Welcome to thread two of AnCap's Epic Pony Adventure.
As we left off last time, the party of ponies and a cow had been teleported away by Discord. They are waking up in the back of a wagon, as a creamy colored pony with a multihued brown mane gazes at them over the wagon's edge.

>>114103Biggest oof to you friend>>114102.....
Most of the dragons snort in response, some flying off and others continuing whatever they were doing before
>>114104Oh, duh
CRACK CRACKThey're there, if not a bit singed and disoriented
>>114101>>114105"We should be just above the crystal, if it still exists..." Sister says
"It may be underground."
Sister Ash levitates over to the nearest dragons and attempts to ask for directions, describing the white dragon she saw.
>>114106Cowe is focused on observing the dragons, looking for any that might appear to be a threat
>>114106>>114107Topaz looks in awe at Ash's initiative.
(How many times did she have to deal with these scaled folk? She seems like an expert.)
Phospy is trying hard not to panic at the danger around and Diamond simply looks disinterested, breathing deeply to try and reorient himself.
>>114109She said before that this place is close to her people's homeland.
>>114107You mean the one she just barely saw the tail of?
Gimme a diplomacy check.
>>114108None of them look openly hostile...
yet >>114111Oh whoops.
The fact went over her head.
>>114112>>114113Phospy is clearly uncomfortable being here around so many dragons, tugging at the unicorn.
"Come on, Phospy," she whispers to him, patting his big head. "You can do it. Do it for me."
These words obviously strengthens the dragon's resolve.
"That's the spirit! Come on, let's follow Ash."
She and Diamond hop on Phospy, which start flying over to Ash and the currently being interrogated dragon.
>>114113>>114114*Shines scales*
*puffs out fluff*
*removes mistletoe from mane*
"Excuse me, have you seen a colossal white dragon anywhere around these parts?"
>>114115Cowe flies in a relatively up, back, and defensive (respective to the group's) position.
>>114113>>114115>>114116A very large red dragon replies in draconic
"Listen do you know how many white dragons there are around here? More than I could count. Good luck finding one specific one. Now, go before my friends decide ponies are on the menu?"
Yertle is just following sister at a distance like he usually does. He watches closely, lest the mare get herself killed.
>>114118"I mean a
really big white dragon. An old one too, judging by the power i saw."
>>114120"Once again, I can name a dozen. Now scram before
I decide you're on the menu."
>>114120"He should have been right here 10 minutes ago... I guess I'll have to scry on him again..."
>>114122"Surely you know of one who has been gloating about a magnificent gem they may have stumbled across in the last day or so?"
>>114122>>114123Topaz is rather taken aback by the dragon's demeanor.
(Are all dragons just like Phospy? Sheesh.)
Sister first casts Lay Of The Land, to find any and all significant landmarks within a 50 mile radius.
>You cast this spell and are surrounded with a nimbus of green light. In your mind, a map unfolds of the surrounding area, showing the cities, hamlets, and known ruins as if penned by a cartographer. The light fades but the knowledge of the map remains.
[1d20+58 = 78]
Oh, and while we're here, rolling Spot to see any ancient white dragons on the horizon, in case said dragon was here moments ago.
>>114127Here's hoping that wasn't a waste
>>114128Skill checks don't crit, but if he's anywhere on the horizon or in the sky, i would've seen him.
>>114129Gee, tell me more about basic game mechanics, cuz I've never experienced them before.
>>114124"Well if he's as old as you say, he'd know gloating a new treasure would be a great way to put him on a hit list. But please, by all means let me know if you find this gem."
Flames lick from the dragons mouth, and he looks irritated.
>>114126A number of cave entrances and lairs stand out to Ash, along with some lava pools that seem popular with the young dragons.
>>114127Although not quite what Ash was gazing for, she does see what appears to be a sparkle at the top of one of the mountains, marked as a lair on her mental map.
>>114131"Thank you ancient one, we shall do so indeed." She says, with a slight bow of respect.
>>114132>>114131Topaz quickly bows along with her.
[1d20+57 = 65]>>114131>lairSister Ash blazes in frustration momentarily as she realizes the teleportation spell that was supposed to drop her right on top of her target has instead dropped her half a mile away.
