their shit.
What happens next? I have some idea, which probably means its not going to go anywhere near how I expect.

Hey wow, it didn't descend into complete madness
>>25343Ikr
Hey, could Tracy have finished stitching that cloak before she left?
Nevermind, I get it now. What's Tracy's craft skill?
>>25347I do want to keep crafting things though.
Maybe 8th?
>>25348How high does it need to be to craft a good one?
>>25349I'm sorry to keep asking, but what cloak was it again?
>>25350Cloak of Charisma.
https://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/SRD:Cloak_of_CharismaI can wait longer, if that's what it takes to make a good one (I want +6).
>>25351Your combined crafting roll needs to be a 30 or higher to make a Cloak of Charisma +6. You rolled a 5 + 8, so I'm afraid all you have now is a disappointingly mundane (and not terribly well stitched) cloak.
Ha ha, just kidding, crafting level doesn't even enter into it. The cloak is finished, but it
is non-magical at this point. To create a Cloak of Charisma +6, it will take 36 days (I'm not making that up, the metric is 1 day/1000gp in cost) having Eagle's Splendor cast on it each day consecutively. 16 days for +4, 4 days for +2.
>>25352Oh, okay..
If I can get someone else to collaborate, could it be done faster?
>>25353Unfortunately no, though I take back the 'consecutive' comment. The castings can be split up, as long as the overall work is not disrupted (meaning, you can leave it and come back to it) but doing so increases the requirement for every day it is neglected.
... at least, that's what the rules say.
Actually, if it's possible, send a pigeon to Lenos to request the Materials for a Heavy Mace. I want to craft a good one.
There's a lot of things I want to craft, actually. I'll have to figure out a way for her to store the spells for it.
>>25357
You know he can read delete logs yes?
>>25354What about certain "magic items on the list that have higher costs, but don't require spells? Do those need to be treated every day?
>>25361Unless you're referring to artifacts, I don't know of any magic item that
doesn't require a spell(s) of some sort. Can you give an example?
>>25362Well, the ring of evasion was an example.
>>25363It required the Jump skill, but no spell.
Other magic items may have prereqs, like the race or alignment of the maker, but don't require spells.
>>25366
No problem, I was just about to mansplain the shit out of it. I am finding however that scrolls (of sufficient caster level), spell-like abilities, and even certain potions (that last is my decision, not per the rules) can be substituted.
For example, if you were to essentially dye the cloak in a potion of eagle's splendor, I would count that.
>>25367That's great.
Items are one of my favorite parts of fantasy games (that and raising pets).
>>25369Yes, no doubt. I spent literal months plotting out Thez's stuff. Realize though that since wealth isn't an issue (it is for the moment, but wait) there are few restrictions I can place
other than time and the occasional mishap. Keep that in mind. ^_~
And also - like that whole debacle with Darkie - there are more ways to lose than simply 'dying'.
Also, for Infernius: did you consider replacing your horn with a brass one?
https://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/SRD:Horn_of_ValhallaIt'd be cool even without the magic (the idea of a Minotaur pulling-off his horn and blowing into it). Useful for high-stakes raids too, like the next time he inevitably charges into an enemy encampment like a bull in a china shop.
I've been meaning to find a way to make an iron one for Taylor for several weeks now
(wanted one for myself for months), but I simply didn't have the spell-casting ability.
>>25372C... can we,... just assume you mentioned that where Thez can hear?
>>25371Yeah.
I didn't think he'd die there, just paralyze him. It was supposed to be a simulation of an Assassin's Death Attack, but I guess I would've needed to sneak up on him for that...
>>25373I don't see why not.
>>25374That's not what I mean by lose. Going purely by stats and abilities, he should have escaped 4-5 times, several of those being after he was kill. At my discretion, I determined that he was so abhorrently arrogant (and he IS that, even before he showed up in the Game its what got him kill) that he would not be operating at his full ability 'cuz Y? Same goes for Korak, Kefka, George, and just about every villain the party has fought so far. I haven't had the justification (yet) to go "I will not forgive" on the party. You'll know when I do. ^_^
Had he escaped though - as one example - there would have been almost no chance of ever catching him, and he would be a recurring nuisance who popped up from time to time.
>>25375I outta invent duct-tape soon, to make sure slippery faggots like him don't get away with their skills.
>>25375What would giving him chamomile tea have done?
>>25377All you'd need is bandages and duct tape
>>25378Potentially given him a temporary blinding weapon
>>25379*bandages and sovereign glue
That stuff is cheap and easy to make
That is,... it would have been,... if the ants,....
>>25380>sovereign glueGot it. Will make later.
Duct-tape is the item master-race.
>>25381... It's too late to bring them back isn't it? Tracy feels very, very slightly guilty about it... I should've thought of scraping their goo off of the floor..
>>25382Are you going to need to grind a horse first?
>>25383Want to resurrect the queen?
And speaking of ants, allow me to paint a picture.
The ants are doing their thing, milling about and digging here and there, finding increasing utilitarian purpose outside the rigid dictates of the Queen, when one day a curious sound began to come from that cave they build for the Blue quadraped.
It began as a slow digging sound, but grew in intensity and proximity, with crashes and vibrations intermixed. Then without warning, the wall separating the two underground areas burst forth with a strange lizard creature that grew in size as they watched in horror. The ants ran around, screaming silently and internally (cuz, no mouths) as their whole hive was systematically hunted down and devoured or destroyed (cuz the Dog has uber-scent, especially when in survival/regen mode).
Those poor ants.
>>25383There's still pieces of them
>>25386~Yay! The great wizard came out of his coma.
>>25386Torcuil snaps back to consciousness and,... finds that he's been mummified, and leaned in the corner to not hurt himself.
>>25384Could just use the biproducts in the dumpster of a butcher shop, but that's an option too.
>>25387Stupid thing posted before I could type.
Hi guys
Please tell me someone moved Torc from the stables
>>25389"Where..."
Torc looks down at his bindings
"Where the hell am I?"
>>25391The stables would make sense. It was just "in the corner for safe keeping", no mention of which corner.
There's an oversized nest piled nearby, with two eggs the size of smart-cars nestled in it with little incense sticks wafting lazily around it.
Oh, wouldn't it be funny if the eggs hatched right now?
