This is actually a pretty interesting way to nerf magic spells so that way they don't have any negative effects on the setting. I hadn't thought of nerfing zone of truth that way, but it's an interesting concept that I should consider

If I give an exact time, it'll lead to a whole examination of how much time Posey, Kira, and Silver took for their various diversions, then how much time was spent in the room, then how fast a DC-3 can fly and refuel, how great the distance is, what time of day sunset occurs at whatever latitude bjornholm is at that time of year, what latitude the island even is at, the time of day, the effect of the fog to reduce light....

Zone of Truth is an absolute meme spell. You have no way of telling if the enemy passed their saving throw. They're not even under any compulsion to tell you anything.
Also, it's mind-affecting.

All of the creatures get into the truck. Shoal Water gets into the front. Mala gets in and sits near Silver, but is less averse to Kira now. He examines the short sword.
The truck drives through town and to the edge. At some point, it comes to a fenced off area that has a guard booth. The truck is allowed through, and onto a field with pavement. There are a few buildings adjacent to it, but it's not a big facility.
They are let out of the truck.
There are about three single prop planes with blue paint. Posey may recognize them as of the same variety, and likely including the same plane, as the trainer she saw in the swamps further south.
