Well how about that,... air pirates. And they call their ship a derivative of "Cunt" too. I wonder if there's a connection, GM says dryly.
This leg of the game has the players either onboard or somewhere in the vicinity of the 'random' pirate airship that has taken to firing upon Trump Tower, as well as several of the characters. Unfortunately, a spell-caster onboard has placed a spell of Peace on the ship, and now there's a shimmering wall of force surrounding the captain.
Thez is hovering about 45deg from the front, ready to attack. Lenos is preparing for a Meteor Swarm, Infernius is speeding toward the ship, and Torcuil said "Fuck the Bullshit" and just teleported to it.
Trump wants to engage in diplomacy, but he rolled a 1 so he has to wait, and Tracy can't stab at ALL, which is an entirely new sensation for her.

The below-deck is the 'captain's quarters', except converted into a bunk area for several dozen. The below-deck is about 1000sq ft with a loading bay in the front, with a transparent (and removable) membrane keeping wind and elements out of the below-deck. In the middle is the kitchen, which has a small chute connecting the kitchen to the bar area. Also, there's a jaccuzi toward the back.
>>42959How many decks are there?
>>42959You said the tower was dented earlier.
How much damage was actually done?
>>42963Nothing structural or significant, just enough for the party to go "Oh hey, these cannons seem to be able to do damage to that glass-shit."
When you cast Gate, is there a chance of creatures slipping through from the other side without you wanting them to?
>>42964What kind of ammo are they firing?
>>42965If not properly warded or guarded (magic circles n shit) yes, they can.

>>42966>Large bulletsInteresting.
How much ammunition is left in stock? Do they have any spare powder?
>>42966>Large bulletsCan I get a compare and contrast of these cannons versus the ones on the Jolly Cunt?
>>42967There's about 30 shots stacked in a hopper below-decks, meaning 3 full volleys and a single burst from the fore-cannons.
>>42968Way different. More technologically advanced and precise in their construction, in addition to being flame-less and entirely mechanical in their operation.
>>42969>entirely mechanicalSo, is there a Use Magick Device DC for anything else on the ship?
I can't remember how many ranks I put into Tracy's skill, but I think I maxed it out because I wanted her to be able to use scrolls.
>>42970Nope. By the looks of things, this wasn't a raiding party, this was just a 'party' on the 'yacht' where the assembled got wasted and decided to fuck with that new bunch they kept hearing about.

>>42978Yes, the scroll is still consumed by a miss-cast.
>>42980Its a flying stone. Its a stone that if you're not careful will fly away damaging a number of things along the way. Its not the source of the shield, and its not that the balloon (stone) is indestructable, its been layered over with a variety of protective materials, to prevent it from sustaining damage. Its almost like they thought compromising the vehicle's flight was an effective strategy that opponents might employ.
>>42979A bunch of little sketches, they don't make any sense by themselves.
>>42983>the scroll is still consumed by a miss-castI guess I'd better invest moar points in that skill then..
Scrolls are handy though, if you have the right skills to use them.
>>42984Actually, I just realized that that Summon Monster 1 wand wouldn't work unless Trumpaladin rolled 20 to activate it... Glad I realized that before he wanted to use it..
Aside from what's listed on the Wands list, can you create wands for other spells?

>>42986That's good to know then. Wands are even handier than scrolls in that regard.
>>42987Also interested.
I was going to ask if a Transformation spell (whose focus is a Potion of Bull's Strength), could be cast on the potion and be given to others.
>>42988>reeeeeSorry.. I mean, you can still keep the wand, Tracy already made herself another one (a summon monster I wand is dirt cheap to make).
>>42987Just about anything 4th or lower, with exception.
>>42989Yes but more costly/difficult/time-consuming to produce, and don't break them.
>>42991How long does it take to craft a 1st-level spell wand?
>>42992Depends on the spell and caster level. 3rd level magic missile takes 3 days, 9th level takes 7 days. Also, wands cost experience to craft.
>>42993I wanted to craft a True Strike wand for Tracy. How long and how much XP would that cost?
>>42994Minimal XP or caash/materials. Did I say 3-7 days for magic missile (true strike would be comparable)? That's just to
make the wand. I missed the part about having to effectively cast the spell in question 50 times (once per charge). So, longer.
>>42995What's the amount of time it takes to cast a spell with a wand?
>>42996Its a brilliant idea though, making an otherwise tedious spell significantly more useful.

