Welcome back to the Latest Thread of Occupied Equestria
Onyx, Spark and Brie settle down for the night in a cabin in the woods along with a set of recently rescued ponies, saved from Changeling cocoons, as well as the changelings who sought to take them captive, who are themselves locked away as captives.
In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, Iron, and now Midnight Lily do their last preparations before seeking to take on a creature smuggling operation in a port-side neighborhood

>>114580Ok, but I hope your day will get better.
>>114580It's been alright. Sorry to hear your day isn't.
>>114584>>114583>>114582>>114581Well thank you
Nopony wants to play today, right?
>>114585I need the Night!
Or at least the middle portion of it.
>>114585I'm always up to play, but if you need time to yourself I don't think any of us will hold it against you.
>>114587>>114588Okay... so, I think that Silver and Dark Star were going back to the main building
That ended rather disappointingly.... but whatever >>114589Eeyup, to join up with the others and see if they're alright.
Sorry. At least you'll be able to plan out proper encounters, now. >>114591>>114590Okay. Because this is a building about the size of a city hospital comprised of three smaller buildings in tandem with a waterfront on one side, specify as precisely as possible as to which part of of the building they go to, or which approach they take
>>114592I defer to Dark Star for what he decides.
>>114593>>114592He takes them back to the door they were at before.
>>114594Okay. It’s a walk around. The door is closed
>>114593>>114595"See if it'll budge,silver."
[1d20+2 = 13]>>114595>>114596Strength: Silver nods, and attempts to force open the door.
>>114597It moves, but hits an end. It is locked. The lock strains
>>114597"Buck."
>>114598Are there any windows around?
>>114599Slightly higher off the ground, yes
>>114597>>114600"Give me a boost up and i'll unlock the Door."
>>114601There are no windows to the same room (this is the covered external loading area)
>>114602He'll make his way into the room
>>114602>>114601Silver once again nods as he steps under the window.
>>114604>>114603Windows are evenly spread on either side of the sort of “shed” or garage attacked to the building. Windows of glass about six feet or so above ground level
Which side of the loading bay is he on? >>114604>>114605Dark Star steps up on his bak and listens at the window
The right side? >>114608>>114607>>114606Dark Star steps up in Silver’s back, tries to balance and listen into the first window (a wide glass window with blinds down) to the right of the loading bay.... and then he slips. And falls. Right off of Silver’s back. Onto the pavement
>>114610Silver rushes over to aid him. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
>>114611"I think im alright, the only thing hurt is my pride."
>>114612The unicorn offers him a hoof to get up with. "Ah, some rest and your pride will be back to normal. Now, ready to try again?"
>taps mic a few times
>Clears throat
>Leans in
Zigger
[1d20+5 = 24]>>114613"Yea Let's get in there."
He grabs the hoof and stands up then tries again
>>114616Whatever Dark Star just tried, he probably succeeded at. Uh, what is he trying to do?
>>114617Racism only makes me stronger you fool.
>>114618Trying to listen for any noise in the other side.
>>114619NO, YOU CANNOT TAKE RACISM AS A CLERIC DOMAIN
>>114620Faint crying, and a machine sound
>>114621I'LL TAKE WHATEVER I WANT AS A CLERIC DOMAIN!
>>114621Does it sound like its inside the room or in another room deeper in?
>>114624Ok then, he trys to open the window and go inside.
>>114621>>114622So... Can I head into the living room?
>>114626Onyx is definitely there, watching over the sleeping horsies.
>>114626>>114628Only Rose, thus far, seems to have fallen asleep. Dawson briefly gets up to go to the fire, slowly limping to the fireplace, and tossing in a few pieces of wood. Red Wine has placed himself on the couch and is lying down, while Ruby is trying to make a space for himself in what parts of the couch are not claimed by Red Wine. The two little changeling Nymphs watch Dawson approach their general area cautiously
>>114629"Hmm...can you get look through it? Is there anyone inside this room?"
>>114631"I Heard crying."
>>114630is there a gap at the bottom of the blind?
>>114632Almost no, but sort of yes. Less than half an inch
>>114630I go over to Dawson.
"Are you all going to be alright?"
>>114633>>114634"Barely."
He peeks through the tiny gap
>>114635He turns around to whoever spoke to him, wobbling around slowly
"I am alright..."
He looks at Spark carefully
"Are you the one who was... interrogating the... 'prisoners'?"
>>114636It's a bit hard to see, but this much is evident:
Large room, very large with perhaps no wall perceptible. Mostly lights are off, some light on far end. Tables, they have something on them. No standing creatures obvious, but who knows what is obscured by objects or darkness
>>114637"Yes. My name is Spark. You won't have to worry about them. We will be taking them far away from here. In the mean time, is there anything I can do for you?"
>>114639He closes his eyes and shakes his head
"Why are they in my bedroom? They should be dead"
>>114638"What does lock on window look like, if you can tell?"
>>114641>>114640Dark Star examines the lock.
>>114642It's on the inside at the bottom of the window. It seems like it is probably a key lock mechanism
>>114641"Its a key lock, it looks like."
