Does the plane fly over water to get to Manehattan?
>>179002REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>178992 →Based.
>>178989 →Pilot:
"Oh yeah, it's definitely safe."
>>178993 →The pilot opens and looks into the suitcase, looking specifically for explosives, and more to the point, explosives that are attached to timers or remote detonators.
>>178995 →Pilot:
"Oh no, I'm not talking about them flying over the border to come to us. I'm talking about us accidentally flying into Stalliongrad if we get off course. I've never done that before. Not with Stalliongrad, anyways."
He looks down
"Pre-flight checks... uh... yeah, let me get to that."
>>178997 →Pilot:
"Oh yeah. In fact, the journey to Manehattan is almost entirely over water."
>>179004"Yes"

>>179000While everyone gets settled, Silver and Kira start conversing with each other, getting to know more about each other and sharing stories about each other's cultures. Kira especially is interested in asking Silver all about Equestria, both its history and recent events. None of which will be roleplayed unless any characters are really all that interested, since it would be kinda weird me talking with myself.
Okay, everyone can post freely now
Mala cautiously gets on the plane.
>>179005Ngl, there is a hoof grenade
He returns to his conversation with "Rosey" as they board and stow their belongings. "Miss Ring, you mentioned your interest in religion and philosophy. You never told me what your personal beliefs are regarding it."
>>179005>YesPassing over running water is one of Posey's phobia's that I voluntarily gave her from Terrors Of The Deadlands (no offset; it's just an RP flaw, like her compulsion to knock on doors before entering homes)
Her expression warps as soon as the plane moves over the ocean, and her face grows green
I am going to roll Fortitude against my own charm DC (19) to see if Rosey Ring can avoid vomiting her guts out
Fortitude (no Constitution, but thank Orcus for spellstitching)
[1d20+3 = (12+3) = 15] Shoal Water says, "Good luck. Please bring them back" and folds the stairs back into the plane. Another pony from the flight crew locks the door and goes to the cockpit. The engines rev up as the plane begins to taxi.
The plane is loud. If characters wish to have semi-secret conversations with each other, it's not a terrible time to do it.
>>179009He inspects it, then places it back. He says
"This can go in cargo" And places it in the back.
>>179011The pony who locked the door hoofs over a paper bag to Posey.

And a composite bundle, a smol space for earplugs,....
>>179011I really hope someone in this party can cast Prestidigitation, otherwise this is gonna be a really messy and really gross flight.
>>179012As said before, Silver and Kira use the opportunity to learn more about each other and their respective cultures.
Use Rope: Kira sees if she can use the netting from cargo as a seat belt to keep her from sliding about everywhere in the passenger section. Her body should as a result also help to keep the cargo from sliding into the passenger section, and she'll still be available for the creatures to sit on like a comfy bench.
[1d20+7 = (8+7) = 15]>>179013Uh...Silver feels like he should perform a Heal check on Posey...
"And ponies say I'm weird
Zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb, zeeb!
Anyways.
Dust settles into his seat on tge plane, making sure his carry-on in stowed firmly under his seat, and not poking out. He then ensures his seatbelt is fastened, his tray table is stowed, and his seat is in the full upright position.
He then closes his eyes, his breathing and mouth movements give away that he's definitely not sleeping, but whatever he's muttering to himself is so quiet that it's lost in the noise.
The plane rotates, and takes off.
They are only over land for a few minutes before going over an endless blue ocean, with periodic white clouds beneath.

>>179031She's going to need a full-body transplant before this is done. Silver looks around for something to staunch the flow, and with an "Ah-ha!" takes a towel he finds and stuffs it in the mare's mouth like he's trying to stop a nose bleed.

>>179035Mala looks up at her, with fear in his eyes, and at least his forelegs wrapped around her. What is not so pleasant is that he has claws that dig into her.
>>179038"We are over the sea. There isn't really anywhere to land... Maybe I can ask the pilot to divert? Or go back to Baltimare? I'm not sure if it would make any difference though in time."
>>179044>>179034Silver: "You need fluids. Let me see if there is anything."
