In the far-off, northern island of Mended Horn, the party there has learned that they face an enemy they have dubbed "The Traveller." They have decided to go to an old, abandoned village there in hopes of rescuing some communist sailors.
In Baltimare, Dark Star tries to get things in order, while Virgin Flame looks for her old friend.

>>185290 "Мы попытались убежать в северную бухту, взбежав вверх по холму, но нас настигли петрушки и эти... пожитки. Мы были прижаты к земле." -
"We tried to escape to the northern bay by running up the hill, but we were caught by the Petrushkas and these... things. We were pinned down." >>185299I have one more combat encounter planned, but this is basically a crossroads, where the party is going to have to decide where they are going to go
>>185289The stallion pulls up Vir's coat, and searches her pockets, under the coat, and generally all along Vir. it's a little invasive, but doesn't last very long.
"Alright. You can go inside."
>>185303Silver looks around at the gathered, injured ponies. "Где комиссар?"
>>185304They find in the inner pocket a photography of the full personal of Sunny Day and the foals standing besides Princess Celestia. That photo was mentioned back years ago. The filly trio is in the photo before mother Justiney. If this matters to them is up to you, if this is creating unnecessary problems we can just say she left it at the church.
If nothing happens from that, she nods, say her thanks, and enters.
>>185307The stallion removes the photograph and inspects it, examining it closely. He does not, however, comment on it. So long as Vir doesn't have explosives or a firearm on her, he lets her through.
"Straight down the hall. On your right."
>>185305"С кем вы?"
>>185305"Did you ask them about the ship? That we are pirates? What are you saying?" Posey whispers, not knowing what is being said
>>185319Silver holds up a hoof to Posey, hopefully to communicate to just let him do his thing.
>>185317Silver frowns slightly, as his question hasn't been answered. "Где Черный Каблук?"
>>185317Vir nods and follows his instructions; she proceeds to walk down that path.
As she does this she calms herself thinking that, while she still had the same mane and fur color, it's still quite hard to piece together that she was one of the fillies in the photo since she's not a foal anymore. She also thinks that Princess Celestia probably drew most of his attention. No, she doesn't do that. It's way to complex for her. She just shakes her head and thinks that they would have learnt sooner or later anyway.
>>185328It's completely fine if this guard figures that out by the way. I was just... Idk.
I have 2 undrank energy drinks, I can wait ^,_,^
"So, we could go towards the ship, and charitably risk our lives to save the communists from the Traveller, or we could go find our marines and go home to be paid, and maybe make a recommendation that the army deal with any emergent threats from the Far Realm..." She puts a magic finger to her chin
"Do you think Captain Waters would reward us for such charity? Fighting unknowable Eldritch horrors was not in the job description. I am a working mother; I cannot be risking myself for no good reason."
He continues, cuz finally I have a reason to contribute/filibuster:
"Our mission is literally to ascertain/disable the airship. Im more in favor of repairing and using the airship especially for our extraction/departure, but regardless, either disabling the airship or taking it away from the traveler seems the best course of action no matter how you slice it, especially if it can grant us a reprieve."
He finishes, crossing his forehooves in a quasi-aggressive stance that SUGGESTS he is MORE interested atm in getting his goddamn nat 20 search results! Reeeee! ahead of this traveler
>>185328>>185329When Vir enters the first floor, she sees an open lobby with a pair of marble counters. In the lobby are a few ponies walking by. A pair of ponies come down a set of stairs with dark red wooden railings that are on the right side of the lobby, and in the corner, a minotaur in Tan stands with a submachine gun in strap hanging over his shoulder.
Past the two counters, on the right, under an upper floor balcony, is a hallway that goes back.
Not very far past that and on the right, is a wooden framed door with translucent glass panels under a sign that says "investigations."
Opening this, and through the door, is a small grey unicorn mare with a pink mane that is sitting oddly high in an almost kind of crouch in a chair behind a wooden counter.
"Hello." She says
>>185360"Hello," Vir says and nods.
Her casual smile has returned as her nerves has settled somewhat by now.
"My name is Virgin Flame. I'm looking for something and someone. I believe you can help me with this."
>>185371She leans over onto the counter, probably putting quite a bit of her weight on her front knees.
“What is it you need?” She asks
>>185372Vir drags a hoof through her mane and removes her hoodie at the same time.
"Firstly, I'm searching for a statue of Princess Celestia that was beeheaded. It belongs to a Church nearby the Delamare river and I found the head on the bottom. Now, I'm looking for the body. It was probably anarchists that took the statue in the first place. You know anything?" Vir asks.
Yo yo. Vir's in da house. Whatcha' got? Whatcha' got?
>>185460Yes, please. *Vir moves her head towards your hand. *
>>185465*Vir's face lights up like Rudolf's red nose. Then she hides behind her hooves as steam drifts off her face. She tries to speak but it only comes out as,* "Waaaaah."
>>185460No. Snootendoodle is not to be violated.
