>>183616 The zeeb is indeed pat. While his expression doesn't change, his tail does swish a bit and his ears do flick a little. >>183613 Dust lets out a deep sigh, he plods up to Posey and taps her on the shoulder. His expression can only read as... Umbrage as he gestures towards the arms.
>>183629 "Yes?" she replies, feeling the tap on the wither She notices the gesture "Oh, are you wondering where I got these? They were gifts from a friend of mine, in as a reward for some religious services. I am glad I brought them along." >>183614 >Brie has the fortune of Posey sitting down, meaning that his biggest distraction is not so visible uwu
Brie begins most jovially and ALMOST charismatically, but gradually deepening in intensity, speed, and harmonic pitch. "I appreciate the wont to be generous to the small sheep. It certainly seems otherwise innocuous, only needing a prestidigitation spell and a meal to make right as rain, but I'll also suggest - crazy that this may sound - this particular sheep spoke to me in a language Ive only ever heard a couple times that 'Im not supposed to admit to being able to recognize."
>>183619 It's not like he's trying to fuck them. Reveal your Power Level. Dark Star needs training trying to convince normies of his grand plan, anyways. These are displacies; they should be easier to convince than the average mare.
Sorrel: "That seems a little strong to say that they hold contempt for us. Like... are we really superior? I know we ponies have a long history but... surely they have some too, right?"
Tricky: "Although if somepony is going to be receiving hoof outs, shouldn't it be other ponies? We can't even get jobs here."
Roll Diplomacy or Charisma to try to persuade them further.
>in conclusion zebrica should be burned and salted Absolutely fucking based.
>>183623 Now you've infected Kira with the bad luck! And she was the luckiest member of the party!
>>183624 >+23 I'm sorry. If it were with both Kira and Mala I could accept a +23, but as it is with only Kira I'm going to have to cut that to a +14
>>183631 Dust's eyes narrow as an eyebrow cocks "You and me both know That's not what I mean These are not your arms And that causes alarm To necromancy I am not green So please my dear, cut the crow"
>>183638 Kira takes point again. Silver gets in behind her because they'll need a pony who can speak Cyrillic/Severyanan when they encounter the Stalliongraders.
>>183638 >>183642 Dust will be in the middle near Posey, mainly to keep an eye on the mare. And hopefully to get some answers Are we getting ready to do combat? I need to know like now cause I was just asked if I could go do something
>>183638 I had put Brie in a flanking position wrt Kira before the sheep. He would revert there, assuming this gets reaolved, but emhe still has the sheep at 25' gunpoint
>>183651 I hope you and all appreciate, Im not trying to be cruel. i am starting with 'business as usual' for Brie, increasingly as he goes down tbe rabbit hole, both morally and existentially. Having said,... >>183638 Pop pop I'll roll an attCk roll, but Brie would kinda yeah
>>183655 Rosey makes an attack of opportunity to disarm with her halberd Brie bas he fires [1d20+5 = (18+5) = 23] With a free action Demoralize check Intimidate [1d20+17 = (3+17) = 20] Also DC 21 Frightful Presence
Both of her Dreads make disarm AoOs Sword [1d20+7 = (9+7) = 16] Bow (Claw) [1d20+3 = (20+3) = 23]
>>183650 Sorrel "Yeah, I don't really know zebras very well, but I do think it would have been better if the princesses had focused on, you know, killing changelings."
>>183638 Size advantage is now nullified. Rolling [1d20+99 = (18+99) = 117] opposed cuteness
Vir smirks.
"Well what should we do with a cute filly like me then?" Vir says gets low like a predator while closing the gap between them. "Does she deserve to be pet?"
>>183661 >>183660 You didn't specify a target: who takes the AoO? Posey, or her two minions? Also, Will saves for the Demoralize and Frightful Presence.
>>183667 AoO is resolved before the action. One of the Dreads rolled a Nat 20 to disarm you, do you were not able to shoot, unless you roll another nat 20 to oppose the disarm.