After removing the now thoroughly ruined and bloody towel from Posey's mouth, Silver gets up to look for medical supplies, specifically plasma or blood. Kira helps as well, since she's basically a retaining wall right now between the passenger area and cargo.
>>179045Hmm...would the Mala like it if Kira wrapped around him like a weighted security blanket?
"So Im supposed to just be "okay" with that?"
>>179046Rosey Ring reclines on the floor of the plane, with her hooves crossed over her chest, and meditates deeply. This seems to prevent her condition from worsening.
Brie makes for the rear most seats on the plane
>>179047Mala seems to believe that if he doesn't hold onto Kira, he will fall out of the plane and to his death.
>>179046And then Kira, just like Silver before, gets up and leaves him...
Who's the closest character to Mala?
>>179049White Pegasus Pony, who totally isn't supposed to be navigating the plane right now and making sure they don't all just fly off over the ocean MH370 style:
"Is she dead?"
>>179046Wait. Did Silver smuggle
liquids into the cabin of an airplane?!?!?!?!?!?!
>>179050This was a mistake. Mala grabs onto Brie, clawing him with his paws, and generally holding on as if he will fall to his death if he doesn't.
>>179051Oh no, GM pone seems to be mistaken, Kira isn't getting up to go anywhere, she can search cargo right from where she is. Or, at least, the cargo that's within reach of her current position. And Silver didn't smuggle any liquids besides the ones in his body already, he's just checking if there are any medical supplies with which he can replace the diminished bodily fluids in Posey's body.
Kira wraps around Mala as best as she is able, and holds him tight without constricting him. It's really like a firm hug, more than anything.
>>179052shrugs>>179048It's rude to speak ill of the ill.
>>179050The rear most seats on the plane are, actually, the ones provided by Kira's body, as she's held up by the netting separating cargo from the passenger area. Her tail is available as comfortable bench seating, as opposed to the uncomfortable seats.
>>179051Nonchalantly walks to back of plane while gnoll claws and bites
>>179051Rosey Ring does not respond. She remains perfectly motionless, frozen in rigor mortis.
>>179052White Pegasus Pony who totally isn't supposed to be navigating the plane right now:
"Okay. I'll radio for a morgue."
>>179050>>179054Okay Kira hasn't moved. Brie is saved from Mala's clinging.
Also he isn't biting.
>>179053Mala is less afraid of Kira than he is of being in the aluminum can hurling through the air, trapped with a mare dying of some kind of viral hemorrhagic fever
Cavaliere approaches Silver, though not too close since he avoids the foul blood all over the floor. "Do you know what her condition is? What can I do to help?"
>>179056>viral hemorrhagic fever"It's hereditary!" Posey gasps, with the last air in lungs, before going back to being fucking dead
>>179056Kira gently pets the gnoll to reassure him. She makes "ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh" noises to him, telling him that everything will be okay.
>>179057Silver: "Well, it is clearly worst case of internal bleeding I have ever seen. Difference in pressure must have caused multiple ruptures, she really should not be travelling. We need to get her fluids as soon as possible, plasma or blood either one. If neither are here, then we need to find way to fashion makeshift IV drip and put her blood back in her."
>>179059>>179060The White Pegasus gently kicks her
"Pretty sure she's dead."
>>179060Mala whimpers
>>179060He turns to Defiant Dust.

[1d20+5 = (7+5) = 12]Kira, meanwhile, continues to console the poor scared gnoll in an almost motherly fashion.
I'm going to go to bed now.
Posey remains dead at least until the plane is no longer over running water.
>>179063Something like a heart is "beating" (Throbbing? Squirming?) in Posey's chest, but she's not breathing....

Well, not exactly how Silver wanted to spend the trip. He wanted to keep talking with Kira and teaching each other more about their cultures. But, I suppose there's nothing to it other than to keep giving Posey mouth-to-mouth to keep her alive.
>>179066I mean, if a nat 20 adjusted 33 doesn't do it, there's no logical next step but lay of hoof and healing spells. Thank Celestia we have

Don't let me steal the show. I was only making things interesting and RPing my flaws a bit.

Whelp, can't describe the plane coming in for landing in Manehattan if no one looks out the windows. Hell, can't even bring a plane in for landing if the co-pilot radio operator/navigator is busy in the cabin
>>179067>>179062The white pegasus pony looks down gravely at the corpse
"Honestly, at this point, I would be more concerned if she
did wake up.
