So it happens that 4chan got hacked and lot of stuff is getting leaked.

>>383988>Though mind you if you want to read to become a better writer, you're probably much better off reading classic literatureShould also add, I've been neck deep in a lot of black library books and other warhammer literature. Ciaphas Cain and the Gotrek & Felix series to name a few examples. But the mods just had to drop gr15 for the recent April fools and reactivate my itch for pone. Hence my urge to put pen to paper.
>>383983>>383988By the way, if this is the first time you're doing any creative writing, common wisdom is that (like most other things you do for the first time) it's very unlikely that you will get everything right. So just like with any other skill, it's important to start actually doing and practicing. But don't necessarily expect to put out a magnum opus with zero prior experience.
Of course that's not prescriptive, and it's possible to start writing and then improve as you go and then for example go back and re-edit earlier chapters. Writing is more important than not writing, either way. Just something to keep in mind - not meant to discourage, but rather on the opposite to encourage you to just go ahead and do it and not get bogged down in perfectionism by setting your own expectations too high for yourself, and thus never getting any practice in because you're unsatisfied with what you're coming up while lacking the practice and experience to do better.
Talking about incomplete fics, I remember when i was epicly trolled by the author. So i see this story - "letters from a friend at the end of the world"
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/65656/130k words, a Trixie redemption story - an interesting premise,
finished , so i decided to give it a read. Guess what? Turned out it's the FIRST part of the story that ends on a cliffhanger, and the second part was abandoned in 2014 after a single chapter.
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/233420/Why wouldn't you at least leave a note about it in the description or before the first chapter? I was extremely dissapointed.
>>383992Ah yes the classic Empty Horizons trick (yes I'm still mad)
>>383988Will keep an eye out for it.
Are we finally past the bump limit?
>>384000been since after 750, but as catalog doesn't really move, keep going
>>384001Apparently so. So what do we do now? Join other threads or remake this one?
>>384004For future reference I think the bump limit is 800.
>>384004This board seems slow enough that I don't see a point in remaking, at least for now.
>>384004The Mods could change the Limit, I'm not sure if they can after it's been hit or not though.
>>384009As it is past bump limit its time is limited no matter what and less and less people will be able to find it as it slides down the board. A fresh thread that collects any useful info before it disappears would probably be wise.
>>384012Fair point. So "4chan refugee rendezvous point" of sorts with a QRD of the hack details and a QRD of /mlpol/ and where to go (mainly highlighting /poner/ and
>>383305, basically)
>>383831Was in the ai thread on /mlp/, went out for dinner and then saw that "/QA/ fucking won" had been appended to everything.
>>384014or comfy 4chan happening surveillance
also another info package
>>>/poner/670 → >>384014Something like that. There's also the janny logs to work though. I did about 7 so far and another guy a few more and I might go through more later. It's quite an interesting insight into the life of a janny, gives us an idea of what gets done for free and gives us something to do.
>>384016That's true.
Actually maybe the next thread should be posted in /poner/, since that's explicitly the /pol/-free /mlp/-only board for /mlp/ refugees. Based anons can then migrate to /mlpol/ also but those who want to remain contained won't have to venture outside.
>>384017I think an OP/qrd can just link the neocities link. A thread digging through it and posting findings sounds fun though.
>>384021but any new anons will most likely land in /mlpol/
>>384021There are loads of logs and that neocities is quite slow to load. Going through them is more difficult than you might think but I believe it's a worthy exercise overall.
>>383831Ok /trash/sdg making some humongous tittie toriels and naked Krystals.
>>383995I mean the whole second part of that story has been finished. Of course, that ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger too so I'm waiting for part 3 to be released and hopefully that'll end the story but it's such a well written fic I really don't mind because it takes so long to get through both parts. It also could be worse, you could be waiting for the author to continue Night's Favoured Child for like 12 years.
i can't bake new one as i don't currently have access to my main computers image storage
>>384023Maybe but not necessarily. I dunno, I'd make it in /poner/ but I don't have a strong opinion on it.
