>>171892Three questions:
1.) Have the drones noticed the ponies yet?
2.) Can Silver see any bomb-shaped objects in the room?
3.) Does it look like the boxes are covering anything?
>>171895Not immediately, but time is running out, and the others aren't in yet
Silver would need to roll spot to have a contest of time
I'd like to apologize to Baltimare for my terrible luck
>>171897Silver can't really tell much, but it's time to either enter the room with his comrades, or withdraw.
>>171898pets ze fluff >>171899They don't happen to have any grenades, do they?
ze fluff iz pet >>171902Oh shit, really? Now this is a conundrum: a grenade would clear out the room, but if that bomb is in there then it might cause a premature detonation.
>>171904Fuck it, let's ball. Silver has the other members of the squad back up before he pulls the pin, rolls it through the doorway, closes the door and dives back into the hallway away from the room.
Image not a 100% accurate representation >>171905Silver throws in the grenade, and....
ching ching ching chingAt least one assault rifle shoots at the door....
But there is no explosion
>>171906...Дерьмо!
Curse his luck! A dud! Now the element of surprise has been blown! He runs for the cover of the hallway split to the other basement before the shooting really starts. Hopefully the others have followed suit.
>>171907Silver is at least able to retreat back into the hallway. While the door is questionable, the bricks are solid enough to stop bullets.
Unfortunately, it appears the drones can simply fight defensively and hold the room
>>171908Damn. Odds are that this is indeed the room with the bomb, but with so many changelings there if they had the wire they needed they would have detonated it already. The fact that Silver is very much not atomized gives him the belief that they must have killed the team that was bringing back wires for the detonator, or they're still out there looking for one.
Since there's at a stalemate for the moment, Silver sees if the jammed door to the other basement can be opened.
>>171910What about pushing into the door with Silver's shoulder?
>>171894>I suppose there's a decent case for this, as I tend to be pretty lenient with players basically collecting NPCs (Silver is up to five, I think) including de facto companionsThat's basically my whole thing.
Too bad I don't get the spells for it until I reach level 8.
Speaking of which, did I get to level 4 yet?
Okay, whatever the result, Posey waits until sunset to meet the wight as it arises. If the bones stay dead, she goes to bed with a disappointed sigh, and snuggles her colt, contemplating her next evil plan.
>>171889>>171915BAMSilver knocks it down. Unsubtly
>>171913>level 4Maybe? Let me get back to you on that one
>>171912That's specifically for the energy drain attack, which is not what the relic does
As for just saying "fuck it Posey can have a wight"... let me get back to you on that. A wight is a bit different from a true NPC as its under the player's direct command, whereas the changeling nymphs/waifus/that one kaftar fighter that players have collected so far are... well, NPCs that need to be persuaded
>>171917It's filed under the energy drain attack in the SRD, but negative levels from any source cause this, including various spells and effects.
>NPCsPosey's plan was going to be to use him as a shocktrooper to attack Alluring, and telepathically command him to return with his turned flock of he survives.
There's also the option of simply adding the wight template to his (Ex) paladin statblock, which would retain most of him as a character; however, that might give him too many hit dice for Posey to directly control...
>A wight is a bit different from a true NPC as its under the player's direct commandI think an uncontrolled wight would be a bigger pain in the ass.
Before you make any rulings, I'll note that wights can create spawn very efficiently, and you might not like that at this level.
>not what the relic doesYou could also just say that the relic simply damages evil creatures who touch it, instead of giving the negative level to those who possess it.
I'll be honest with you: I asked you specifically about the negative level back when you first described the item to me so that I could do exactly this, months ago. It was me just grasping at straws to try to make the treasure I retrieved into something useful.
>Let me get back to youTake your time. I had plenty of fun this weekend. Focus on Silver and his adventure.
>>171917Silver busts in to see...
A few brick columns, though not as many as in the other room. A concrete floor, with many boxes periodically throughout the room.
At least two drones, moving near the end of the room which connects to the previous room. And in the Center is a concrete column that has a desk with a phone set up, wires leading away, and two drones by it.
>>171919Would I be correct in assuming that Silver has been noticed?
>>171921Let's try something gutsy.
Bluff: In the best authoritative accent Silver can muster, he shouts out to the changelings in their own language.
"
Statusbericht!"
[1d20 = 8] >>171922>>171923Hmmm... Well as talking is generally a free action, Silver could try to move to cover or roll initiative for combat with a little penalty
>>171924[1d20 = 17]I don't know what the penalty would be, but his normal modifier is +4
[1d20+2 = (14+2) = 16]

But he wasn't fast enough, and was struck in the head and chest by bullets, ripped apart before hitting the ground
One drone, hearing Silver's words, was confused
just enough that the white pegasus got the lead. The white pegasus actually manages to levy his gun next.
[1d20+7 = (12+7) = 19][1d20+7 = (7+7) = 14] >>171933>>171934I... think that's enough to down the drone?
>>171932The room is not clear, but the two drones that are most dangerous have been neutralized (the second drone clearly not dead, at least until Streak kills him) and the first one clearly dead. There are two drones at table that are not armed, at least immediately
>>171935Silver levels his LMG at the two remaining drones here, a warning for them to not make any sudden moves.
"Lasst uns das noch einmal machen. Wir sind wegen der Bombe hier, nicht wegen Ihnen. Verlasse diesen Ort, geh nach Hause."
>>171936>>171936The plus: they seem deterred from reaching for their guns. The bad: there are two arched doors leading to the other room, and reinforcements will be through imminently
>>171937Intimidate: Silver shouts angrily at the changelings while keeping his gun on them, something easy to do due to the nature of the language.

JETZT!"