I'm from White Severyana, from a village outside of Kobilkyno. My father tells of a story... well, he didn't experience it himself, but he heard the rumors from his foalhood. There was an old peasant, not in the good graces of his community, who caught a fever and died. He was buried in the cemetery, behind the church. Then a few days later, another caught fever, and died. Then another. And another. A perfectly health stallion or mare complains of a stabbing pain, becomes feverish and ill... and dies. But every one of them said the same thing. That the old, dead pony, appeared to them in their dreams, and strangled them. Several villagers were dead before the remaining villagers accepted that they were dealing with an old threat, long whispered of in the villages of White Severyana. And they knew what they had to do. They dug up the grave of the old, peasant pony, opened his coffin, and found that in ten weeks' time he was still fresh, with a lively glow and hooves and mane in good condition. They drove a stake through his heart, as the old wisdom dictated, and horrified, if not surprised, to see fresh blood come out of its insides. They cut off the head, then burned the body. The deaths stopped. That was long ago, and I have moved on from that village. The world has moved on. But there is wisdom in the stories our ancestors have passed down. Don't trust that which dies but does not stay dead. You may be dealing with a Revenant, or a Vampire...
Anyways, I need to help fly the plane."
>>179077Kira looks out the windows, at least.
Anyone who happens to glance over will notice Brie looking joyfully out the window, smoking a cigarette, completely unfazed by the gruesome scene further up on the plane.
>>179077>"Honestly, at this point, I would be more concerned if she did wake up.>Don't trust that which dies but does not stay dead.He might be really disappointed when Rosey Ring comes back to life as soon as the plane flies over land.
>Whelp, can't describe the plane coming in for landing in Manehattan if no one looks out the windows. Hell, can't even bring a plane in for landing if the co-pilot radio operator/navigator is busy in the cabinSorry, GM, I didn't mean to disrupt your narration. I just wanted to have some fun and try to make people laugh.
The first tip that something may be changing is when the plane dips slightly to the left and turns. To those looking out the windows, they'd see a sight likely unlike anything they have seen before when the clouds break.
Below are dozens of shapes. Probably more than a hundred. Each, a ship painted various shades of grey. All of them are warships. Destroyers, light cruisers, heavy cruisers, even a battle cruiser. Near the center ride several larger ships bristling with guns that must surely be battleships, and flat-topped ships that are unmistakably aircraft carriers, with rows of little blue dots along their decks. The ships move in the same direction, spaced near-equally apart from one another. It stretched out as far as the ponies can see, though clouds obscure more distant views.
Aside from the fleet's presence and size, the next detail that becomes apparent as the plane flies lower and overhead is the odd heterogeneity of the ships, as they are not simply of different sizes and varieties, nor even just different classes, but belong to entirely different traditions. Some are slenderer, others fatter. Some are lower in the water, others higher. The size, shape, and positioning of the bridge is different even on ships of the same hull type, as does the positioning and number of the guns. Some of the ships appear modern, though quite a few, and perhaps even most, are of older designs that predate the current series of wars and go back perhaps two decades.
Silver especially may recognize a couple of the evident battleships as being the Mage Meadowbrook and the Mistmane, former prides of the Equestrian fleet. Perhaps Garv would recognize destroyers and light cruisers as being, if not Nova Griffonian, certainly of a style used in Griffin states. But the aircraft carriers, likewise, include cruiser conversions not native to pony designs, but also two purpose built, if not especially large, carriers that dip and rise in the waves as they move forward.
This whole Frankenstein's monster of a fleet, assembled from the navies of multiple nations, moves as one in one direction with clear speed and purpose. That direction is near-opposite the path of the plane, away from a presumed Manehattan and South, to the East of Baltimare and past the Equestrian Southeast. They leave behind long trailing white-water wakes. The many dozens of black jets of smoke coming from the ships push upwards to the sky, but also bend backwards and trail behind as the ships beneath them move forward.