>>384028I am angry because it's advertised as a "trilogy" but the definition of a trilogy is three separate stories within the same continuity. The Horizons series is literally a single story, just formatted in three volumes, which is not what a trilogy is.
>>384023I concur
The meeting point for the 4chanocaust in /mlpol/ the site should be a thread on /mlpol/ the board, new bake should stay here
>>383874Can you tell me where /vt/ migrated to? After april fools I was getting along well with the Vallure thread.
>>384031>I am angry because it's advertised as a "trilogy" but the definition of a trilogy is three separate stories within the same continuityDo you want it to be three seperate stories? I kind of liked that the plot focused mostly on the mane six. I assume the author is going for a lotr style where each story continues immediately from where the last one ended and will culmiate with everyone meeting up and having some final epic showdown with celestia or some such. In any case, it could definitely be worse since author is still active unlike Night's Favoured Child where I have to assume the author died or something.
>>384031You can post where you want but a landing point on /mlpol/ for people finding the website would probably work best to gather people.
>>384038I am going to make a thread here that collects information about the hack from this thread and anything we know about when/if 4chan is coming back. You can make something on /poner/ as well if you like.
>>384035https://boards.holotower.org/hlgg/index.html from what I've heard. Checking now it looks prodigously active so seems about right.
>>384036No, I want the author to be clear about it being one story, an incomplete one, rather than slapping the "complete" label and tricking me into reading it.
>I assume the author is going for a lotr styleI agree, yeah
>where each story continues immediately from where the last one endedNo, LoTR style is where it's a single story and it ends exactly once.
>>383875>1PBIDThe fracture point exists now, and didn't exist before. People from nhnb are shitting up mlpol and /poner/, since they believe all the bad people are over here, and all the based people are over there they dont care. The old alliance of /mlp/ and /pol/ doesn't mean anything to these chronic ragefags
>>382875Mostly altchans, I should think. Xitter was regarded with contempt by most Anons there, excluding botfags and glowies constantly making Xitter screencap threads
>>382944>>382933Sharty are a tranny grooming cult backed by feds. They groomed Solomon Henderson to attempt a mass shooting. Don't underestimate their psychopathy or manipulation.
I think feds are under new management and wants their tranny cult to go away. Intel agencies don't announce firings or new plans/goals.
>>384059>No, I want the author to be clear about it being one story, an incomplete one, rather than slapping the "complete" label and tricking me into reading it.Eh, I can't really be too mad about it, if it were one story it'd still be listed as incomplete now and as you said, I may have never read it. However, I really enjoyed reading what is finished so far so I don't really have any regrets about it and I assumed the author did it so they could take breaks between writing the different installments.
>>383831Idk what it was but I was arguing with an anon about how big mares should. Judging by the real ponies, average adult equestrian mares should be around vid related. What do you guys think? Is it a good canon size for mares? Should we ask Ms. Faust how big FiM ponies are?
>>384131kek that's actually adorable
>>384134Exactly, its color make me imagine it as pre-alicorn Celestia.
>>384139Celestia when she is still normal mare sized, like twilight.
>>384141Oh alright, I interpreted that as she was on screen at one point in a flashback.
I haven't watched any of the episodes following the release of the movie.
>>384142It's okay, I should've worded that one differently.
>>382951>>382950>>382962my understanding of the leak was that it was the russian pony based chan that did it.
>>384137>>384139Anon is thinking of yellowstar
>>384131I personally prefer actual pony sized Ie big enough to ride. but there is no wrong way to fantasize.
>>384026while I hate gook moot and love 4chan, this is going to be a great lasting impression to anyone who thinks this retard owns 4chan.
>>384155Lasting impression on site quality too. The slow slide into shit was so slow it's hard to notice. It's a breach of fresh air being on mlpol/8chan
>>383874>The one thing that every /mlp/ poster has in commonthere was also the migration off of pastebin to ponepaste that what seemed like a supermajority also agreed upon
>>384183>pastebinI'll admit, there's times I miss it. But that's probably the nostalgia speaking.
>>384183I mean the thing is pastebin wasn't some primary community site, it was just a tool we used to host our greentexts. The tool became unusable, someone made a better tool for poni needs, everyone started using that instead.
