Dark Star starts has embarked in a new venture - infiltrating cells of leftwing radicals at a local university.
>>150486One of the perks of playing 3.5e is that you have 20 years of gamers who've documented various build options for you. Check out some of the handbooks:
RPGbot's stuff is pretty easy to understand. Not too comprehensive though.
https://rpgbot.net/dnd35/characters/classes/monk/Minmaxforums has done a great job of archiving some of the old BrilliantGameologist handbooks. This one is pretty good.
http://minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=2902.0And GiantITP always has creative ideas, even if it's kind of a graveyard now. This handbook is decent.
https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?338524-Bekeleven-s-Monkday-Guide-to-MonksI've referred to all of these in my own Monk Builds. One of my most recent ones was a Yuan Ti Tainted One, Monk 5 / Ur Priest 1 / Sacred Fist 10 / Shiba Protector 1 "Anti-Nun", who representented a devoted monastic warrior of the phoenix clan who become a depraved agent of Sertross after having her mind poisoned by the yuan ti.
Monk is actually a pretty good entry for Ur Priest, because of its saving throw progression. That's not helpful for you unless you want to be evil though, which I doubt you would.
>>150486>Flurry of Blows>Evasion>Still Mind.>Ki Strike (magic). >Slow Fall 20 ft.>Purity of BodyYou've listed these as "feats" when they're actually just your class features.
You should gain one feat at lvl 1 (three, if you take two flaws), and another feat at lvl 3.
>>150494>Picks Deflect Arrows >Hyperlink to RPGBOT>It's "WORTHLESS">MfwNah, I'm just kiddin'. I picked it because I wonted to try the flavour of deflecting bullets in this setting.
>Pic 2
>>150496I've only ever considered Deflect Arrows to be worth it in Epic level games, if only for Infinite Deflection and Exceptional Reflection.
>>150497Perhaps we should take this to another thread? While the monk build discussion can stay, since it's related, I would like to discuss the build alternatives to it and other pc builds with you. Perhaps I should make a pc build discussion thread or something?
I don't wanna bother the players of this thread but maybe that's not a problem, idk.
>>150498>but maybe that's not a problemAs in, maybe they aren't bothered.
>>150503Um... did you decide anything?
>>150556Dark Star last left off the second floor of the apartment building, outside, and is on the sidewalk outside of the apartment building. He is dyed as "Solar Night," and is wearing a trench coat and perhaps sunglasses
>>150405"You know why" she says, not making eye contact, but standing up
>>150564Ears down, she slowly walks into the living room.
>>150562Dark Star looks around to see if anypony is watching him
>>150568Dark Star doesn't seem to see anyone looking at him - although at a different apartment, a pony smokes a cigarette outside. Then again, it would be hard to know if anycreature were looking at him through the blinds of a window, or in the shadows of an alleyway.
>>150569Slight worry
Dark Star walks down a few blocks then hails a taxi
>>150570Dark Star walks to the road, presumably walks a little further, and then hails and enters a taxi. Looks like a bat pony driver. Dark Star is free to move
>>150571He Hops inside
"Hello there friend,Can i get a ride to the east side tavern?"
>>150572The darker colored stallion takes a moment to answer, first consulting with a map on the seat next to him, and running a hoof down it.
"Yeah" he answers, with what seems to be an unfamiliar accent. He takes the vehicle out of park, and starts to drive.
The vehicle arrives at the Eastside tavern with little delay. There is not much traffic at night.
>>150573"Thank you,my friend. a smooth ride."
He pays the toll and heads inside
>>150574The bat pony looks to Dark Star with slit eyes that are a distilled, bright yellow the color of polished brass, and nods. He drives away.
Inside are several patrons, as well as Glistening Glass.
>>150575He walks over to glimmering glass
"Hey mr.glass. had a good time."
>>150576"Oh, you did?" He smiles and asks this looking to Dark Star, then away towards a glass, back to Dark Star, and back to the glass as he pours and distributes a drink.
>>150577"I went to my first college party."
He looks down at the drink
>>150578The drink appears to be a straight drink prepared for another patron. After that, Glass turns to Dark Star directly
"What, you're in college now as a part of... your thing?" He asks
>>150579"Sorta yeah. i enroll tomorrow."
>>150580"Oh, nice." He looks away, presumably to another patron, and returns his eyes to Dark Star
"Which college?"
>>150581"Oh jim haykins. it is....quite something."
>>150582"Jim Haykins?! That high, huh? Here I thought you were going to say the State University. That's pretty nice."
He pauses for a moment
"What uh, kind of something?"
>>150583"Not the good kind,Its Really not good."
>>150584He frowns, and walks closer to Dark Star, placing hooves on the table below the counter
"What do you mean?"
>>150585"Well there was a very disgusting speech. you wouldn't believe what was said mr.glass."
He frowns
>>150586He pulls his lips back in empathetic disgust
"Well, I can't say I'm too surprised. I'm sorry that is like that." He pauses a bit longer
"How would you like a shot? On the house."
>>150587"Please. mr.glass. its been a long day."
>>150588He pours a shot of Dark Star's preferred apple whiskey, and sends it to him
"So... If the college isn't so great, how was the college party?"
>>150589he drinks it.
"The Party was Good. although the same ponies were there. most of them have the same views as the speaker. I think i did manage to make a Friend though."
>>150590He smiles
"Oh, that's really nice. Always good." And after a pause, "How are the mares?"
>>150591"well.the ones i met are politically motivated. Perhaps just as much as i am."
>>150592He presses his lips together
"Is that a good thing?"
>>150593"For equestria?No."
He stares at the table in thought.
>>150594He frowns
"Think you can get any tail out of any of them?"
>>150595"i probably could, they seem very easy."
>>150596He nods, and smiles
"Well, then that's one good thing. And remember, you're there for a reason. Do it, and you'll have done your job. You can have fun on the side, but if it isn't fun, that's alright. You weren't there to have fun to begin with."
>>150597He Smiles back
"Thanks for everything mr.glass. today has been difficult. i almost lost my cool during the speech."
>>150598He leans forward, and for a moment Dark Star might even think he meant to pat him on the head
"Well, you didn't, and maybe it's because you didn't that you got through it all, and got to come to me at the end of the day. Keep calm and remember what you came there to do, and it'll end up alright. You're welcome Dark... err, whatever you're going by now."
hopes to play in a couple days
>>150567Spark follows into the room.
“Are we ready to head out?”
