>>179110>Oh yeah, it is definitely too cold for the sockless snek,"Somepony get me some yarn. I'll knit her a sock." she says, pulling the throwing-needles out of her hair bun.
>"Listen, we need to talk, in private.""Oh, fine..." Rosey Ring replies
>>179110Brie attempts to catch Silver's eye, raising his left eyebrow ever so slightly
>>179110Mala walks up towards Kira, looks down at her gut, and then walks closer to her. He places her muzzle near her head and whispers.
"Is that a pony? Or a zebra, or a donkey, or... something. It's okay. I'm not one of the ponies. I understand. I will not tell." >>179112Silver leads Posey away from the group, making sure to give the rest of the party a glare to leave them be. Once they're comfortable outside of earshot, Silver stops and looks at Posey.
Silver: "What is going on with you? Nopony, and I mean
nopony should have survived what you just went through, and now you are acting as though it had never happened in first place. I need you are not going to end up being burden on this team with health problem that should get you sent home. I just need some explanation, any at all. If you do not wish it to be known to rest of team, I will give you my word that it will not shared with anyone else."
>>179113As stated, Silver gives the party a glare to let them know to not follow them. He can handle himself.
>>179111>>179114Kira looks over at the gnoll, and smiles. She does not whisper in response. "Oh, no, nothing like that. Just a goat I bought from a farm outside of Baltimare. It's nice of you to be understanding though, being another carnivore."
>>179111>Mala closes his eyes and smiles as Posey pats him, then wags his tail."~Good boy!" she says, affectionately
She gives him an owlbear bone, pulled from her armor.
>>179115"Yeah." He looks down, then back up.
"What has it been like for you?"
>>179116Mala smiles more, and takes the bone
He is able to pretty quickly and loudly crunch the bone and eat it.
>>179115Mala lowers his head and looks away at the glare. He remains with Kira
>>179115Brie gives a look that says "Don't glare at me, that shit was fucked up!"
>>179117Aww. Silver will have to give Mala many pets to make up for that.
Kira: "Well...I'm not a big fan of ponies either running or hiding at the sight of me. Sometimes they mix it up and do both. Sometimes they'll take a chance to get to know me and realize that I'm actually super nice and friendly! I must say, it's nice though going on this mission, having so many creatures around who aren't afraid of me. It makes me feel...normal. Like I'm not a monster."
>>179115>What is going on with you?>I just need some explanation, any at all."I'm cursed." she says, flatly
"You might wonder why anypony like me would willfully pursue the study of such morbid magic. The truth is that few of us choose it, it chooses us. Necrology is a means by which we can cope with curses that were brought up on us, or darkness we were born into. For me, I am both. The same is true for my son, although his is far, far, far more dreadful, and that's why I've made it my mission to expand my powers, for his sake." She says, her face stoic
She turns
"For me, one of the symptoms of my curse involve that kind of reaction to transport over seas. It was my first plane ride, and I haven't yet learned how to deal with it. I won't get in your way."
>>179120Mala raises his ears
"Don't they see you as a monster? Are you uh...." He decides against that line of conversation, raising a paw
"You think this would help the ponies recognize you?"
>>179121>>179122It's a fair explanation regardless, and one Silver believes. He lets out a sigh, and gives Posey a pat on the shoulder. "Dark magic has corrupting influence, both on user and those exposed to it. At least that is what my daughter told me. I suppose it has also vastly enhanced your recovery speed, and thank Celestia for that at least. Alright...you can stay, though no doubt it would have been nice to know this was possibility beforehoof. I would not have had to give you mouth-to-mouth for most of ride here. That was...not pleasant. I will vouch for you, if others give you trouble about you coming along, okay?"
>>179123Even if he decided against it, he still started on it, and Kira still feels the need to reply to it.