>>114644"Damn, that means I can not just use my telekinesis to unlock it..." He sighs. "It is risky, but you might be able to bash it open with weapon. It will make noise, and you would need to clear it very well to avoid getting cut to shreds, but..."
>>114645"Lets look for another way in, we will use that as a last resort."
>>114640"We have a use for them on our particular mission. Again, they will be long gone soon enough. Now, can I get you anything?"
>>114646Silver nods. "You lead, I follow. Let us find other way in."
[1d20 = 11]>>114648Dark Star looks for any other ways in
Perception
its storming outside i might lose internet
>>114649>>114650Their close proximity to the massive building greatly limits their perception to only what is within line of sight. From this side, they do see a simple white door at ground level, though it doesn't look promising
>>114651Awww
>>114652Dark Star trots over to it.
>>114651I hope that doesn't end up being the case.
>>114650>>114653Perhaps 3 feet wide, painted white, and possibly made of metal
>>114655Dark Star twists the handle.
>>114658"Should I try busting my way in? Or should we try elsewhere? I remember Blue mentioned something about potential sewer entrance..."
>>114659"Lets head to the entrance."
>>114660"Alright. If my memory serves me right, she said it was by waterfront, or in water itself."
>>114661Dark Star leads them to the entrane
>>114662>>114661Ascertaining the precise location of any entrances from beyond the waterline is not really possible. But finding the waterline itself is not terrible difficult. The waterline something around 50 yards from the set of buildings, past grass, dormant trees, and a small area enclosed by a low stone wall that seems to be a graveyard or something to that effect, and the stone remnants of what was probably a garden, there is a simple seawall along most of the sea side, and some areas where rocks meet the ocean harbor
>>114663Dark Star says as they pass by the graveyard
"I Hope these ponies are resting."
>>114664Silver nods in agreement. "If I were building sewer grate, I would build it right along seawall."
[1d20 = 11]>>114665Dark Star looks for the entrane
[1d20+3 = 19]>>114666 (checked)
Spot: Once again, Silver assists.
>>114666>>114667The shoreline is more straight than not, although areas where the land contacts the water in naked rocks show more fluid and natural changes. However, the area that is just opposite of the center and dormitory buildings has seawall, which seems to be very old black stone, with some areas on the top replaced with concrete.
Along the seawall there is a small area of level stone that effectively makes a walkway parallel to the top of the seawall, about at the level of the water at high tides (which is now). Where the seawall begins on the side the two ponies approach, there is a small stone step of beige that walks down to this little walkway by the sea.
Now here is where things are interesting. There is a small boat - white, a row boat. It looks like it could be a life boat or a small rowing fishing boat - by the walk way. There are several creatures in it, and several creatures standing on the walkway. A couple griffins and a couple.... well, a couple creatures neither has ever seen before, and we can leave it at that. Inside the boat are something like five creatures and one sitting up. They have no lighting with them.
As for an entrance, it appears that there is a very large one. It's a tunnel that approximates a storm drain, with a circular entrance and massive bars blocking the entrance. It is fairly high in the water, being about 1/4 submerged, and would probably be completely above water at low tide. It doesn't quite make sense as a storm drain, partly because an entirely seperate storm drain exit is vissible much further down past the seawall, and it has a much smaller exit tube. The tunnel is at least tall enough for a pony to walk through, and likely is an older part of the structure that had some purpose back in the days that this was a fortress or military prison, but has since been barred up, and otherwise appears to be an over sized storm drain or sewage pipe
>>114647He looks back at Spark, trembling, and silent for a moment. Then he says
"Maybe some water..."
>>114668>>114666Silver glances over in Dark Star's direction and gets low upon seeing the creatures by the boat. As expected, he keeps his voice low. "Дерьмо! I see traffickers further down. It is your call on what we do."
>>114670"Of course. Just point me in the right direction."
>>114672He points a hoof to his right and Spark’s far left
“There should be cans of water over by the stove. I hope they haven’t frozen over or gone empty. If they have you may have to melt some snow”
>>114671Dark Star ducks down.
"There aren't enough of us here to open fire. lets watch them and see where they go."
>>114674Silver nods, and watches the traffickers' actions.
>>114673Spark goes over to the stove and checks the cans.
>>114674>>114671One of the creatures goes up to the bars, and starts carefully unscrewing the ends (even though they look as if they are cemented in place and rusted). He is able to simply take out the bars, and fairly quickly after unlocking something unseen in the darkness. The bars are removed, and they pull the boat over, creatures still inside, and actually start to pull the boat inside the tunnel, making use of the water level brought by the high tides
>>114676At least one can, half full of what seems to be good water
>>114677"Well, looks like we won't be going that way,for now."
>>114677Spark levitates the can to Dawson.
"Looks like we are going to need a bit more. I'll be back soon."
Spark then heads outside to look for a bucket.
>>114677>>114678There's a gleam in Silver's eyes. "Or...that is
exactly where we will go." He looks back to Dark Star. "But, it is up to you. You are leader, after all."
>>114680"What are you thinking? We follow them?"