>>179088Oh, of course. I should have made that connection
>>179088Kira: "Wooooaaaaahhhh...there are so many ships...I've heard that other nations had ships for fighting wars, but I didn't know there were so many, or that they would be so big! We're so high up and yet some of them still look huge!"
Silver: "Must be they put all of captured ships from all of nations that have capitulated to them into single fleet. Must be sailing to face Aquileia."
>>179088>This whole Frankenstein's monster of a fleet, assembled from the navies of multiple nations, moves as one in one direction with clear speed and purpose. That direction is near-opposite the path of the plane, away from a presumed Manehattan and South, to the East of Baltimare and past the Equestrian Southeast.Where are they going?
.... Is what Rosey Ring would ask if she weren't catatonic and concentrating on not-vomiting right now.
>>179067Rosey Ring's eyes shoot open, and she stares awkwardly at Silver, but doesn't move a muscle or make a sound.
She closes her eyes again shortly after.
The zeeb sits intently, staring at the unicorn as she lies on the floor. He Eventually agrees with Silver's assessment that she is, somehow, alive and figures he'll wait to see if she gets worse. If she does, the spells come out.
>>179088He then goes to look at the boats that have caught the other's attention. They're a far cry from the boat he used to find his way to this continent.
The plane continues, turning left again, until the creatures see a narrow band of grey-brown, beyond which there is green. It's land, for the first time since leaving Baltimare. The plane turns right, and parallels the coast. In this area, the coast is rocky cliffs with a road running along the edge and plowed fields or stubble beyond. A fishing village comes up where a break in the cliffs creates a recess into the land, and a tiny natural harbor. Little houses with red or green painted walls line the hillside down to the water, with a small marina with little fishing boats, a jetty at the entrance, and a lighthouse at the end of the jetty. Past this the cliffs continue with farmland beyond, though they become increasing low until the coast becomes sandy beach.
Along the beach are a number of houses, often on stilts, and then as the plane moves on a wooden boardwalk lined with many hotels painted white or with pink facades. While they are too high up to see much detail it seems closed for the winter. Jetting into the water is a wooden pier with a Ferris wheel, roller coast, carousel, concession and game stands. Beyond this town the clouds increase in density and the land can no longer be seen. The plane turns further out into water, before making a sharp turn towards the land.
Then the clouds clear and the following can be seen:
To the left, an endless line of rowhouses in the distance, piers, sometimes with docked ships in the foreground, and beyond that, rows and rows and rows of brick-walled manufactories with great smokestacks, then brick apartment buildings. In the middle of the view a great harbor, beyond that and to the right, a wide river. To the immediate left and to the right of the river, a skyline of massive buildings with clouds behind that cut off the view of the horizon. To the right of that, another river, though smaller. And to the right of that, a mess of refineries, manufactories, warehouses, and piers extending into the harbor with ships at them. Some of the creatures don't need to be told that they are looking at Bronclyn to the left, Hayston in the center, and Manehattan on the right, with an industrial satellite further off to the right.
The plane descends. In the harbor are two islands. One, further away, is covered in long buildings. The other contains the perhaps most recognizable monument of the city: the Statue of Friendship on a lone granite pedestal, holding her torch and her book. However, she is draped by a flag that must surely be two hundred feet in length. This flag is dark blue, with a pair of horseshoes in the center that oppose each other, surrounded by the stars of Equestria on every side.
Descending, the creatures get a better look. Across the water in Manehattan is a wall of skyscrapers with brick, marble, glass, or stainless-steel facade. They are not simply rectangles that rise towards the sky, but each decorated in their own way. One, here, has a marble facade complete with a frieze and doric columns, a neoclassical style that evokes a temple of yesteryear. Over here, a stainless-steel lined construction with sleek curves and steel eagle statures - an art deco work of the last few decades that evokes the look of an automobile. Here, one that is blocky and with cement facade where there is not glass, but impressive nevertheless, if for no other reason than sheer size and the bold angles of the roofs of its various sections, evoking the look of basalt columns on an oceanside cliff. This last building, the second tallest in the city, has lining up to dock on its rooftop a vehicle that might just be larger than the battleships and aircraft carriers seen before - a great, rigid airship, with a grey color that almost blends into wall of cloud behind the city. It lines up its cabin towards an extended walkway. On its tail is a dark blue color with two opposed horseshoes.