Kira: "Some...most do, I think. I'm not a monster though, not really. Or, at least I don't want to be one. It's a bit saddening, I thought this was supposed to be
the place of Harmony and friendship. It still seems better for my tribe though than the current situation we're going through. I need to save my tribe, bring them over here where it's safe, and the pony who can do that is the governor. I'm hoping I can build enough of a reputation to get to see him, make my case for my people and my tribe. I can't fail them..."
Silver comes back with Posey after his conversation with her. He immediately goes up to Mala to give him apology pets.
Silver: "Are we not supposed to go to naval base to pick up our requested items?"
The Zeeb steps off the plane, and the second his hooves touch the ground he begins to shake a bit. This could probably be chaulked up to the cold, but in reality, when you're a cleric of the earth you prefer to keep yourself grounded whenever possible. He is very glad to be back.
He decides to go stand next to the snej. Definitely the most agreeable of the group with him so far, as long as she doesn't start throwing up any organs.
>>179125>you can stayNopony elected you leader
yet, I know this is OOC meta, not trying to influence your decisions>gets the goods"Quite right! Is there a car?" Brie is visibly relieved, in that Silver seems relieved.
>>179127>Nopony elected you leaderI vote for Silver. That's two votes. Plurality rules.
>>179124No, I simply meant that he raises one leg off of the ground>>179125"No, I mean... what you..." He stops talking when Defiant Dust nears. A second or a few later Silver approaches, and pets Mala.
Mala smiles at this
>>179128>>179127I vote for me. Let me just check these latest ballot dumps, and...
81 Million votes! I won! Yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!
>>179117>>179130Rosey Ring wipes herself off and goes to meet with the navy.
"We're we able to secure the armaments? If it's not too much, I think I would like to request one more thing: a set of blinders."
>>179130Silver: "Sorry about all of that, my friend. I wish I could have been there with you to help keep you calm on plane ride. At least you have another friend to help you with that."
Kira: "D'awwwww! So, what do you mean, Mala?" She tilts her head at the gnoll's unfinished question.
>>179129Silver will do his best to keep Brie's best interests in heart, and prove himself worthy of his trust. A pony at a truck will tell the creatures "To the armory," and its a short drive to a building nearby where a golden unicorn with glasses and a white uniform greets them.
>>179131Concerning Mala's size and dimensions, actually he should be pretty large. Ponies and pretty much all other creatures tend to hold their heads high, whereas Mala (and Kaftar in general) hold their heads outwards nearly level to the shoulder, meaning that Mala could be simultaneously shorter than most everyone else, but taller at the shoulders, much longer, and with a back that arches up around the shoulder blades. He is simultaneously very muscular, fat, and covered in floofy fur. He's bigger than most stallions, with only Silver and perhaps tenebrous being larger.
>>179133Mala smiles, then looks at him
"I do?"
He looks over towards Kira
"Let's, uh, talking about it later..."
>>179138Brie will assume the least position, fixating on preparing another pot of tea
>>179138Silver: "Yes, that especially long friend who has been very friendly with you today." At the armory, Silver greets the golden unicorn. "Hello there, we are here for our requisitioned supplies. Are you one to talk to for that, are we to assume?"
>>179138>a golden unicorn with glasses and a white uniform greets them"Greetings!" Posey says
"I am Rosey Ring. Licensed Necrologist and freelancing warmagus. I look forward to working with you." She says, totally not kissing up to the NPC who's in charge of disturbing items
>>179141>disturbing*distributing
Disturbing items would be cool too though. Posey wants a new Nightcaller or Robe Of Bones.
>>179139>>179140>>179141"Yes." The unicorn says. "My name is Tin Hat, and I understand we have a need for ammunition, medical kits, and some armor?"
>>179142"Fresh out of Night Callers. The last of them left with first fleet which headed out this morning."
>>179143Silver: "It is very nice to meet you, Tin Hat. Yes, those are what were requested, as well as two-way radio, Infantry Demolition Kits, and flares in order to complete primary objectives."
Kira: "I heard something about explosive arrows earlier."
