Welcome back to the Latest Thread of Occupied Equestria
Onyx, Spark and Brie settle down for the night in a cabin in the woods along with a set of recently rescued ponies, saved from Changeling cocoons, as well as the changelings who sought to take them captive, who are themselves locked away as captives.
In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, Iron, and now Midnight Lily do their last preparations before seeking to take on a creature smuggling operation in a port-side neighborhood

So I was thinking about having a pointy witch for my chracter. The twist is that the hat is actually my mimic familiar.
Be like.
>Put your hoof into my hat and see what you will pull up.
>Oh, it seems you pulled off your hoof rather than pulling something up.
>No, refunds for the magic trick.
I'm just joking. I will have a huge constrictor snake as my familiar.
>>114814It's admittedly funny, tbh, but you'll probably have to invest in disguises.
>>114816Are there poners who would be against me having a mimic as a pet?
>you'll probably have to invest in disguises.Or what do you mean?
>>114817I meant for the joke option. Taking the ponies' hooves is unconstitutional and would mean life sentence for your
atrocious crimes against equinity. As for the actual option, use the hat to hide the snek if possible, or make it look like a non-pet being.
>>114818>mean life sentence for your atrocious crimes against equinity.Yeah, I don't know if I wanna be a fugitive the first thing in the story or maybe that could be fun.
>As for the actual option, use the hat to hide the snek if possible, or make it look like a non-pet being.I thought I could just have it slither besides me as I went about my day. You mean that ponies will have a problem with that. Well, clearly they need to become more tolerant.
>>114820While the ponies are quite tolerant, I don't expect them to accept slithering snakes that could constrict a pony into submission, and call the pest exterminators.
Better have its ID handy just for lulz. That will make them flabbergasted.
For the fugitive route it sounds quite fun, but be mindful the Baltimares are working with the newly established law that is the Black Hooves.
>>114820If it’s a large snake, have it wrap itself around your pony’s barrel, then cover him over with a cloak or trench coat.
>clearly they need to become more tolerant. When the latest of the ascended princesses, Princess Twilight, told the ponies of the land that Friendship means looking past physical differences to extend harmony to all sentient creatures, many joined her. Many of them agreed but only to an extent - they remained chauvinistic in their understanding of friendship, willing to admit other creatures but only so long as they acted like good ponies. And many, as there are in every society, resisted change, and believe that friendship is best left to the ponies.
>>114823>If it’s a large snake, have it wrap itself around your pony’s barrel, then cover him over with a cloak or trench coat.Nice, I had thought about it.
>Lore Thanks, then I know. But I rather learn lore in-chracter but I guess it is okay since it seems to be common knowledge.
>>114825Well, your character seems to be one that has grown up in the game’s main setting, so there’s a lot of information that you might not know that your character likely would
>giant snake familiar
I'm having an odd sense of deja vu....
>"Same"
>>114828> your character seems to be one that has grown up in the game’s main settingThere is nothing that I have said that indicates this yet but you are right. In fact, I have a question for the GM regard that my chracter knows things that I don't.
Does new mareland have and magic academia or something similar since my character is a wizard. I would like her to have gotten/getting her spellcasting education from there.
>>114829I don't get it:)
>>114833Ah, inside joke with the GM. You don't have to worry.
>>114833A little background on New Mareland. Formerly the Dominion of New Mareland, it was a colony of Equestria but has now reversed the situation. It’s culturally, ethnically and religiously rather similar to Equestria and is settled on the edges of the griffin lands on the continent of Griffonia. Their economy was dependent in large part on the Griffonian empire and so fell apart when that empire collapsed. They find the new griffin kingdoms that have arisen there to be threatening, and also do not like the hordes of griffin immigrants who compete for precious few jobs and who might serve as a “fifth column” for an invasion. The wildlife is harsher there, and ponies defend themselves from it more often. They are also further away from the princesses both literally and metaphorically than average equestrians.
Yes, there would be magic academies there. Sunset, which is kind of like a pony version of Sydney, Australia, is the capital there and has the biggest university. However, the real top of the line pony magicians go to the university in Canterlot, and most big cities - Manehattan, Fillydelphia, and even Baltimare - have big universities.