Further to the left and respectably away, near the water, is a slightly taller, but even more recognizable. This building has as its crown, a giant horsehead very close in design to a knight chess piece, covered in bright and shining brass. This is the famed Crystaling Tower. Over the river that separates Manehattan and Haystin is a large suspension bridge, and then across the river is another line of tall buildings, sometimes great commercial skyscrapers, and sometimes smaller apartment buildings.
>>179093Very colorful description.
But within the harbor, and to the left, are sights that also stick out. To the left is a row of drydocks, now filled with military ships that look burned and mangled. More piers likewise have destroyers at them, visibly damaged with entire turrets or parts of the super structure missing. Coming into harbor and being pulled by tugboat is a large heavy cruiser with its forward turret slumping off. There must be at least a dozen military ships here, and most of those showing signs of clear damage, and some scarcely still floating, including visible listing or fire marks.
But the plane also passes an ocean liner, absolutely massive with three smokestacks at the dock, and a small amount of smoke coming out of one of them. This ship is not painted in any company livery, but grey. The name, which may not need to be read, is Princess Platinum. On the dock are numerous ponies. Likely hundreds, maybe even over a thousand of them, with great packs of bags and suitcases. They stand waiting, while many are lined up and cross gangways onto the ship.
Floating in the harbor, and especially, lined up to distant docks, are several freight ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers, even if they are outnumbered by the military vessels. Flying across the harbor at low altitude are two blimps with their grey balloons and the insignia of two opposed horseshoes.
The plane extends its landing gear. In front of them is a paved airfield, with another runway at an angle and many buildings lining it. Next to this airfield are several of the drydocks and piers where the aforementioned military ships are located. The superstructures of these ships come even more into view as they come into land, as do several other planes outside of hangers, including a couple Skytrotters and smaller planes, as well as a blimp in a hanger.
The plane touches down against the ground with a thud, and lands, taxiing some ways until coming to a stop near a hangar. The cockpit door opens
"Welcome to Manehattan District, and to Bronclyn Naval Base. Former center of the Equestria of the Equestrian Fleet and current center of the Silver Crescent Fleets. We will be stopping here for about a half hour refueling, then on our way to Trottingham.
A truck approaches the aircraft, and the flight crew goes to open the door.
Outside, a good view of the Manehattan skyline.
>>179095comes back to lifeAs the plane lands, Rosey Ring rises with a jolt and a gasp:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M7nzml-zZ9M >>179095Is the Princess Platinum still visible when we land?
"Normally we'd land in Idlewild Airport, but we were instructed to come here and uh, good thing, I guess. We've called for a medical team to bring the uh, the dead passenger away and, uh, clean it. Everypony off the plane. Please try to avoid the potentially contaminated bodily fluids
>>179096The white pegasus gasps
"A revenant!"
>>179097Kinda. It's to the right now. The ponies lining up and the lower parts of the ship are obscured. The smoke stacks and the higher parts of the superstructure are still visible. In general, what is on this side of the river is not as visible as the buildings on the other side.
>>179097Should there be visible mold in Posey's coughed up blood?
>>179098>moldNo. Rosey Ring takes too good care of herself to grow mold. Nothing can survive in Posey's body.
Or at least I really hope so... I'm still spooked about how Zuggtmoy said she had "already planted her seed" in Posey... I guess that's a problem for another day.Rosey Ring's vomit is a mixture of blood and an unidentifiable black bile composed of pure congealed metaphysical evil (her corruption score is maxxed out).
>"A revenant!""I wish..." Rosey says, coughing slightly before taking out her comb and fixing her mane
"This is just what happens when I travel. Staying perfectly still helps stop it." She continues
"It wasn't as bad as I expected though."
>Kinda."Hey, I know that name!" Posey says, her energy uncannily returning as she points to the ship
"We learned about her in Equestrian History class."
>>179093>>179095Kira perhaps is most wowed by the sights out of all of the creatures. Her eyes grow wide, her black pupils and red irises expanding in wonder, and the others could swear they see sparkling lights in them. She is heard wondering to herself how any civilization that can build such a wonderous city could lose in a war, and if they did how incredibly powerful the conquerer must be.