>>179143Assuming to be done in turn, but not wanting to wait,...
"I requested the grenades. Frag, smoke, bang, it's all good. A healer's kit, a flare or two, and whatever 9mm you can spare without depriving other ponies."
>>179143"We had had also requisitioned a Feather Token and an Amber Amulet, of possible."
>"Fresh out of Night Callers. The last of them left with first fleet which headed out this morning."Posey is too surprised to be disappointed
"Just my luck. The same thing happened at my last deployment: they just fly off the shelves. I guess it's nice to hear that they're being appreciated even all the way over here though. If used strategically, they can effectively double forces."
>>179141Dust's eye twitches at the word necrologist, but he keeps it together.
>>179143"Some medical kits would be nice
But possibly better would be packs of warm
In temperatures that feel like ice
The encroaching cold can be worse than a storm
While used to healing without tools
I am not skilled at keeping patients from the cool"
Fun fact, chemical hand warmers were invented in 1923. "Yes, alright, let's see
For the lot of you, we have a two way radio, a camera, and one, two, three demolition kits.
For the lot of you, we have medical kits.
For one of you we have a box of 45 Ammo
For another, .303 Ammo.
Let me get some chemical hoof warmers...
Does anypony need flak jackets?
Some magical items are available but... for a fee."
>>179147No, but he is in the Navy, if you wish to roll seduction>>179149Silver: "How about you, Mala? Do you want flak jacket for extra protection? Oh, also we need some 12 gauge shotgun shells."
>>179144"Yes, explosive arrows."
>>179149>Some magical items are available but... for a fee."The feather token is worth the fee. You can just subtract it from our reward. If we end up not needing to use it, we will just return it."
"As for the Scorpion Amulet. Well, if it's available..." She says, fluttering her eyelashes
>seductionI'm going to charm him
and seduce him.
DC 19 will save vs charm gaze
Seduction
[1d20+8 = (11+8) = 19] >>179150Mala moves closer
"Armor would be good... I've never worn that before."
>>179152"Oh, and a box of 9mm"
>>179153If you keep rolling to seduce pretty much every male Posey comes across, I'm going to start making you roleplay out having sex with these stallions. Honestly I regret not enforcing that on that ghost Posey "seduced."
"I suppose we could have a feather token... maybe an amulet..."
Brie fails to contain his satisfaction
>>179154>If you keep rolling to seduce pretty much every male Posey comes across, I'm going to start making you roleplay out having sex with these stallions. Is that a challenge?
>not enforcing that on that ghost Posey "seduced."There's still time for that. I was going to ask them for a favor convincing Glass Horizons that the land is irreparably haunted.
>"I suppose we could have a feather token... maybe an amulet...""Oh, you are such a gentlecolt. ~Thank you." she replies, with a swoon
>>179159It's a threat. You know I'll do it.
Tin Hat smiles,
"Alright... an amulet, and a token. I'll make a note of it for Shoal Water
>>179154Silver: "Then flak jacket for our fluffy friend and comrade-in-arms."
>>179160>>179161"Oh, and some yarn, if you have any. Blinders could help too; they could keep me from getting sick on the plane again."
pls though. This campaign has become way too sexless. It was more fun when we had players who would ERP>>179162"Blinders yes, and we have sewing kits."
>>179161"Yes, but one more thing..."
>>179165Silver: "What is that, my fine friend?"
>>179162I'd still wanna see how Posey would get it on with a ghost >>179166Tin Hat goes back, and comes back hiding some object under a veil
"I understand you could use a weapon? Well, there are weapons out there that are very carefully crafted, taking many, many hours from the finest armorers, and coming from a long tradition spanning back thousands of years. They are the embodiment of the civilizations that made them, and all of their mastery and technique. To be used, the holder the holder must be trained for years, perhaps since foalhood. It requires the utmost skill. And when it is used, it delivers its blow with extreme efficiency and precision, cutting holes in its target with precision.
And sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, you just need something to
fucking die."
He lifts the veil and shows off a weapon. It looks to be a shotgun, with a square back, a long tube on the bottom, a hoofguard with lines of holes on the top, metal between, a sling, and metal bands to accept large bayonet beneath.
"The Auto-8. A bird hunting shotgun, modified by a military armorer to accept 3 more rounds of ammunition, a hoofguard, a longer tube, and fits a big, fuck-off sword beneath. It will accept 12 gauge and slugs only. Anything weaker and it won't cycle."
He hoofs it over to Mala, who examines it
"Th-thank you...?"
Mala goes about trying to replace the bayonet with the short sword Brie gave him.
>>179168>And sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, you just need something to fucking dieThis mindset is the logical conclusion of d&d HP logic where it takes three magazines to kill some monsters.
>>179168Silver: "Heh, now
that is weapon for you, Mala! Thank you, Tin Hat, I know he will put it to excellent use. I know it is lot already, but I have but one more request to increase chance of successful mission; combat stimulants. During War, soldiers would take methamphetamine tablets to stave off fatigue and maintain energy during bitterly cold winter nights or on long marches. If we had some on hoof, we could distribute them to navy ponies to ensure they will have energy to survive cold and make their escape from island."
"Does anycreature need armor?"
>>179171Mala smiles, taking a look at the new weapon
Tin Hat:
"Yes, I think we can requision that."
>>179172"I already have armor. It doesn't look good, but it assists me well with my magic."
>>179172Kira: "I'm good already. I know this studded leather armor isn't the best in the world, but it lets me move around freely and doesn't impact my ability to use a bow."
Silver continues to examine the weapon given to Mala. "This really is beautiful firearm. I had heard of these existing but have not yet had pleasure of seeing one until now."
>>179165Sex isn't real numbnuts, it's all storks. Sex was a lie made up by women to longhouse men.>>179172Dust simply shakes his head no, he'll put on his armor when they get closer.
>>179173Well, the party includes a griffin, a zebra, and a lamia. Toss in the gnoll and the party has similar demographics to London.
>>179174"Well, alright then."
>>179175He shrugs
"Alright"
Picking up the Auto-8, Silver can immediately feel the imperfections in the design. It's heavy. The free-floating barrel means that both the tube and the hoof guard have to be held in place by steel stints, and the bayonet is below the tube, giving it a bit of an angle when stabbing. The entire design would work better on a pump-action shot gun.
And yet, the reasoning is obvious. A quadruped like Mala can't effectively move and use a pump action. But he
can move and shoot an automatic.
The whole thing would be brutal as a club or as a glave.
>>179176"You need anything besides healing kits?" He asks the zebbruh
>>179178The zebra thinks for a moment
"Are there anny potions you can spare?
They would make the mission easier to bear."
>>179178>Toss in the gnoll and the party has similar demographics to London.I think the Gnoll is the most quintessentially London character.
>"You need anything besides healing kits?" He asks the zebbruh"Healing Belts are good. I don't use them because of my mama allergy though."
"Wands are always useful, particularly Lesser Vigor."
>>179179Potions are overpriced. You're better off using scrolls or wands.
>>179178Silver gives the shotgun back to Mala. "You are starting to look lot like me, Mala, with your swords, shotgun, and flak jacket."
Kira is still curious about the explodey arrow things.
>>179179Looking back and tilting his head
"Perhaps. What
kind of potions?"
>>179180>the Gnoll is the most quintessentially London charactergaspMy gnoll isn't from London!
>>179184"Healing, buffs, cures, or boons
Anything to help recover the balloon."
"Oh, and a hoof full of grenades. Fragmentation and smoke."
>>179187Mala smiles and wags his tail, then tilts his head
"Really?"
Tin Hat sighs
"I think
something could be done with that."
>>179187"Healing was recommended" He says
>>179188Silver pets the adorable gnoll's head. "Really."
somehow, Brie is eating a pulled-pork bbq sammich
"Mmmm, mmm mmmmmm, mmmmmm mmmmmmm."