>>114835Okay, so the old Equestria is gone, right? And changelings and the new goverment has split the remained of the old Equestria.
Which one of thes universiteies are closest to the changeling border.
Is this new pony goverment at war with the the changelings as in are they trying to retake their lands?
>>114836Well, the Principality of Equestria is gone, meaning the government, the princesses, and the elements of Harmony (the ponies who represented them) are gone. The equestrian ponies, the Lands, their institutions, and in many cases even the local governments have survived, at least on the New Mareland side.
>are they at war to reclaim lost pony landsThe situation is closest in nature to occupied Poland during the Molotov Ribbentrop pact between September 1939 and June 1941. Another comparison would be occupied Germany immediately after world war 2. Basically, the two powers were recently co-belligerents or allies who fought together against Equestria, and ultimately split the country in half. Right now, there is peace between the Changelings and the Ponies, and the Pony government is actually still at war with different griffin based nations across the ocean. But the Changelings and the ponies are ideologically opposed, and there is every reason to believe this peace will not last.
Canterlot is right next to the border, with the border (in at least one version of the map) actually running along that river that goes right through ponyville. Bales and Hoofington would also be right along the border. The university in Sunset is almost as far away from the changelings as you can get and still be in the Ponish speaking world.
>>114836Of course, if you don’t want to be told lore, you can make a character who is not from the game’s setting, and this learns about the world at the same time as you the player, while allowing you to mostly invent your own civilization for her to come from.
>>114837What happens to the ponies in the occupied areas of Equestria? Like do changelings in this universe feed on love and cacoons them or do they simply kill them or what.
>>114838No, this is perfect. Don't worry about it.
>>114839>what happens to the ponies in the Changeling landsThat actually is the kind of question that’s probably best explored in character. But yes, these are the love draining kind of changelings
>>114840Okay, thanks for the answers. I will post the backstory for my chracter on my chracter sheet when I am done. We can discuss it more whenyou see what i ahve in mind.
>>114841We all look forward to reading it! And you can come back with anymore questions you have
>>114846>>114847Excuse me, is this the booping thread?
>>114855>>114854Hello again. I don’t know if anypony wants to play tonight... or talk about other things
>>114856If we can play tonight, I believe Spark was headed inside with the frozen water.
>>114718>>114720>>114719Silver slips into the water, and feels it not much above icy cold in the dead winter. The silt bottom, or what parts of it are not rock and I identified debris, is more black and gory than is really pleasant, probably from decaying plant matter, but possibly from bitumen or Celestia knows what.
Silver knows he has messed up, and he knows that time is of the essence. He places a forehoof onto the walkway. The uneven cement surface is a help more than a hinderance here, as it provides traction. A rock in the water provides the same to his rear hooves, and he pushes himself out and onto the walkway.
The griffin is looking straight at him. But Silver has his greatsword grasped in blue light. It flies through the air in his levitated grasp, to the griffin’s left, then, jabbed on its pommel end right into the side of his head behind his jaw. He instantly falls down, evidently unconscious, face down into the walkway. A wing and his foreclaw dip into the water, and the bar he was holding falls down into the water with a splash. Dark Star’s arrow sticks up out of the griffin’s back
There’s the question of how much sound the griffin made. I guess Silver did roll an 18, then a 20 on an attack roll, then am 18 on a conformation roll, so maybe it is fair to say that Silver got lucky this time...>>114859He does so, carrying the pail of ice back in
>>114860He sets the pot near the fire.
"I'm guessing you had this thawing out earlier by that fire?" he asks Dawson.
>>114861The two little ersatz colts, previously sitting by the fire, move away when Spark comes over to sit the pot down.
Dawson goes silent. From his expression he seems cowed. His ears are level to his back, and his eyes wide.
“No... I didn’t...”
>>114860Dark Star Drags the Griffons body into the grass while asking silver if he's ok.
>>114863Over past the tunnel entrance some 15 feet, the land edges down towards the water inelegantly, through rock, exposed mud, a set of stones that must have comprised an old, Now half collapsed sea wall, and riff-raf building material that may even be the stones from the original fortress here the dragons destroyed. The griffin is dragged upwards, over the steep set of brick and stones, which have rounded edges thanks to gradual erosion from the beating of waves, and onto the grass. He’s pretty heavy, and it requires serious effort from Dark Star to pull him up
>>114863>>114864Silver shakes himself like a dog to get rid of some of the cold water. "I am fine. Could have gone better...you need help with that?"