The thing about a fluid trap supression system is that it ISNT quiet, its just not unbearably loud. Instead of a gunshot, a loud clapping of the hooves
Why does Posey have these bullshit "hey I get two extra free attacks with free hands at full attack bonus while I can use my hands hooves to cast spells just because hehe"?
Why is Brie within Posey's AoE radius when he can literally fly and there are no physical impediments to him moving away?
I mean I guess if you're having fun, then sure, it's fine. But it's mind boggling to me.
Also to reiterate, Brie would be operating on a ready action to operate a firearm. There is no way Rpsey can position themselves to intercept without intercepting now (which will be bad, I warned you about this)
>>183664 "They're even worse than I made them out to be, they're loathsome, detestable, hate able, Nature's mistake. Look at zebrica, they didn't even have the wheel there, before We found them on the Worst continent to ever exist."
>>183669 "Umm, I don't know what you are talking about..." Bluff [1d20+14 = (20+14) = 34] "Is this about my helpers here?" She says, referring to her I can assure you that they are harmless." >>183671 >Why are you engaging in PvP over a stupid sheep? Because I like the sheep, and Posey believes it is a sign of fate. If I intended PvP, I would have just attacked his body, not disarm. >Why does Posey have these bullshit "hey I get two extra free attacks with free hands at full attack bonus while I can use my hands hooves to cast spells just because hehe"? She's not casting any spells. She did cast any last combat either (she cast chill touch before the fight). >Why is Brie within Posey's AoE radius when he can literally fly and there are no physical impediments to him moving away? He said he was next to Kira, and Posey is right behind Kira. Posey also has a reach weapon. >>183673 Posey is right next to you. And you said your readied action was if it ran away. It did not run away.
>>183671 >free hands Are you referring to the Dreads? The Artaaglith animated them back in the swamp. They've been folded up in Posey's bag ever since. They are not full attack bonus. >>183675 Do not kill the sacred sheep. The sheep is Rosey's friend.
>>183689 >raising the dead "I do not know any such spell. My knowledge of reanimation is purely hypothetical." (This is not a lie, unlike Clerics, who get it at lvl 5, Dread Necromancers only get animate dead at lvl 8)
"But I do know of it. In fact, I could talk about it all day." She says, with a bit of a geeky expression "What sort of questions can I help you with?"
>>183693 Uhm, sorry, but fuck your dreads. Addy has dreds, is she in play? No. So anyway. I would attempt to discourage you, but this is what, our 12th?
>>183688 Tricky: "Wow... You know, I saw a zebra as a cook in a restaurant I went to see if there was help wanted. And I thought, or really, I am thinking, why does that zebra get the roll and not me? I am a better cook, surely, as is Sorrel here... I hadn't really thought of it that way until you said something about it... But yeah, you're right."
>>183681 >Do not kill the sacred sheep. The sheep is Rosey's friend. Oh, but Mala can just be run off when he's in the way
>>183683 Oh it's going to run. It ain't going to stick around
>>183689 Mala cautiously moves up "Another undead hunter?"
>>183695 >>183697 Brie gets the sense that the sheep is popular.
Perhaps his best move is to speak in person as to why the sheep should not be so popular
>>183699 "Alright, I'll TRY to emphasize why this sheep needs to die. Am I being hyperbolic in my phrasing? Certainly! Does the sheep possess unwarranted knowledge? Uncontestably
If the disarm is successful, Posey uses her other Dread to shoo away the sheep with a Run action (it has Frightful Presence), while Brie is still disarmed.
>>183699 Dark Star Sneers as she talks about the zebra in the kitchen cooking food "Filth, i bet they don't even wash their filthy striped hooves degenerate scum." He smiles at them then says "I bet you two could, make the best waffles."
>>183506 "The way you describe it implies that this 'Far Realm' you know of is larger than our own universe.", Cavaliere remarks.