(Oh, you're good, I'm in no hurry.)
>>179184>What kind of potions?"Conviction. Guidance Of The Avatar. Fleetfoot. Eagle's Splendor. Enlarge Pony...... Shocking Grasp."
Okay, I know you all were fighting or joking or whatever earlier, but it may actually make sense if the party had a designated leader, or at least, somepony to handle out the items
>>179192>Conviction. Guidance Of The Avatar. Fleetfoot. Eagle's Splendor. Enlarge Pony...... Shocking GraspMaybe
>Enlarge PonyThis one specifically is peak "I am curious to see what you do with it"
>>179190Mala smiles
>>179191Both Silver and Kira look over at the bat eating what is clearly a meat sandwich, and both in unison go, "Mmmm, that looks good." Both then look blankly at each other after in an awkward staredown as Kira replies first.
Kira: "...what?"
Silver: "What?"
>>179194D'awwwwwwwwwww. Also, it seems Silver has unintentionally made himself a sort of leader of the party.
>>179196Meta, it makes sense. We have a diverse group, and the greatest common denominator is what we should try to structure around. Afaik, that's Silver, who OOC Brie would at the very least, negotiate with and try to reason with in a conflict, and otherwise be willing to take direction from
>>179193"I requested grenades."
>>179194>Enlarge Pony>This one specifically is peak "I am curious to see what you do with it"Really? You didn't question why Posey would want to drink a bottle of Shocking Grasp?
Enlarge Person is a good buff.
>it may actually make sense if the party had a designated leaderI wasn't joking. It streamlines things to have a decisionist.
I nominate Silver, because his player has been playing for the longest.
Also, he's higher level than the rest of us, which means that we can benefit from commander auras.
https://www.realmshelps.net/adventuring/combat/morale.shtmlDoes Silver have a Commander Aura selected?
>>179198I've never heard of it and the post was not marked as being from Posey. Honestly I thought it was Defiant Dust who asked based on the ID.
>he's higher levelNo he isn't
>>179196It isn't in my items list, but if GM approves, then Brie somehow has a smol cup of smoked pulled pork
>>179198>He's higher levelHas a sad nao
>No he isn'tHas a sad for Silver nao
>>179199I thought silver was lvl 6. Maybe I am mistaken.
>>179201we're lvl 6,... oh gawd, dont tell me u don't know
>>179202I was told that we start at lvl 5. I started at lvl 3 due to XP costs in character creation.
Have I been wrong all this time? I would really like to be lvl 5.
>>179192>Enlarge PonyTags: Artist:ncmares, macro
>>179199It didn't rhyme, therefore it wasn't me. I just wanted a fee healing potions for Dust to use if spell slots run thin or the party has to split he can give some while he's not with them.
>>179203There may be details to your specific character I am unaware of, and I'm sorry if I gave a false impression. I was told Brie is level 6, with all details considered
>>179203When the game first started, all of the player characters were level 5. A lot has happened since then, so now we're level 6.
>>179197>>179198I suppose unless we get input from the other characters to the contrary (Cavaliere, Dust), Silver would serve as party leader, at least for this quest.
>>179200Hmm...that will be have to be kept in mind...
Can you all post with names so I don't have to spend time guessing who posted what and sometimes get it wrong?
>>179207I want to hear from Garv and Tenebrous on acquisition before moving on.
>>179207Well, at least that means
Posey can benefit from a commander aura....
I would be thankful that lower level characters level up more quickly, but idk how that works out in games without XP.
>I suppose unless we get input from the other characters to the contrary (Cavaliere, Dust), Silver would serve as party leader, at least for this quest. That's alright. The goal is pretty straightforward, anyway.

(he did not in fact ask for 2 mres, that idea occurred on the plane)
He says this, nonchalantly taking possession of the entire box of 9mm
