>>171790You did. Your action was to become a ball of gas.
>>171789>10Okay, new plan.
At this distance, they couldn't have gotten a good look at me, so I'll escape.
>>171792Wait, what?
Actually, nevermind.
That's a standard action though. Posey would still be able to move 10 ft.
Okay, what is posey doing?
Would've done the Darkness before the gaseous form normally.
>>171795I'm not sure now. I need to get a better understanding of her surroundings.
Okay, first thing is first: path to escape.
Are there any cracks in the street, sewer pipes, or other openings that a gaseous creature could slip into?
>>171797So basically, the building Posey is in has a rather large, rather clear, front yard. The frontage is
not flush with the street, there is a parking lot and grass, and the street is maybe like 70 or so feet away. Then the street is two lanes with a sidewalk, and the warehouse is slightly back from the road as well, to a lesser degree. The second floor warehouse is thus something like 150 feet away. The area in between has basically no cover. It’s open ground.
>>171798On the street itself, yes.
It should probably be known that Posey can simply renter the Hoebuck structure
>>171799>It should probably be known that Posey can simply renter the Hoebuck structureI guess she could reenter the building, invoke the red curse below ground level, and then slip out through cracks in a place where the ambushers wouldn't think of looking.
>mfw the stingey griffin Jew-god didn't give me any reward for sacrificing a paladin in his name
Hmmph, see if I ever sacrifice anyone to him again.
(I jest, I wasn't actually aiming for any rewards this time)
>>171799Posey retreats into the building as deeply as she can. She avoids windows, looking for cover.
I should have gone with the original plan of having the machine gun be a surprise round>>171802So does Posey use her action to nope the fuck out of there?
>>171803Yeah, that sounds like a common sense thing to do .
muh perception check though
>>171804Once Posey is inside, she looks for a path to escape unseen. She shuts off any light switch she passes.
That garbage chute from earlier comes to mind.
Is Posey able to find any way she could get out of this mess?
>>171804https://youtu.be/rEFidT-0NJM?si=PBJuvh5sIYPPsgeyPosey gains the benefit of partial cover retreating inside the building, but it’s not perfect

>>171810On her turn, Posey goes downstairs, to where she killed Luminous.
Actually, I think you’re right.
Poof. All NPCs now have one extra hit die and base attack, +2 of all stats, and carry magic ammo.
>>171811So, if Posey isn’t already familiar, 33 Hoebuck is built like a fortress/prison. There is a reason the military chose to simply surround the structure rather than attack it directly.
Posey goes straight down the hallway, and turns left in the main hallway to stairwell. Going down, she’s back in a hallway that takes her to a series of multiple doors that lead to two rooms, a tunnel, and a boiler room. Going through the boiler room and another smaller hallway, she’s back in the old storage room where she killed the griffin.
>>171785Live Current’s mouth hangs open
“They were… trying to take our wires…”
>>171812>surroundOkay, I'm not afraid of the bullets so much as I am being seen, because that would really complicate my day job. If Posey is able to slip through cracks, could she exit below ground level and surface somewhere q considerable distance away?
>>171814Definitely giving them magic bullets. Throw in a few submachine guns as well. Maybe
another fighter level.

>>171816I knew that sacrifice would come in handy!
>>171813"This is important: did they manage to take any? Their detonator had damaged wire that was preventing detonation."
>>171816Posey has options. By becoming a ball of red gas, she can squeeze through the pipelines and enter into a sewer system that exits 15 blocks north. Or maybe she can exit through a random toilet. Of course this would require abandoning the silver sword, the chain mail, and the griffin skeleton. Still another option is to slip through a narrow crack and into a storm drain that exits about… 3 blocks away. And yet another is to follow a power conduit. It goes a little south, maybe one block. The street may or may not be safe.
There are other more boring options, like just going through that door at the end of the hall and waking through a tunnel either a block south to a door factory, or two blocks east to an old church. Or maybe go out a different tunnel that opens directly into the harbor. But those don’t involve becoming gas or crawling through shit, so why bother?
>>171819>Of course this would require abandoning the silver sword, the chain mail, and the griffin skeleton. The spell turns equipment you're carrying into smoke too. It should apply to Posey's saddlebags.
>exits 15 blocks northIdk if she can stay in that form long enough to reach there.
>There are other more boring options, like just going through that door at the end of the hall and waking through a tunnel either a block south to a door factory, or two blocks east to an old church. "Thank you Maar!" Posey says in thanks
Posey heads towards the door factory, since she suspects the police to be monitoring the church, and she's not gone of running water.
I will need to be sleeping soon
>>171820>posey can carry the skeleton as a gasPosey shouldn’t be casually carrying a griffin male regardless. It weighs more than her. It’s necessarily too bulky to fit in a simple saddlebag.
But down a long tunnel, past a split, she finds stairs that go up to a closed door, and to a dark storage area.
>>171822Posey stealthily slips through the door and attempts to head for the streets carefully.
230 pounds is a light load for Posey. She came here with full intent to retrieve his skeleton, and Posey is an expert body-snatcher.
Posey removes her steel cap and lets her mane down, to look like a civilian.
>>171823Actually, she removes her chain shirt entirely and bundles it. It only takes her one minute to do so.
>>171823I don’t give a damn how strong you say posey is, you’re not fitting 230 pounds of anything low density in a saddlebag
>>171825Can I wrap the bones in my cloak and chain shirt to make a bundle?
>>171825Also, the skeleton should weigh a lot less than that. A human skeleton only weighs about 15% of their body weight, and this is a hollow-boned flying organism, probably less than 10-25 pounds in total.
Okay, I really do have to sleep now. I can't pull a third all nighter in a row
>>171818Live Wire has looked emotionally distressed from the beginning, but more so now.
“I-I… don’t know? I didn’t see it. I think so? I think they did.”

>>171745Amber looks into the stores as she perambulates, trying to appear at least somewhat of a tourist. Likewise, she slows down to get better views of the castle, the Cathedral, Rathaus and university. Sadly she cannot go inside any of them, at least not yet. Amber is surprised to see a cathedral at all, let alone under construction, as Hellquill is not known for being particularly religious. Does she know when it started construction?
>85 repliesHoly moly
Okay, I had a day to sleep.
Do I need to roll anything for Posey to sneak out through the door factory?
Also, after winning that very hard fight against an elite opponent, completing my mission, and having formative character development, do I get to level up now?
I would like for Posey to be able to return to the manor before the following evening, for the purpose of what I'm going to do with these bones.
Posey leaves the door factory and makes her way down town back up the manor
This times I'm going to take 10 on stealth to-
Lol

[1d20+9 = (5+9) = 14]
>>171839Is 14 enough to sneak away? The enemy is two blocks down, so I might just take off running.
>>171839The wall where the stairwell Posey passes is tan, compared against the red of the remainder of the factory, implying an older origin. Going through the door, Posey can see a big storage room full of glass windows, leaning one against the other. Posey may have difficulty getting around locked doors, but she doesn't feel an obvious time constraint. At least, until they figure out that this area is accessible through the underground.