>>42998Neat! Is there a minimum number of spells to place in a wand, or can it hold like 5? After the number of spells is spent, can the wand be "recharged" or must a new one be crafted?
>>43001>Implying the dragon won't be a waifu >>43002A wand is just a storage device: it holds up to 50 spells.
Casting a spell from a wand is normally a standard action, unless the spell in question takes longer to cast.
>>43002According to the Wiki:
>Each wand has 50 charges when created, and each charge expended allows the user to use the wand’s spell one time. A wand that runs out of charges is just a stick.Does that entail that it takes 50 days to create a wand, and that it can't be recharged thereafter?
>>43002One spell per wand, rechargeable but ineffective unless completely recharged.
(the rules say they aren't but I say blah)

Alright, I think I might've settled on her selected feats:
>Improved Sunder

>Greater Multi-weapon fighting (muh extra stabs!)
>combat reflexes
Does this look good? I might want to replace combat refleces with Great Cleave...

light weapons. Daggers, sure. A sword? That's different. Also, get weapons finesse, it will improve your modifier.
>cleave in nightmare formI don't think you get the feats of an alternate firm stacked on to player feats, because of the way fears are calculated
>>43012>quiverThe efficient quiver is in Cardishore
>>43013Yes she does. Her Rogue Attack bonus and Blackguard Attack add up to a base of 16.
>>43015Koraks sword has to be a light weapon. I don't see how else did he apply his weapon finess to it? Unless it's a rapier.
>nightmare formI remember it it being stated that she got the feats of that form, even though she didn't get the full Str or skills of that body. That's how she qualified for Blackguard.

>CardishoreI still want to go back there.. She lost a lot of knives that day..

>>43015Also, loosing an Everwhirling chain to attack is a free action.
>>43017She has +9 from 13 levels of rogue, +0 from 1 level of assassin, and +3 from three levels of blackguard. That's a +12 bonus.
Feats are obtained by hit die mostly, so it doesn't make sense for an alternate form's feats to stack. You can claim one or the other sets of fears, but not both at the same time
>>43018You don't have an ever whirling chain, you have an
animated chain. An ever whirling chain has a market value of over 5 and a half million gp, or costs 53000 xp and 2.2 million gp. That's the equivalent of 10 wish spells.
>>43019>Attack bonusHmm, looks like I was mistaken.
I'll replace Greater Multi-Weapon Fighting with Quicken Spell-like ability.
>>43020Then how has she been able to make three attacks per turn with it and attack from 60 ft away?
>>43022Because you've been gaming the system by not specifying your feats, but letting us think that you have QuickDraw. You've been taking advantage of ignorance
>>43023The chain was supposed to have been modified before the party went to get Infernius.
>>43024Yes, it was animated. You don't get a free 5.5 million gp item though. Or if you do, we all get 5500000+ GP in free items/53000 xp worth of items
>>43026GM explained that the chain is capable of suspending itself 60 ft without the wielder having psychic powers, but is not an ever whirling chain, during the charge on RBG
>>43027I'll have to look at that later..
>>43021Yeah.. I'm definitely going to want that quickening feat.. I didn't realize that becoming Ethereal provoked an Attack of Opportunity.
>>43031Idk.. she has that quiver, and she could also just carry the cane wherever because it does look like a weapon.
>>43032>she has the quiver>she has*cardishore security has the quiver
>carry the caneI'm not sure transforming it and lifting it is a free action
>>43033>cardishore security has the quiverNo, I'm referring to the quiver she got from Thez; the one with the Bag of Holding as a side-pocket.
>>43034You're claiming now that not only does she have extremely high storage capacity, she can also remove weapons from it that are of heavy construction as a free action?
>>43035>weapons from it that are of heavy constructionShe doesn't have any heavy weapons except for the Warhammer she picked-up from Dick Cheney, and she's never even used that.
>high storage capacityYes, although she mostly uses it to feed her birds, desu (she washes it, of course), since she doesn't really have anyone to steal from. It did come in handy when feeding Killy, and she stores her chain and any heavier or non-weapon objects in the Bag of Holding.
>>43036I don't think we got the cane swords variety, but my guess is long sword, which is heavier than light. As for drawing a hidden weapon with sleight of hand, that's a standard action. You can do it as a free action, but with a -20 penalty
>>43036>mostly used to feed her birdsOh bullshit. How many bodies are in there right now? How many thousands of gems? How many hundreds of pounds of other useless, stolen items?
>>43037A long sword isn't finessible, and Korak