>>114865The thought didn’t cross my mind until after I had described the sea barrier... Dark Star can set the griffin down at times and doesn’t have too much of a time limit, so that is not really necessary
>>114866But silver should probably still help Dark Star. Hopefully no one at Hoebuck looks out a window and sees the griffin of them. Silver is still extremely cold
>>114867>>114866"Yea help me outwith this."
>>114867>>114868The unicorn lets out an involuntary shiver as the cold winter air chills his sodden coat. "I could really use nice, roaring fire right about now..." He moves over to help Dark Star with dragging the unconscious griffon away. "I have rope. Once we are finished dragging him, I can hogtie him so he will not give us too much trouble if he awakens."
>>114869"Make sure you gag him too."
"Need my Coat?"
>Argentina wants less description>spend more than a full paragraph talking about muddy water and a sea wall made out of rubbleOf Course I do. My childhood’s neighbor’s properties all had seashores covered in concrete rubble taken from industrial sites and dumped there to prevent hurricanes from washing more land away. As a child I would play skipping from one slab to the other. Why shouldn’t a fantasy world have the same?>>114869Silver is indeed cold, but he may not like what fires might await him.
>>114870>>114869The buildings of 33 Hoebuck are themselves visible from that position on the grass, next to the sea wall. There is a small number of lights on in what seems to be the third floor of dormitory building
[1d20+4 = 16]>>114870>>114871I think someone is having a flashback to that moment in every single mission we've had as a group where something gets set on fire and it turns into an inferno."Thank you, but you do not have to do that."
Use Rope: Silver uses his survival knife to cut a measure of rope, and hogtie the griffon. He's primarily concerned about getting it so the griffon can't simply use his talons to cut the bindings. He also uses the knife to cut one of the foresleeves on his fatigues up into a ribbon with which he can gag the catbird.
>>114862"Well then.... perhaps the invaders."
Spark checks the pot again to make sure it is water and not some kind of changeling stew of sorts.
>>114871dark star looks at the lights
>>114873It is indeed water. Must have been snow placed into the pot.
>>114872Silver can tie the creatire’s rear paws and foreclaws with a rope. Unless Silver has something particular in mind with that gag, the creature’s beak protrudes enough to allow the beak to be tied down
>>114874Three windows, to the left of center of the building. The building is taller than either the center building, or the workshop on the far right, and aside from smoke stacks on the workshop and the chimney of the central building, is also taller. It’s square in shape, and seems to be older, made of larger, lighter shade stones than the cement facade center building or the brick workshop. The three widows seem to have light curtains in front of them, something blocking part of the view inside but not the light
>>114875Oh shit! Hello. And why would you turn chocolate milk into regular milk you monster
>>114876Why? It's simple.
To watch you squirm.
What's going on with both my PCs?
>>114875I suppose I would normally be expected to call that the most diabolical, unfiltered evil I've ever seen, but I personally prefer whole milk to chocolate.>>114874>>114876"Alright. He should not give us any more trouble tonight." Silver stands up and moves to the seawall, where the other griffons and the boat went inside. "I might be wrong, but was there not two griffons mentioned in dossier? Sweet Boek and Stormfeather Maakie? Think that Mr. M in church was Maakie?"
>>114876"Well, at least we can use it ourselves. Just relax while it thaws out."
>>114877Onyx is lying on the floor probably bear the door, which Spark recently opened and let the cold air in. Now Spark is placing a pot over a fire probably to boil water. This has displaced the changeling nymphs near the fire, and sent them elsewhere. Dawson seems horrified by the implication of something Spark said.
Midnight is doing.,. Whatever midnight is doing. Which last I recall was nothing.
>>114879“Well... oh... okay. Is there any water in the cans?”
>>114878Boek is a unicorn >>114878>>114876"i think somepony maybe watchimg us, look at that window."
>>114880"I think there was a little left..."
Spark checks the cans.
>>114880Ah excellent, doing nothing important... Just how I like my characters...