>>185463You whore
>>185420"Oh. Anarchists. Let me see." She moves over to the right, evidently by pressing against the desk and rolling the chair, and she finds a little box with a set of paper cards that she peers through with her magic.
"Anarchists, yes. We'll have a file on this. Do you know about when this was, or where? Which church was it?"
It was Saint Christopher, by the way.[1d20 = 4] >>185473>No. Snootendoodle is not to be violated.^^
>You whore:'C I didn't mean to. I just couldn't resist...
You don't know what these humans can do to mare. Vir sucks on her underlips for a moment while looking cross-eyed. She release it with a smack the sound of pop bubblegum.
"Not when. I can find out for the future. I think the church was called S-s, hmm. Sa-aaaaa. Ah! Santa Crust-Offer church," Vir says.
>>185475"Okay...." She looks down. "Okay. Here we go. I think we do have a report on an attack on Saint Christopher during the revolt by Anarchists. The police are the ones who handled it, but they were required to report to us."
>>185473Wow, r00d. All mares are QUEENS
>>185480Vir claps her hooves together in genuine happiness.
"Niiice," Vir says as she leans forward. "They beheaded it. I found the head at the bottom of the river but I'm looking for the body."
She leans back again and waves a hoof in front of her dismissively.
"But anything you have could be helpful. Who the anarchist were and such, you know clues for stallions who smoke pipe." Vir sucks off a pantomime pipe in the air.
>>185481>Wow, r00d. All mares are QUEENS^^
Can confirm. I would simp for mares.
Are there any checks Posey can make related to this situation? She doesn't speak the language, so IDK what she can do.
If there are any checks you want to make with her, you guys have my sheet. Go ahead and keep playing if I don't respond.
>>185489She pulls out a card, stares at it, and then looks back up to Vir.
"Yes... Um... We only have a couple notes on it. You see, it was handled by the Baltimare police, but uh, well it has notes showing it was attached to other cases of interest. Were you here during the revolt? Well if you weren't, there was a general uprising with the Anarchists kind of spearheading it. So, well, we have a lot of cases on ponies of interest. Uh, what information do you need? Would you like to speak with an investigator?"
>>185516Vir nods incouragingly.
"I don't know what information I need," she says and shakes head. "I'm not... Uh, great at figuring things out so, yes, please. If there's an investigator to spare and he can just point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful."
>>185520"Yes, Anarchists, Saint Christoper Neighborhood. That would be Moonlit Meadow. I believe she's here. Just down that little hall, she's the first door on the left. The right I mean. Your right, my left.
>>185551>The right I mean. Your right, my left."Hehe, I get ya'," Vir says but then realizes she laughed along with a blackhoof.
She shakes her head.
She did help me, she thinks.
"Thanks for the help." She give the mare a solemn look. "You were great."
She bows before she walks off towards the door.
>>185558This is what I started on yesterday. It doesn't even contain the most important part of the scene, but I'll add more later
The mare smiles back awkwardly.
And now, the door on the right? Is this the right right? Yes. It's the right right. The right on her left, and Vir's right. Anyways...
The door is wooden framed and has a single panel of translucent glass in the top. Sort of like the one that Vir went through to get into this section, except that one had two panels of glass, whereas this is a single panel on the upper half.
Knocking, and then opening the door
If you think it's more in character for Vir to wait until she gets explicit permission to open the door before opening it, then this is so, she looks in to see a book shelf on the left, a big set of files in boxes on the back wall, no windows, and a file cabinet on the right.
Do the survivors say where the boat is?
>>185565>And now, the door on the right? Is this the right right? Yes. It's the right right. The right on her left, and Vir's right. Anyways...^^
>The mare smiles back awkwardly.^^
>If you think it's more in character for Vir to wait until she gets explicit permission to open the door before opening it, then this is soAh, ty fren. No, this is fine. She did knock after all. Once you knock, you're allowed in. It's just common courtesy.
Vir walks into the center of the room. She looks from side to side.
"Hello?" she calls out.
>>185565>It doesn't even contain the most important part of the scene, but I'll add more laterAh, sorry. You can ignore what I wrote.
>>185566>You must speak the person’s language to communicate your commands, or else be good at pantomiming.I would like to roll perform to command any charmed survivors to tell us where the ship is, using the universal language of dance.
(It's the same mod as the opposed charisma check needed to give any other kind of order)

"Phew, I still have it. I was worried I would just embarrass myself there. I have not danced like that since my entry to magic school."
She looks over her shoulder
"I still do not know if they understood me though..."
Dust takes a few sampling bites of the grass at his hooves. Surely even half dead it's softer than some of the grasses of the savannahs.
>>185623It has to at least be sustainable for most of the year, if sheep like Mary were able to live for years since the village was abandoned.
Vir keeps her backlegs squeezed tightly shut as she dances on the spot.
I've been here for days and I'm desperate for a leak. Please, GM, where are you? Did he tell the truth about the Jews under oath? ;^P>>185592Hehe, I like this cute image of twi in crocs.