A far cry from the board itself getting imploded and everyone having to coordinate moving somewhere else without even being able to, well, talk on the board.
>>384186you're not wrong
i was referring to the 'oh shit' factor that every anon at the time had, because all it really was one day was pastebin putting up a warning that they were going to start purging pastes (read: shit they didn't like), causing horsefuckers to panic and start archiving everything similar to what /h/ and other boards did when it was thought that sadpanda was getting shut down
that combined effort of archiving/evacuating every last pony greentext from pastebin while ponepaste could get built in the first place really stuck out to me, and the fact that /mlp/ was better prepared for pastebin's purge than /g/, /mu/, or other boards was very amusing to me
>>384187Oh yeah, archiving is some good autism. Horsefucker archiving is pretty good in general, see: TPA for youtube videos, ponemusic for music (rip though), etc. Or the boorus having multiple copies. Or the /mlpg/ archives which, as far as I can tell, are some of the few surviving archived threads from so far back.
It's nice.
>>383874>The one thing that every /mlp/ poster has in common is that we were all tolerating /mlp/ as it was, no more rules and no fewer, no better jannying and no worse. It was the lowest common denominator and as such the one place where everyone could still be counted on posting in. With that option removed, and everyone forced to "pick" their "favourite" alternative, the rifts in ideology between the posters are just going to open up immediately and you'll end up with competing camps hating each other. You already see this with nhnb and here.People are tribal in nature and it getting worse by the day. But in the end of the day it's the survival of the fittest and eventually 4chan had to go down.
>>384158unfortunately a lot of the places on 4chan i go to probably wont survive without a real chan. the idiots in
isekai wont survive smuglo.li's autistic spell everything grammatically correct /a/. /vg/ had a section for kirby, megaman, and falcom games. mlp had tech sanctuary and im just not confident we'll see that continue here but we'll see. I wonder if the mint threads will move here for now. I dont know if I ended up getting my coin or not.
>>384205>>383874personally I understand the hatred of barbies given they are ugly and all, but i hope mlpol's poner survives, we already have /ponerpics/ and honestly we need a way to preserve content from eqg especially the voice lines without atuistic ziggers starting fights over it. this isnt fucking 4chan so everyone can >nohooves to their hearts content without tranny jannies approval. that ought to be enough for people. In my opinion while I am a huge 4chan fanboy the site spiritually breathed its last death when the sage command was no longer allowed to be announced so it could not be taught to minorities.
>>384207I'll say here and say it again, fuck the tranny jannies on 4chan.
There was this russian poster on /pol/ and whenever somebody make a thread with a sexy woman pic in the op, the russian would always reply with a furry fox pic and post that say "no tail". Guess who get ban? The russian furry poster. Everyday I pray that Putin never conscript this man so he can keep posting furry fox pics and making the jannies work.
>>384212There have been many such staples of culture that were sistematically destroyed by overjannying
The BGC greek dude was also one of them, there was another russian spamming venti with "0/10" on every woman bread, the fact that one could get a very big holiday by provoking lee into the thread (I personally liked doing it with picrel, was hit or miss for both baiting barneyfag and getting b&), surely there are many other better examples
But still, 4ch is like a public walk, society in the open, even if it was full of degeneracy and overmoderation one could still get a chuckle out of it by lurking on a handpicked thread. The fact that sharties went ham on it out of self-righteous wokeism is very retarded
Even more so that the large amount of real organic traffic down there prob went out onto twitter and discord circlejerks at this point, it's only dwindling even more the whole imageboard ecosphere
>>384216to be honest i dont blame sharty but i also think they where short sighted, if i had that kind of back door i would try to find a way to get long term access.
It's baffling that anyone's treating this as if 4chan is going to die for good when we know for a fact it's infested with feds. It's too useful to them for cointel purposes to go away forever, it'll be a couple weeks at most, but it'll go back up and it'll be back to business as usual.