Onyx gets up and walks around a bit, making sure the lil lings aren't causing trouble.
>>114883One can, one half full. At least half a liter
>>114882Hard to say if there is or is not a figure there
>>114884He gets up. Ruby looks over to him. The little ersatz Pegasus looks over, then scurries out of the way. Like a cat... or a cockroach. The ersatz bat pony does the same, standing in place slightly longer
[1d20+3 = 15]>>114882>>114885Spot: Silver looks where his leader directs him to, trying to make out what is in the window from where he is.
>>114885Spark levitates the can to Dawson.
"Here we are."
>>114887“Thank you”
The pony takes it with his mouth, presses a hoof against its side, sets it in the ground, then presses it against the ground as he twists the cap off with his mouth, and picks the bottle up in his mouth, drinking it. He drinks quite a bit
“Hey, give me some of that” says Red Wine, who gets up off the couch in slowed movements
>>114888>>114886It kind of looks like some creature is looking outside
>>114889>>114888"Hmm...you think that will be problem?"
>>114889Spark grabs another can and pours whatever has melted so far into it. He then levitates it to Red Wine.
>>114892He nods in agreement. "It is your call on what we do."
>>114891Red Wine has a smile on his face, and hooves outstretched. He doesn’t know where the pot came from
“Oh, thanks”
He takes the can in his hooves
>>114893"Crimes happen here all the time. let's just head into the sewer like its no big deal."
>>114894Spark nods.
"I'm sorry you all have had to experience this. You feeling ok Red Wine?"
>>114894>>114895"Hmm..." Silver takes out his binoculars and points them at the window, hoping they will give more insight into who is watching them.
>>114897Best guess is female griffin. Equine is also possible, with an extended muzzle and no protruding mane
>>114896“Tired... sad...” he looks over at Spark
Red Wine is the color of his coat, not a proper name... but who is to say it isn’t >>114895>>114898"Hmm...well, it is your call. You want me to take point again, or do you want point?"
>>114898Darn. I thought that was the name. Now I'm embaressed. But maybe it could be a nickname.
Spark goes over and hugs him.
"Does this help any?"
>>114901He feels strangely cold and shaking. He pulls back, and resists at first. But finally, he says
“.... Yes”
He coat looks dulled
>>114900>>114902And thus, Silver once again takes point.
>>114902He continues the hug.
"Just relax and sip that water."
>>114904He has big eyes that look at Spark suspiciously. But he drinks the water
>>114903So... Silver acts as sentry while something else happens?
>>114905I have no idea what that means, but okay.
>>114906I have no idea what “take point” means
>>114907You know where the boat entered by the seawall? Silver is going in there.
>>114908>>114909One vertical bar still blocks the entrance, while another is removed, creating a narrow opening. Looking inside, the floor is covered in two feet of seawater
>>114905Spark continues to comfort.
"So, are you all planning on sticking here or moving?"
[1d20+2 = 18]>>114910Strength: Silver attempts to remove the last remaining bar to give them some room.
>>114911Dawson:
“I am not going anywhere”
Red Wine:
“Move? There is no where to move to”
>>114912Silver pushes. Then pushes. Then the thing pops out of its hole, being poorly secured. It falls down into the water of the tunnel with a definite splash
>>114913"Well, I know some ponies move East. It is a tad safer that way."
[1d20+4 = 12]>>114913>>114909Move Silently: The unicorn motions for them to continue on. He tries to quietly make his way through the water.
>>114914Dawson:
“
Safer? The Hegemony forces don’t appreciate you leaving your house, let alone going across provinces and tryin’ to cross the border.”
>>114915>>114916The two wade through the water. In this part of the tunnel, it is dark. Very dark. The water is cold, and sometimes, they can feel something in the water. Zekker is a bit quieter than Silver.
>>114917"The Hegemony can't hurt you once you cross the border, and I have a bit of a knack for talking ponies through. I got 3 ponies that were previously reject from crossing to go through with a piece of paper and a smile. I could get you through if you wanted to go."
>>114918This must come as a bit of surprise to Red Wine, because he has a look of partial astonishment
“Huh... Well, there’s still getting there. And once you get over, then what? Where do you live? Where do you work?”
