I want to have some more development for Ponimaru, desu. He really could be an interesting character, being the shadow vanguard for an unaware highborn. He'd make a good Lawful Evil Assassin-Monk (most ninja-like class combination, imo). I found it slightly ironic how he got kill that first time for white-knighting, because the basis of his character is a warrior/guardian who goes unappreciated; but I really do like his design and character concept. I too have a soft spot for ninjas.
Since he already speaks in common and advances by character class, why not just use an Awaken scroll and officially turn him into a sapient pony (with a cutie-mark)? It'd seem more appropriate, imo. I've been getting the impression that a lot of less-aware NPCs couldn't really tell the difference between horses and ponies, so it shouldn't really mess up his character roll.Tracy won't be able to "train" him to do tricks with her skills anymore though...