"It's that way. Follow me." she says with a groaning conviction
Rolling Survival to arrive trek there safely
>>114134>>114131Topaz does as instructed by Ash, giving a quick way to the red dragon.
"Another faulty teleport... That's the second time this week.. and this century..." She mutters as she clambers onto yertle's levitating back
>>114134Cowe flies off in pursuit, from a flanking defensive position respective to the party (meaning, anyone not on the ground who attacks would have to go through her first)
Sister Also uses Invisibility on the whole party for the trip, because why not?
>>114138Useful. I was about to mention that Cowe is glowing cuz of the mask
>>114139What item is that? You might still glow while invisible, depending on what spell it is.
>glances from watch>to phone clock>to grandfather clock>to computer clock>to big ben>to nuclear clockreeeee where are the other two?
>>114140Veto'd invisibility overrules the glow
>>114141>>114134Did my check get us there safely?
Well, obviously the survival check succeeded.
The only question vis if there was anything to avoid along the way.
>>114143Are you gonna give him a chance to respond, or are you gonna keep posting with more?
>>114144I would like to post more, yeah.
It seems as though we're having wifi troubles.
I may as well designate a Word Of Recall, so that we can all gtfo if shit hits the fan.
How about i designate the sanctuary as ye old ponyville?
>>114147Do you want to be teleported when Sister says the safe word or do you not?
I'm just checking to see if who wants to be included.
>>114148I want you to stop steamrolling and let the game progress as the GM intends
>>114149What do you mean steamrolling?
>>114150I'll explain later. STFU and let GM decide what is happening.
>>114151I'm not doing anything. I'm planning.
TIL Psions get Contingency.
Badass. Nothing can kill a contingent-caster.
Sister Ash seems almost ecstatic as her eyes gaze across the rugged hellscape of the dragonlands
"It's been so long.. It's as beautiful as ever." She says, levitating across pools of lava
>>114157Topaz looks to the side, somewhat taken aback by Ash's words.
"It looks so... barren and inhospitable. I would certainly not trust my followers alone in this place."
>>114159Sister Ash seems ironically calm
"well, of course not. Your followers are ponies, and this is the home of the dragonkin." She replies
"All lands are beutiful, because they're inhabited by so many different creatures. Evry race has it's place. Every beast has it's habitat. Thus is the harmony of nature." she continues, smiling
"And that, is beautiful. The vulcan tremors, the lavafields, the arcane weather.. they all make this land unique, and it's only because of that that that it could be home to so home to so may of these covetous and destructive dragons. The creatures match the land beneath them, and by that they're all able to live in harmony with the earth, or at least on their terms."
>>114160Phospy flaps his wings a little faster so both Topaz and Ash are next to eachother. She seems conflicted.
"I know. Forgive me. I was quite shocked to hear your words but I forgot you have that connection with dragons."
She smiles sheepishly.
"You are right, though. These dragons, albeit with as much tact as stone, did seem content before we arrived."
>>114162"It's their homeland. It's only natural that they'd ind a sort of rugged peace here. This is the place where dragons are free to be dragons."
>>114163Topaz looks solemn.
"Where dragons are free to be dragons..."
Diamonds pats her on the back, changing her mood into a small smile.
"I see. Tell me, what do dragons usually do?"
>>114164"Usually, fight over treasure and scorch things." she says a bit flatly
"But they're a lot more sophisticated once you get to know hem. They're extraordinarily clever, and they have natural affinity for magic."
>>114165Phospy looks at Ash as if she's undermining his features at her first sentence, but recedes when she starts to indirectly compliment hi.
"Is that so?" Topaz says, a bit surprised. "What hobbies you admire of them? Some sort of past time that isn't pillaging or fighting?"
>>114166I'm sorry, but I'm going to bed now.
I'll type up a better response tomorrow.
Maybe I should have animated some statues the previous day, in game...
Oh well, too late for that now.
Maybe a couple Simulacrum clones would be good to have handy. I could make a shadow solar. Would be nifty.
Hopefully, we can get through this session without the wifi cutting out.