>>179096Silver thinks to himself, "
Oh thank Celestia," as he can finally stop giving her mouth-to-mouth. He spits out the taste of rank blood and bile and wipes away any that got on him. He really wishes he had some water to flush out his mouth with.
>>179098Silver: "No, not revenant, just finally came to. At least I do not think revenants have heartbeats. Cancel that morgue trip, but maybe keep medical team around for blood infusion."
>>179100"I'll be fine." Rosey Ring says, getting up and leaving the vehicle
"Well that was exciting!" Brie exclaims amidst the silence.
>>179101Silver follows close behind. "You just lost enough blood to kill other ponies, your body can not replace all of those fluids that quickly. You need blood infusion."
>>179098Kira unwraps herself from the cargo netting and slithers out of the plane next. She starts shivering almost immediately. "BbBbRrRrRrrrrrr! By Ouroboros, is this what below freezing temperatures feel like?"
Brie fiddles with his rolling case for a moment, before emerging from the plane wearing a pair of fancy copper-rimmed sunglasses, and a fur,... whatever these are called over his fancy vest.
>>179104>"BbBbRrRrRrrrrrr! By Ouroboros, is this what below freezing temperatures feel like?""It is, isn't it lovely?" The Unicorn Mare says, taking in the frigid air
"It's just what I need after that ride."
Mala runs out of the plane, shaking
>>179100Pegasus pony:
"Okay... we'll need a mop and bucket though"
>>179099Posey's body is fueled by magic perfected thousands of years ago to be impervious to all life. Surely life could not have gained a resistance to it in any form. Not bacteria, and certainly not mold. Right? It's just a fuzzy discoloration anyways. Maybe it's lint. Could Posey's insides accumulate lint? Is that a thing? Well, she's coughed it out anyways. Nothing to worry about.
Now they just need to mop up that congealed metaphysical evil and get it off the floor.
>>179100Kira still has line of sight to many of the pretty buildings, the bridge, the top of the statue, and the great airship off in the distance.
Pilot:
"Okay, well we've got a doctor coming."
>>179104Pilot:
"Actually, it's above freezing at the moment. It'll get colder at night."
But yes, it's too cold for a snake
>>179105Are you CIA?
>>179107>Posey's body is fueled by magic perfected thousands of years ago to be impervious to all life. Surely life could not have gained a resistance to it in any form. Nothing to worry about.REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE>Mala runs out of the plane, shakingPosey pats him on the back.
"It'll be alright, big guy."
>>179107Kira: "IT GETS COLDER!?"
Oh yeah, it is definitely too cold for the sockless snek, even if she's warm blooded. She raises her head to face the sun, speaks a prayer in a language quite literally none of the currently present creatures speak, and touches the tip of her own nose with a hoof. Onlookers will observe a golden light spread from the tip of her nose down all the way along her body. Kira gives a massive shiver as it works its magic. As the golden light begins to fade away, Kira stops shivering, and lets out a sigh of relief. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...much better. Now it feels like I'm huddled up under a nice blanket in front of a warm fire!"
Now no longer feeling the elements, Kira can appreciate the beauty of the city skyline and the wonders that the Equestrians managed to build during her tribe's existence.
>>179109Silver places a hoof on Posey's shoulder. "Listen, we need to talk, in private." As he says this he tilts his head away from the others in the party towards an empty area with no one around.
>>179109It's okay. Antimagic resistance in diseases is dramatically exaggerated, and probably just made up by the older mages in an attempt to gain funding into new forms of Necromancy. Well, Diligent Debride never said this, but when she was talking about magic resistant diseases, Posey got the definite impression that this was shit necromancers in Equestria made up in order to convince the ponies that more research into Necromancy was needed. You've got to get that funding somehow.
Mala closes his eyes and smiles as Posey pats him, then wags his tail.
>>179110poofOf in the distance, Kira can see spires ontop of buildings, and even the spires of a traditional cathedral. She can make out the rounded roof of a... train station? Stadium? Some big, impressive building, surely. And then all of those dots. She wouldn't have seen them if they didn't move. Those must be pegasi, maybe batponies or griffins or even hippogriffs flying.
