I imagine her as a filly who grew up in a cloister close to Canterlot and actually had like an encounter with the Princess C and it left her with a good impression. This church or cloister taught their nuns martial arts as well. She was very dedicated and loyal to Celestia so when the Blackhoofs attacked she saw this as a betrayal.

Fighting nuns seems slightly odd at first, but it’s easy to imagine unarmed combat taught as a way to defend against monsters and bandits, and then kept as a tradition because of its ability to teach discipline and stay in good physical condition. Maybe the fillie overcame some emotional or personal problem through martial arts, if built up relationships with her teachers. Then when the war came, she could use it as an actual way to fight.

The easiest way, I think, to reconcile this backstory with a Baltimare setting is to say that she joined the ELF in the Canterlot area, and then something traumatic happened that caused her to leave to Baltimare. In this way, she will have had contact with the ELF and could continue to be active for them, without necessarily being active at the immediate moment of the beginning of the story. She would be new to the city and have a reason to have become an alcoholic. This is assuming we want to put her near other characters.

The Swordsage is a great class, one of the three Martial Adepts of the Sublime Way printed in the Tome Of Battle, the ultimate martial artists. It can advance unarmed damage, like a Monk, and gets a wide variety of martial maneuvers that let you do things such as shatter mountains with your bare fists, choke people standing 60ft away, throw enemies with so much force they explode upon impact, blast cones of fiery ki, teleport through shadows, pounce like a lion (better than it sounds), walk through walls and fly. Swordsages are the ultimate martial

If you want to stay closer to the Traditional monk build, a good prestige class that would advance most of the Monk abilities you care about while also giving you more maneuvers. It's also thematic for a Sun-Worshipper.

If you don't like the sublime way (you're missing out), I think Drunken Master would be a flavorful prestige class for your character, available at lvl 6.

For feats, consider taking Superior Unarmed Strike and Improved Natural Attack (Unarmed Strike).
If you're going for a basic Monk Build, consider Stunning Fist and Sun Soul Monk (the feat). You could use uses of Turn Undead from the Sun Soul feat to effectively burn uses of Stunning Fist to Fuel Devotion feats, such as Travel Devotion (very good feat).
Sun School is also a very good feat for Sun-Worshipping Monks, although it's better for a Shadow Sun Ninja, because one of the tactical maneuvers it grants works well with the Shadow Hand School's teleportation maneuvers.
Monks are generally feat starved, so consider taking Flaws for Bonus feats. Bestial Instinct and Individualist may be decent if you only want to do unarmed combat.
Charisma and Int are generally dump stats for monks, although Int is still good for skill points.

Am I not maxed out on feats? Or are you refering to exhcanging my choice of bonus feats for other feats?

I took improve Grapple because I thought it would be more useful in an adventure like this one were I'll mostly solo play. The stunning fist seems more like an assist feat in that regard.

I did int to 12 for the modifier +1 and just but the cha to 11 because of rp reasons and (because it was too expensive to anything else at that point with it).
Thanks for your advices. It really does open my eyes do many possibilites, that might not be use now but can be used later. They are inspiring in a sense.

What about level 2? The monk qualify for one bonus feat at level one and another at level 2. So at level one I get two flaws but do I get 2 flaws added at level 2?

Those are bonus feats you get through class. There are other ways to get bonus feats.

You could also increase your depravity score to moderate for another bonus feat if you want to consider acoholism to be actually a severe issue with mechanical inhibitios, although playing the taint game is dangerous and addictions can be pretty debilitating if you don't have anyone to cast Restoration or Remove Addiction on you.
You could just become undead, max out your taint, and sell your soul to Zargon for 6+ bonus feats, but you wouldn't want to do that...
Feats are the most scarce resource in 3.5e, and you're incredibly reliant on them as a Monk, so choose wisely.
You could list Magical locations for the relative equipment value in your starting equipment for certain bonus feats, but you're probably better off spending that on permanent gear, or donating it to the church as tithes for an affiliation bonus.