>>183502 He also notices Mala's remark and the cleric's response. "I don't see any good reason to butcher and eat sapient creatures," he comments to Silver with evident disapproval. "I am a griffon and I eat meat, while you are a pony. Where are your harmonist morals and why are you dismissing one of those most basic principles as a mere 'social norm'?"
>>183514 >Can we identify any of them, or are they unknown, ambiguous homebrew aberrations? I would assume you need ranks in dungeoneering knowledge to even try.
>>183518 >Reminder that a camera was a part of the given equipment for the mission I forgot who took it
>>183522 >>183530 "I am surprised any livestock has survived this long on an abandoned island," he mutters.
>>183638 >>183701 Cavaliere sticks with Silver, abetter of cannibals or not, and discusses the approach to the village with him. Mainly, that as Silver is the only one to speak Severanyan he is their sole interpreter. Stealth is useless now because of the gunshots and an open, honest approach would be best. Silver should talk with the Commissar but the party should keep an avenue open for retreat since communists cannot be trusted. Of course, he should stick with the pirates alibi and under no circumstances admit working for New Baltimare. The griffon sealers should be kept hidden and away from the village.
>>183717 I think Dark Star should tone down the rhetoric if he wants to get anywhere with the average pony
>>183726 I'll be clear. So long as you are about to shoot this sheep, I will use every method at my disposal to prevent it. My characters actions are just as valid as yours. A ranged attacks provoke AoO, and both of Posey's minions can fly. >>183723 Go buy one then.
>>183736 >bullshit cheese How is a disarm check bullshit cheese? It's basically SRD material. >>183738 >Or risk getting shot I'll take it if the sheep gets away in that time.
"I will not let you harm to this sheep. This sheep is a messenger of fate. Stand down."
>>183690 "I need to know of those practicing necrotic arts To prepare an end for thier farce For the rumors, on my people, fear impart So if you could please my question parse And reveal to me for what I yearn So of the truth I can learn" I was trying to give you an out so I didn't have to kill you for being undead! Reeeeeee take the bone when it's thrown to you sometime! No this is unresolvsd! >>183699 Dust's head whips to the Hyena as he shoots a look of "you too?"
Hooves step on the ground. Air quivers and waves behind the party. Muttering sounds can be heard
While everyone in the group was watching the sheep, and a fight over the sheep, something has walked through the fog
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight ponies have walked up in front of the group in a line. One near the center wears white and has a white hat. He holds a revolver. Three behind him wear green tinted uniforms, and hold long rifles. And another four carry wrenches or no weapons at all, all in blue uniforms. Their eyes are shot. They shake. They mutter to themselves. But they hold themselves up, in a ready position.
Behind the group, black circles appear in the air, and from them comes the smell of fire.
Large, canine-like creatures with humped backs, pointed ears and bat-like faces, and fire that periodically rises from their backs like burning coals, besides glowing orange eyes.
>>183748 Dust is looking obviously fustrated at this point "Perhaps this shall wait until another day When we are out of the fray But pray heed you little mare Do not awaken a sleeping bear" He picks up his flail and whips around in time to see ponies emerging from the fog. >>183749 Dust's withers slump. Dear Zanit he's really starting to regret joining the crack-team. Initiative [1d20 = 20]
>>183760 >tfw no initative bonus and still going first Feels good man. Dust readies himself to cast.... A spell, but before I pick said spell. Knowledge religion, Dust wants to know if these ponies are possessed or if they just look really bad. Also I guess those hounds are a concern. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm getting my undead.... [1d20+9 = (17+9) = 26]
>sheep I interpreted hearing voices as a short-lived gag because Posey believed the sheep to be an avatar of that goat-demon-thing. It seemed purely comedic and Posey rolled with that but Brie, in-character, treated it seriously. It should have been let go before it turned into PvP, non-lethal or not. The safest place for the sheep would be anywhere on the island the party isn't at, because the party is headed towards hungry communists and is currently fighting demon-things. Also, the party has a voracious carnivore and a paranoid schizophrenic bat.