I'll just have her carry it as a cane.
Is the party back at the tower yet?

>>43109How would you play an ebil character?
>>43109>It's under appreciated just how damned principled Batman isYeah, I didn't read the meme before posting.
Batman is actually really lawful, perhaps more than a lot of heroes, despite how he works.
>>43110GM said the defining feature of the good-evil alignment is service to others against service to self. So selfish. Because most moral principles actually have some utility to them, he couldn't be
pure evil because morals like honesty and loyalty are generally necessary to maintain group cohesion or the trust that allows for voluntary exchange. He's make up for the lack of purity in evil in the shear scale of what is done. I definitely wouldn't do pointless, non-self serving evil acts, since they don't have any real benefit and can have harms
>>43115Precisely. It's definitely my favored villain alignment
>>43117But chaotic evil isn't as strong. If you don't have rules and covenants and oaths then you can't facilitate trust, and if you don't have trust you can neither succeed in large collective endevours nor repeated voluntary exchange. And when you don't have that, you can't accomplish anything truly great...
>>43115As for how to play neutral evil... I think I'd have to reduce ambitions/expectations
>>43117I mean, you're allowed to like whatever you like, I just like structure and glory
>>43118you don't necessarily need trust, you could control everyone through fear.
>>43120Maybe if you have
very high grade and enhanced super powers, maybe, but even then, you'll be afraid to go to sleep. In general, humans are not very powerful as individuals, regardless of how intelligent, strong, or well resourced they are, and giving them standard fantasy superpowers increases that but actually not by a lot. Where humans
really gain their power is in getting other humans to do things for them that they want. That requires
someone to actually want to do you bidding and believe that you aren't going to fuck them over next. But when you have a class of people - or better, and entire nation - willing to execute your commands,
then you've got some serious power, especially when combined with standard fantasy super powers

>>43113>He's make up for the lack of purity in evil in the shear scale of what is done. I definitely wouldn't do pointless, non-self serving evil actsSee, that's exactly my issue here. I want to do
really ebil things, even if only once in a while, but I can't really think of things she could do and get away with in this environment. When I think of neutral ebil, I think "does whatever she can get away with", although it's hard to keep secrets in a campaign like this.
>the defining feature of the good-evil alignment is service to others against service to selfIdk.. I can think of a lot of characters who were objectively ebil, but really weren't helping themselves at all. I always took the dicotomy of "good vs ebil" as "helping people vs hurting people". The defining qualities of an ebil character should be determined by their cruelty, malice, or willingness to cause great harm or suffering unto others, for whatever reason or lack of reason that may be.
Even in lore and fiction surrounding /tg/ games, it's not hard to find objectively ebil characters who didn't really do much in service to themselves. A lot of LE characters could be some jerk committing vile acts for "the greater good" (bullshit), while other LE or even NE characters may be loyal cohorts to ebil people they respect, or champions of nations that happen to serve ebil gods. For these kinds of characters, you can tell their evil by the cruel acts they commit, their depravity, or the dastardly methods they use to carry-out whatever it is they do: if you're killing babies, even if it benefits you in no way, you're probably ebil. Even CE characters don't have to be motivated by self-interest to be ebil; oftentimes they're only motivated by pure hatred something else that makes them choose to destroy everything or hurt innocent people.
>>43124Killing babies

>>43124>>43124>if you're killing babies, even if it benefits you in no way, you're probably ebilWell, yeah, but why? Like why do it
