Welcome back to the Latest Thread of Occupied Equestria

Onyx, Spark and Brie settle down for the night in a cabin in the woods along with a set of recently rescued ponies, saved from Changeling cocoons, as well as the changelings who sought to take them captive, who are themselves locked away as captives.

In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, Iron, and now Midnight Lily do their last preparations before seeking to take on a creature smuggling operation in a port-side neighborhood

Well, it’s a much more boring than normal weekend with no work, no out of town trip, and my gaming computers out of action.

So I was thinking about having a pointy witch for my chracter. The twist is that the hat is actually my mimic familiar.

Be like.
>Put your hoof into my hat and see what you will pull up.
>Oh, it seems you pulled off your hoof rather than pulling something up.
>No, refunds for the magic trick.

I'm just joking. I will have a huge constrictor snake as my familiar.

I meant for the joke option. Taking the ponies' hooves is unconstitutional and would mean life sentence for your atrocious crimes against equinity.
As for the actual option, use the hat to hide the snek if possible, or make it look like a non-pet being.

Yeah, I don't know if I wanna be a fugitive the first thing in the story or maybe that could be fun.

I thought I could just have it slither besides me as I went about my day. You mean that ponies will have a problem with that. Well, clearly they need to become more tolerant.

While the ponies are quite tolerant, I don't expect them to accept slithering snakes that could constrict a pony into submission, and call the pest exterminators.
Better have its ID handy just for lulz. That will make them flabbergasted.
For the fugitive route it sounds quite fun, but be mindful the Baltimares are working with the newly established law that is the Black Hooves.

If it’s a large snake, have it wrap itself around your pony’s barrel, then cover him over with a cloak or trench coat.

>clearly they need to become more tolerant.
When the latest of the ascended princesses, Princess Twilight, told the ponies of the land that Friendship means looking past physical differences to extend harmony to all sentient creatures, many joined her. Many of them agreed but only to an extent - they remained chauvinistic in their understanding of friendship, willing to admit other creatures but only so long as they acted like good ponies. And many, as there are in every society, resisted change, and believe that friendship is best left to the ponies.

There is nothing that I have said that indicates this yet but you are right. In fact, I have a question for the GM regard that my chracter knows things that I don't.
Does new mareland have and magic academia or something similar since my character is a wizard. I would like her to have gotten/getting her spellcasting education from there.

A little background on New Mareland. Formerly the Dominion of New Mareland, it was a colony of Equestria but has now reversed the situation. It’s culturally, ethnically and religiously rather similar to Equestria and is settled on the edges of the griffin lands on the continent of Griffonia. Their economy was dependent in large part on the Griffonian empire and so fell apart when that empire collapsed. They find the new griffin kingdoms that have arisen there to be threatening, and also do not like the hordes of griffin immigrants who compete for precious few jobs and who might serve as a “fifth column” for an invasion. The wildlife is harsher there, and ponies defend themselves from it more often. They are also further away from the princesses both literally and metaphorically than average equestrians.

Yes, there would be magic academies there. Sunset, which is kind of like a pony version of Sydney, Australia, is the capital there and has the biggest university. However, the real top of the line pony magicians go to the university in Canterlot, and most big cities - Manehattan, Fillydelphia, and even Baltimare - have big universities.

Okay, so the old Equestria is gone, right? And changelings and the new goverment has split the remained of the old Equestria.
Which one of thes universiteies are closest to the changeling border.
Is this new pony goverment at war with the the changelings as in are they trying to retake their lands?

Well, the Principality of Equestria is gone, meaning the government, the princesses, and the elements of Harmony (the ponies who represented them) are gone. The equestrian ponies, the Lands, their institutions, and in many cases even the local governments have survived, at least on the New Mareland side.

>are they at war to reclaim lost pony lands
The situation is closest in nature to occupied Poland during the Molotov Ribbentrop pact between September 1939 and June 1941. Another comparison would be occupied Germany immediately after world war 2. Basically, the two powers were recently co-belligerents or allies who fought together against Equestria, and ultimately split the country in half. Right now, there is peace between the Changelings and the Ponies, and the Pony government is actually still at war with different griffin based nations across the ocean. But the Changelings and the ponies are ideologically opposed, and there is every reason to believe this peace will not last.

Canterlot is right next to the border, with the border (in at least one version of the map) actually running along that river that goes right through ponyville. Bales and Hoofington would also be right along the border. The university in Sunset is almost as far away from the changelings as you can get and still be in the Ponish speaking world.

Of course, if you don’t want to be told lore, you can make a character who is not from the game’s setting, and this learns about the world at the same time as you the player, while allowing you to mostly invent your own civilization for her to come from.

Silver slips into the water, and feels it not much above icy cold in the dead winter. The silt bottom, or what parts of it are not rock and I identified debris, is more black and gory than is really pleasant, probably from decaying plant matter, but possibly from bitumen or Celestia knows what.

Silver knows he has messed up, and he knows that time is of the essence. He places a forehoof onto the walkway. The uneven cement surface is a help more than a hinderance here, as it provides traction. A rock in the water provides the same to his rear hooves, and he pushes himself out and onto the walkway.

The griffin is looking straight at him. But Silver has his greatsword grasped in blue light. It flies through the air in his levitated grasp, to the griffin’s left, then, jabbed on its pommel end right into the side of his head behind his jaw. He instantly falls down, evidently unconscious, face down into the walkway. A wing and his foreclaw dip into the water, and the bar he was holding falls down into the water with a splash. Dark Star’s arrow sticks up out of the griffin’s back

There’s the question of how much sound the griffin made. I guess Silver did roll an 18, then a 20 on an attack roll, then am 18 on a conformation roll, so maybe it is fair to say that Silver got lucky this time...

Over past the tunnel entrance some 15 feet, the land edges down towards the water inelegantly, through rock, exposed mud, a set of stones that must have comprised an old, Now half collapsed sea wall, and riff-raf building material that may even be the stones from the original fortress here the dragons destroyed. The griffin is dragged upwards, over the steep set of brick and stones, which have rounded edges thanks to gradual erosion from the beating of waves, and onto the grass. He’s pretty heavy, and it requires serious effort from Dark Star to pull him up