>>183764 Awwwwww.... I don't have antioutsider spells. Regardless, Dust is even more mad at this. However, instead of attacking himself he makes his way over to Kira. He looks her in the eyes as he reaches a hoof to touch her weapon. She can see a blue glow travel from the earth, through Dust's three planted hooves, into his fourth hoof and into her bow. It feels noticeably colder. "I hope for now this will suffice To imbue your bow with the essence of ice" All arrows will do an extra +1d6. He then readies himself in front of Kira to defend her until his next turn
>>183771 Dust is hit with a wrench in the flank as he's trying to help Kira. Although his armor prevents it from being too bad, it's still gonna bruise in a few minutes and hurt like a bitch.
>>183771 The hellhound bites down on Silver, only to find a mouth full of flak jacket and no pony flesh to speak of.
Kira noodles her way out of the way of the hoof attack, looking at the sailor with pleading eyes. "Please, don't do this! Fight the Traveler, fight him!"
>>183771 >>183777 The pony with a rifle misses. Cavaliere draws his revolver in the blink of an eye and blasts off two rounds at his assailant. [1d20+7 = (20+7) = 27] [2d6 = 7] [1d20+7 = (4+7) = 11] [2d6 = 9]
>>183786 >>183780 Kira gasps in shock and horror at seeing the pony slump down, dead. She stares at the fallen creature, eyes wide and pupils shrunken.
>>183786 Poor pupper... >>183787 Posey commands her dreads to fly towards the rifle ponies and disarm them Frightful Presence DC 12 Longsword [1d20+7 = (2+7) = 9] Halberd [1d20+4 = (5+4) = 9]
She shouts out to the hellhounds, in infernal [r]"निष्ठावान् श्वापदाः अग्निम् अयच्छन्ति, एते टट्टूः उन्मत्ताः अभवन्, अयोग्याः स्वामिनः च सन्ति। तेषां कृते स्वस्य च कृते पलायस्व"
In case that didn't translate well, she told the hellhounds to surrender, because their masters have gone mad and there is no reward for their loyalty.
Rosey Ring herself takes a move action to get within 10 ft of the captain and riflemen.
She then Casts Aching Dread, and Aberrant spell that causes overwhelming fear. She does this in hope of overpowering the influence of the Traveller with her own, or at least get them to drop their weapon.
1st level: Aching Dread Necromancy [Fear, Mind-Affecting] Level: Cerebrant 1 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: 10 ft. Targets: All enemies in a 10-ft. radius burst centered on you. Duration: 1 round/level Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: Yes Your mere presence alters the psychological landscape of the surrounding aether, injecting it with unseen phantasms and suggestions of danger born of cyclopean vistas. All creatures within the area are stricken with a feeling of horrible dread that causes them to become shaken for the duration. Cerebrotic Escalation: Instead of merely attempting to shake your foes, on a failed save they are frightened (for 1 round/level). However, if you attempt this escalation, you must succeed on a DC 13 Will save. On a failed save, the spell fails and is lost, and instead you are frightened for 1 minute.
She escalates it Will [1d20+9 = (7+9) = 16]
Save DC 21 for the enemy.
This also triggers her frightful presence. Save DC 21.
>>183790 Assuming Posey's turn is over, Kira slithers back 5 feet out of the threatening range of the pony in front of her. She draws three arrows, firing two in the first draw and one by itself at the hellhound in front of Silver.
>>183801 I didn't know hellhounds could speak "नरककुक्कुराः तारास्पाउन् सेवन्ते? अहं भवतः निष्ठायाः प्रशंसा करोमि, परन्तु यदि भवतः मार्गे बाधा भवति तर्हि भवतः सम्यक् म्रियते!" She levitates a bone over "अस्थि?"