>>114166"I wouldn't say I admire any of their hobbies per say.. It's more of a matter of experience. Dragons are just another part of this world. They're as natural as any one of us."
Also, who wants to be teleported if I use word of recall?
I'm not going to burn an 8th level slot to teleport us out of danger if it means leaving half of the party behind.
>>114174Topaz nods.
"Oh, so you simply value their existence in the grand scheme of things. Understandable."
Phospy is a bit bummed out over her words though.
>>114177Phospy, understandably, is shocked at the mare assaulting his snout, turning his head away. The small line of steam coming out of his nostrils.
Topaz giggles at the dragons' actions, patting his head.
"Oh, don't be so flustered. She means well."
This doesn't really comfort the dragon's embarrassed demeanor, only increasing the steam output.
>>114181Phospy's demeanor only worsens by the taunting chuckles of the mischievious dragonborn nun.
"Don't worry, Phospy. You'll be fine."
She pats the dragon some more.
"He doesn't deal with attacks on his pride well."
>>114175I consent to the activity.
>>114182I think I'll set us to teleport to an Island in Thalasia then. No evil creatures could reach us there.
If we need to get back to ye old ponyville, Sister can Planeshift us.
"Humility is better learned young." The nun chides.
>>114183Phospy looks at her indignantly, speaking in Draconic.
>"I'm not a hatchling!"He grumbles, generating more pats from the mare.
>"I'm an adult." [1d20+25 = 39]>>114184>"~Sure you are." the ancient mare coos*Pets dragon*
Rolling Proffesion (masseuse)
>>114185The dragon coos before biting his tongue, moving away from her soft hooves.
>"C-cheater! I won't fall for your dirty tricks and charms."Topaz giggles in turn.
"D'aww, look at him. He's acting the same way as when we first met."
Also roger that on the changed destination.
>>114186On second thought, I'm not sure if that's wise.. I'd have to use my planar bubble ability to use it to travel between planes, and I'm still not sure if the party consents to being teleported across the planes yet.
Sister bullies the dragon a bit more before returning to her turtle.
>>114187Ash could swear the dragon's scales got a bit wetter than usual, clenching his teeth in a vain attempt to show weakness against the invading nun.
As she leaves to the turtle, he gasps for breath, letting out a long stream of steam from his nostrils yet again.
Topaz simply giggles at this display.
>>114188Basically, yes.
>>114188So, how many dragons are around here? A few hundred? A thousand? How big are they on average?
>>114190A few hundred of different colors, averaging about huge size range.
>>114191>huge size rangePhospy is feeling a little more scared than usual.
>>114191Are there a lot as big as the dragon Sister say in the scrypool?
>>114193A few dozen, but none of them seems to be white.
>>114194I guess we'll have to just keep going forward.
Did my survival check lead us there safely?
>>114195It is
leading you forward safely until we reach 5/5.
>>114196Good Lord...
I guess we'll just have to wait then...
>>114203Yay. Artificer is here. We've got our primary buffer.
>>114212"So Ash,How do you make those portals?"
>>114217"Yea Like that one."
She points to the boop portal
"That's not a 'portal'. It's a storm." the nun corrects
"A lot of ponies these days don't know it, but all storms in the world are connected. If you know the right tricks, they can be incredibly helpful."
Cowe makes a 'tch' sound. "Spellcasters,..."
>>114223Topaz listens, enraptured.
"So we basically hitched a ride with a wandering cloud?"
>>114226"Well, not a wandering cloud. I cloud that I called." The nun says, as she levitates ever-forward
>>114223"Looks like a portal to me."
>>114229Topaz giggles.
"Right. Forgot your weather powers. So we basically became droplets in the cloud until we came here?"
>>114230"It's not." the nun says flatly
"Portals are much quicker."
>>114233"I Don't Know of any spells like that. Are you a sorcerer?"
>>114234"I'm more of a priestess, if you'd call it that." Sister replies
>>114235She squints at her
Candy's Eye's becoming as slanted as the Kirin's
"What do you mean by priestess?"
>>114236"You know. A shrine maiden. An oracle. A mare of faith. Religious duties cover most of my schedule on a centuries basis."
