>>180408>>180409If you want, I could help you build your character in the OOC thread.
For your character in particular, I would probably recommend doing Unarmed Swordsage 3, Monk 2, and then spec into Shadow Sun Ninja once you level up. You'd benefit from the Sun School feat as well, especially if combined with the Shadow Hand and Desert Wind's Teleporting Maneuvers. Shadow Sun Ninja may be very fitting for your character.
There's also the Sun Soul Monk PrC, if you'd prefer not to go Swordsage, but Shadow Sun Ninja is so good.
Dipping Fighter 2 (Pugilist) could help you with your BAB and help you qualify for feats earlier, especially if you trade armor for Hit-And-Run for Dex damage vs flat-footed targets.
Alternatively, consider multiclassing Monk and Cleric, and going for Sacred Fist.
Don't forget that you can pick up Combat Martial Art's through your starting occupation. D20 Modern has some good unarmed combat stuff.
>>180410No.
Also, who?
>>180398>GM is in Europe againAre we doing things tonight, GM?
>>180413Is there a shapeshifter type of class? Like, I'd think it be cool if Virgin is more a normal martial artist while sober but then when she's drunk she's a drunken master or something.
>>180413Also, thanks for the offer, fren. ^^
>>180415>>180404Keep bickering out of thread
>>180408But do make a swim roll
>>180403Intelligence or relevant knowledge, craft, or profession roll.
>>180420Dust is not available today, so only so much can be done.
>>180424Yes. Druid. Also play as a changeling.
>>180424>shapeshifter type of class?Several.
There's also the Wild Monk ACF, which gives Wildshape to the monk:
https://srd.dndtools.org/srd/classes/baseCore/monk.html#wild-monkIt's basically Druid, only without the spells, plus martial arts.
You can use it to enter Master Of Many Forms:
https://dndtools.net/classes/master-of-many-forms/Warshaper is good too. You can enter it if you have preexisting shapeshifting abilities.
https://srd.dndtools.org/srd/classes/prestigeCwar/warshaper.html>drunken masterDrunken Master is its own prestige class:
https://dnd.arkalseif.info/classes/drunken-master/index.htmlNot that powerful, but neither is the base Monk.
Shadow Sun Ninja is a personal favorite of mine. It may fit your theme, as the class involves maintaining the boundary between ones's inner instincts and one's virtues.

>>180426Neither were intended to be contentious, tho Ill neglect the cheek
>>180426[1d20 = 5] I don't know what my skill modifier is yet though but that should be my roll unless I screwed it up somehow, which seems unlikely but I won't pretend that I do this and know what I'm doing.
>>180432>5Virgin Extinguish Flame, 3000 leagues under the sea.
>>180426>>180430My bad. I should have expressed myself better. With shapeshifter, I was thinking about league were some people sometimes refer to champions like Jayce as Shapshifters but it's more about changing playstyle.
So instead is the a class that transitions into another or have different modes and are there any that's specifically about changing their martial art style?
>>180436Should probably move to the OOC thread:
>>179654 → >>180437 →
>>180420>GM is in Europe againI am in a super sekret location that you will never, ever guess
pew pew>>180432Strength modifier. There is a skill for Swim. But no one puts points in swim.
Virgin... sinks...
under the sea
under the seaIf Virgin were to open her eyes - not that I'd recommend it - she could see detritus in a not-terribly clear water. The water has a pull downstream.
>>180408Swallowing this water seems inadvisable. It probably has amoebas or something.
>>180444But you
can do investigation and rolls
>>180446Rolling to see if this ship has any use to us, before I blow it up:
[1d20+5 = (2+5) = 7]
>>180447On second thought, after searching a single 5 ft square, I'll take 10 on the rest of the checks, for a modified 15...
>>180446Huh? Would you look at that, I found my old sheet and I had a whole eight ranks in swimming and straight +4 in strength modifier. Lucky! ^^
>>180446>Swallowing this water seems inadvisable. It probably has amoebas or something. It's already been done. The amoebas should fear me.
>>180446Hehe, I barely started and I'm already dead.
>>180450>>180451>>180452Amoebas fear herWell, the head is likely to be on the bottom of the river rather than the top anyways, so may as well start here.
Roll Search
>>180447>>180448I take it that we haven't found anything in this ship?
>>180453I decided to give her str:12, dex:15, con:14, int:9, wis:13, and cha:9. Haven't decided where to put the +1 for level for yet.
Virgin's eyes sting as she opened them. She spins around and her gaze bounce around. She searches:
[1d20-1 = (8-1) = 7] search.
