Whether he succeeds or not is irrelevant, because he's about to get gang-raped, and though he's a death knight (spoiler) he doesn't have any nifty spells that will save his ass in such a situation like 2nd ed death knights do,... power word blind for example would be particularly useful in this instance.

Alright. Cheney is dead, and Thez lumbers in carrying Infernius' unconscious body. The way out is clear, just up the staircase.
She's got a bunch of wounds on her, and parts of her ar singed (damagingly), which is a new thing for her, but she's alright.
Upon arriving to the top of the staircase, the party finds a wall of force in effect, protecting the door and the surrounding archway from damage. The walls around are the same weird obsidian-esque glassy stuff, both obstructing physical movement and preventing astral/etheric motion.
The party seems to have found its self in an Oubliette of sorts.

The next room opens into a small corridor, with three robed blood-smears and a massive triceratops crumpled in the corner. A staircase leads up to a catwalk, where shackles are attached to the framework.
"Thats where he was being held, they had him in some sort of interrogation trance when I found them."

Beyond this point will be lots of fighting, spoiler alert. While the party did well bypassing otherwise avoidable enemies on their initial entrance, everything went to shit with Dick's "other associate" had the chance to finger the Trash Man and then teleport away. The jig is up so to speak.