>>183798 Two hit, but bounce off of its hide. But the third one finds purchase.
>>183808 Power Attack: With the hellhound still up, Silver raises his sword above his head for another might blow, the blade crashing into the ground where the hellhound is, whether the hellhound gets hit or not.
>>183808 >To some small degree, yes What is a small degree? Do they gain the frightened condition from the spell That escalates to panicked if they also lost the save vs her presence, not the penalty on saves from the frightened condition.
If they're frightened, they have to flee and cannot attack for the duration. If they're panicked, they drop whatever they are holding.
Dreadful Wrath should come into affect before the spell.
I don't mean to nitpick, but I need to know if my tactics are effective if I'm going to continue to spend precious spell slots next encounter.
Is it my turn then? Dust is mad about getting hit in the flank, like, pretty mad. He decides to to take a page out of Silver's book. With an incredible, almost excessive and reckless windup, Dust raises his flail and attempts to crack it over the pony that hit him. Using full power attack (-4 to hit, +8 dmg) [1d20+5 = (15+5) = 20] [1d10+14 = (5+14) = 19]
>>183816 Whack Dust immediately knocks the pony on the head, and knocks him out
>>183811 These are not standard monsters, they are all under mind control. And what is mind controlling them is of the same nature as the type of scare that Posey is using. So are they supposed to be affected because they are getting an even more harsh dose of the same as what the puppeteer is giving them? Are they actually mostly under their own volition, and thus pretty normally vulnerable? Is Posey actually just showing the puppeteer these images, and thus they will be shrugged off?
This is on top of questions about how the fear affect actually works, like how many hit die a creature must have in order to be affected by it.
It's a hell of a lot of dice and numbers and things to think about
>>183813 Attack of Opportunity, because Brie has to blatantly pass the pony that is standing right in front of him to do this [1d20+3 = (3+3) = 6] [1d3+1 = (1+1) = 2]
>>183819 >they are all under mind control Mind control shouldn't make you immune to fear. >It's a hell of a lot of dice and numbers and things to think about Take your time.
>>183788 Cavaliere glances over to the lamia, regret briefly flashing over his stoic face.
>>183830 Isn't he next to Silver and therefore one of the hellhounds? His first shot would have provoked an attack of opportunity. Anyway, although he is out of reach of the fire, he leaps back (takes a five-foot step) away from the left hellhound (hopefully not into proximity of one of the pony puppets!) and pulls the trigger twice on the large creature, aiming for the head. [1d20+7 = (12+7) = 19] [2d6 = 2] [1d20+7 = (18+7) = 25] [2d6 = 7]
>>183847 >The rifles used by the marines are affixed with bayonets, and thus do not provoke attacks of opportunity Idk if that's how ranged attacks work in 3.5e, but whatever. It's my turn anyway, so I'll just do it now.
Posey charges towards the officer and attempts to disarm him with a slam attack She risks an AoO from the wrench guy. [1d20+7 = (11+7) = 18]
Sword Dread attempts to disarm a rifleman [1d20+7 = (18+7) = 25] Halberd Dread does the same [1d20+4 = (18+4) = 22]
>>183852 I'm gonna guess no? Bless would have a 6 minute duration (10 rounds) and I thin between the first combat and the party playing shear the sheep we've wasted 6 minutes in universe. Probably
The sword fails for the simple reason of its opposed creature is dead
Halberd I am going to auto succeed because Brie is hugging that one, and the rifle being used is so insanely large that there's no way he could continue to hold it while being hugged
Okay, I am reallocating Sword dread to the Officer AoO [1d20+3 = (20+3) = 23] [2d6 = 4] Opposed [1d20+3 = (7+3) = 10]
>>183852 I would say yes, but dear God did you all spend so damn long on that stupid sheep.
[1d2 = 1] If 1, then yes. If 2, then no.
>>183850 He's not in range for either an AoO or for her frightful presence, both of which I believe have ranges of 5 feet.