>>180455I need to clarify that we're actually doing level 6 now. Before, it was level 5. Remember that at level 4 you gain +1 ability point to put somewhere.
Virgin, having now asserted her authority over the amoebas, checks the area near where she jumped in, which I presume is in the middle of the river from the bridge near the basilica. Virgin sees little twigs floating in the water, a riverbed that has some water plants and algae, a few fish swimming in the river, and a bucket (just a random bucket). She does not, however, sea the prize.
Roll swim to move around or go back to the surface.
>>180454I'm thinking about it
>>180426>relevant craft rollHmmm...what kinds of craft rolls?
>>180459Something relevant to shipbuilding or mechanics
>>180458>I need to clarify that we're actually doing level 6 now.Ah, okay.
>Remember that at level 4 you gain +1I did actually, remember that. ^^
>>180455>Haven't decided where to put the +1 for level for yet.Btw, I'm using the starter pack for monk as shown in pic related for the this post
>>180408 so apparently, because of this I do have ranks in swim. I know I also get more points to put in skills that depends on my class + int modifier and such but I haven't done that yet. But this is her basis anyway.
Virgin summons her inner fish and doesn't need oxygen. She tries to butterfly swim her way forward: [1d20+4+1]
swim
>>180461It only wants a single plus. Put 1d20+5
>>180463Well, she can at least swim to the surface if desired. What does Virgin do?
>>180460Hmmmmmmmmm...let's see if the combined crafting knowledge between Silver and Kira can provide any kind of positive outlook on the state of the ship.
[1d20+2 = (3+2) = 5]
>>180464She swims up to the surface in a slithering movement. She breaks the surface, sending droplets of, the-not-so-fresh-water, all around her so it splatters and create tiny ripples around her.
She gasps for air.
>>180467Well, Virgin has air, and she can keep up with the water flowing in the river, though it isn't super easy.
Now, where is that head?
Roll search or swim.
>>180471Virgin swim so that she rotates in place and her eyes dart around the area. What does she see? There was some kind of bridge nearby.
>>180474This area is the Delemare River. Above her is an automobile and pedestrian bridge with two concrete pillars holding it up. It has steel trusses keeping it up, painted red. To each side is a river bank covered in plants, and then a ten foot concrete wall acting presumably as a flood barrier.
But below the water, roll search again. Wisdom modifier
>>180475She swims closer to one of the bridge's pillars, thinking that somepony might have dropped the head off the bridge so it might be nearby. She takes deep breath, sounding like a dog whining while she does so. Then she disappears under the surface again.
She scans the bottom,
[1d20+1 = (4+1) = 5] search
>>180478Hmmm... Nothing seems to be there. Wel that isn't exactly true. There is a fishing pole. But there's no statue head.
>>180479She nods to herself and memories the location of this fishing pole before swiming under the bridge and along it towards the other pillar. Meanwhile, she does this, she "vacuum cleans" the bottom like a flat fish in her search. Only going up for air when necessary.
[1d20+1 = (3+1) = 4] =search=
>>180480To clarify, you mean that she looks side to side, right? Not an amoeba genocide?
Well, she found a rock. It's not a statue head, but it's something.
>>180482>To clarify, you mean that she looks side to side, right? Not an amoeba genocide?^^
>Well, she found a rock. It's not a statue head, but it's something. It sure is something.
She does not memorize the location of the rock. She proceed to the other pillar and dives down there. She peers into the abyss...
[1d20+1 = (17+1) = 18] search
>>180484By the pillar, actually kind of against it, she sees a saddle bag. A little further away is a pair of glasses.
And beyond that... Is white marble, what appears to be the head of a unicorn mare.
>>180488Virgin's eyes go wide and she does a few escalating nods. She swims up to the unicorn head first. She inspects it. She peers at it from different sides to take it all in.
Then she swims in close with her body and takes a solid grip and just test pulls it upwards.
Is that a strength check. I'll roll for it and if it's wrong then just disregard it.
[1d20+1 = (6+1) = 7] strength Like I'm playing pokemon.
>>180492A mane combed to the left, and just enough of the neck to show a collar.
While it's not super heavy... that's not an impressive roll.
>>180493^^
Virgin pulls but the head slips through her hooves as her hold on it fail.
I can try three times right? If I'm not misremembering there was something like that in the book, obviously, if you allow me to try again. If you do, here's my roll:
[1d20+1 = (10+1) = 11]
>>180495Virgin pulls and pulls, and she's able to pull it out of the mud, and slowly swim with it to the surface and the river bank.
>>180458Is there anything else that we should roll on our end, before we blow up the ship?
