The statue of Zeus was built in a far away land. Our scouts found more barbarians in the desert and our workers complete the farm. Not all that much happening on this side of the world, thankfully no barbarian spear man have come out of the fog. I'm thinking building a mine on the hill next to Krakow would be great, Krakow has all the food it needs for now, what it lacks is production, and the mine would be a quick solution, where improving the iron would require cutting down the forest. But since the Granary is almost done, cutting down the forest would give a good boost to production for whatever we build next, so it might be a good strategy.

My intuition says to save the forest for a wonder. But I'm not very familiar with Civ 5

Then maybe a pasture for the horse resource, we don't need iron right now and the mine would only give us a 3 hammer tile while the pasture for the horses will give three hammers and one food.

Take it in your own time anon, and don't overwork yourself. Remember this is suppose to be fun for you and not a choir. So I say you are more than allowed to be lax on number of turns per day.

>>708
We will probably build a mine there anyway at one stage so no reason to wait. Fuck the forest and make the mountain into an iron mine.
>>709
That is a very good point. Make houses for the ponies first.

No need for you to apologize either. Just find a tempo you are comfortable with and feel free to take breaks or change the pace any time you want.

>Just find a tempo you are comfortable with and feel free to take breaks or change the pace any time you want.

10 turns a day was a nice tempo in the past, before I brought the game to this board I was playing the way I'm going to be playing now, a few turns in the morning, a few turns at night, and keeping a pace of 8 or 10 turns a day was the average. For now I want to see if I can at least keep this pace of 10 turns a day, the latter eras might become even slower(especially when big wars start, it will take a lot of time to plan military unit actions), but for now at least 10 turns a day should be slow enough to enjoy the game while being consistent.

I think it's about time to decide on a new city placement. Also I agree with horses being pastured, and then the Iron mine being developed next after that.

The worst part is, right now, I feel ready to begin again!

But knowing my seemingly unbreakable cycle of booms and busts when it comes to what I'm inspired to do, it's only fair that I shove my life story down your throats... Lol, no not at all, sorry for being so over the top with my explanations.

But yes, if I started now without addressing the critical flaw in my ability to complete things I feel inspired to do, it's going to get confusing when this exact instance repeats itself in a month or two when everything seemed to be going really well

Yeah, it could, I just unjustly kind of want to know the thoughts people have towards this (kind of like taking an advance on my paycheck... On my FIRST week on the job, I really haven't proved I'mean up for the task yet, so I know you guys can't really assess I'd I'mean even worth waiting for if/when I vanish again)

In my eyes it only takes one anon looking forward to the project for me to continue, but I don't want to hog up a thread slot with my unprofessional approach unless people really don't mind my obnoxious behavior

Well I'm ready to continue the game, a new age or inspiration grips me.

But like before, 1 turn per 2.5 hours, 10 turns a day, no scheduled time for these updates. This is the most realistic way for me to have a chance of not being burnt out. I basically always carry my phone (using to type out all this right now, that's why the I'mean stuff happens when I'm trying to type [I'm], autocorrect is killing me with predictive words)

Sweet, well my first posts will be in 8 hours or so, it's been raining for a few days and the weather suddenly broke into a windy/sunny/blue day so I'm going to be out there for most of the day biking around and stuff, so just a little bit longer, then the polish kingdom will continue. so, stay tuned, I promise this is the last dramatic post I make(thisweekatleast)

yes, yes, right. So, Poland, we sent off that scout to the desert, we had a settler being built/finished.

There were some good places for that third city, and most likely we should settle east to grab land from the mongols

So we finally have the settler!
>we should settle in the east to head off Mongol expansion
When I first saw the map I thought we should settle either in the west on the wide isthmus to prevent other civilizations from coming into the territory, or in a spot on
The south because it was a good location. However, that was before I was aware we shared a segment of a continent with the Mongols. Can you post a screenshot of the areas in the east?

>maps
Earlier in the thread we brainstormed some good places for the third city, here are the strategic maps, not much has changed in the last twenty turns except for what our scouts are uncovering in the west.

Strategic maps are great, but I also use them because there is glitch in the game, if I turn on the resource icons, I can actually see resource that other more advanced civilizations have unlocked on the map, even if the current civilization I'm playing hasn't(like iron, I was able to see iron on the map even though I didn't have the tech) but the bug doesn't happen in strategic mode(or hex map)

Well, looking at the map it looks like a spot on the river that feeds into the lake, just beneath the location of the horseman, and either by the lake itself or one tile to the East, is a prime location. That, combined with a city on the coast to the south of it, as well as strategic tile purchases, would box in and contain Mongol expansion (at least by land) and mark off a clear territory for Poland. Although I will say that the costal location to the south has almost no resources, and is not as prime a location as several others

yeah, if we settle father east we could get copper and a whole bunch of mountains

You mean over here? by the marble? There were some talk that eventually we could raise Fort Saber to the ground in the distant future

Right, so I should I start improving the mountain tile next to the Krakow so that we could have a three production tile? After that we could start cutting down the forest and use the extra production to rush something, maybe another settler?

Krakow has a decent amount of food tiles(and with the granary it will have so much food that the rate the city grows will out pace our happiness, especially with a third city on the way, and improving the horses isn't useful because we don't have horse units unlocked(and if I remember, an improved horse tile gives another food resource, so it's not a priorty at the moment)

It looks like the tile on the river next to the stone is a clear best option now. As for the Iron resource, it looks like it will be within the city limits of a future coastal city next to the fish resource
>>849
I always went to set up an a claim for a territory for my civilization to expand into as soon as possible, blocking off the expansion of other civilizations into that territory and providing the most territory possible for my civilization