>>384218while I agree that it will be back up within a couple of weeks, I am unsure if it will be business as usual. I suspect that there will be a decent sized drop in users. Which might be good for some boards, but bad for places like /mlp/
>>384216overjannying have destroyed too many boards on 4chan. I know for a fact a tranny janny went hard on /u/.
I also the BGC greek guy. So many funny moments.
>>384224/u/ used to have a dedicated mlp thread back in the day and do their own rpg maker threads. it was never good even back then but its a shell of itself now which is odd given how much free real estate dykeshittery gets.
>>384218the problem isnt that we know its useful the problem is theyre a bunch of whiney inshitified retards who can barely even do their jobs on their best day of the year. nobody has any reason to think they wont cock it up enough to kill the site.
>>384225But I do miss /qa/ before it got shitted up and shut down. Jannies would you ban you if you post the "eating the corndog" meme on /pol/.
>>384222Imageboard users aren't that transient, I already know a bunch of people that keep trying to get onto the site even though they know it's down, all out of sheer rote.
>>384227Whether they can do their jobs well or not isn't the relevant bit, it's that they want 4chan to continue existing for cointel purposes. That's pretty much why it stuck around this long despite being decried globally as a so-called problem. It is actively being protected by the US feds ever since they gained control over it in the late 00s over the CP issue, and extended it to /pol/ 2016 and onwards. The US isn't even the only country with a vested interest in 4chan staying online.
>>384235>Whether they can do their jobs well or not isn't the relevant bit, it's that they want 4chan to continue existing for cointel purposesif you do a shitty job running the nuclear reactor in a submarine it doesnt matter how much you need the sub, the reactor is going to melt down and you will lose your sub. the people in charge of 4chan have no answer for this, and the fact that it got that way in the first place has everyone cogent of the fact. If they had any sense at all, they would just put the site up and hire a couple people to watch it. but they wont. they are retards anon. utter retards. they cant problem solve like this.
>>384212I could have sworn he was FSB or some level of government intelligence. His whole job was probably to shitpost anthro waifus, which I can respect. Even though I prefer pony.
>>384273You don't think it's a bit hyperbolic to be comparing a security hole in a taiwanese papermaking forum to a nuclear meltdown?
at some point i'll need to acknowledge the 4chan tabs open on my browser aren't ever going to update again, but not today. people are strange. i know enough about IT to be aware those threads aren't coming back even if the site comes back. you'd have to fight me to close them.
>>384321They have thread numbers, so when the site does come back you'll be able to look them up in the archives and also use them as a reminder of which threads to seek out again to lurk in.
That being said it's not necessarily guaranteed they'll do a post DB wipe. They might, especially if it's easier and they find the work to migrate and patch everything already hard enough, so it's perhaps even likely, but there's nothing saying that they must definitely do it.
>>384326imagine if it comes back, and everyone and their brother tries to respond to chicken jockey which crashes the site again.
>>384338chicken jockey was the last post on /qa/
I'm pretty sure /qa/ will get completely deleted with no trace of its existence persisting
>>384358Based. /mlpol/ has final victory over /qa/
>>384359Frenly reminder: Mlpol shut down /qa/ LONG before Soyjack ever thought to
a guy from here had been hanging out in my thread on trash for a couple of weeks, but now with the rush of people i doubt i'll spot him.
so, fun story about QA, from waaay back. i forgot all about this, but there used to be a guy in my group who made it his life mission to annoy QA. they fucking hated him, it was hilarious. he was an invincible ban evader that would come back any time mods banned him. crazy swedish bastard, i never found out what happened to him.
>>384440he called himself rainbow wuma, and would post smug rainbow dash pics in 10 seconds flat after every ban.
>>384442my thread was one of the last remnants of the first /b/ pony threads from a long time ago. i'm the dedicated autist that was keeping the official pony thread alive, if you ever saw it.
>>384444Yes, I recognized you. Thank you again for your dedication! I'm Hazel by the way.
>>384456i should have known because of the french flag. it's good to see you. yes, this is smokey. i was considering making a bunker thread for us, but i'm not sure which site to use. there's poner here, which seems mostly mlp types, then mlp on 8chan.moe, and there's also a trash on 8chan. any thoughts?
>>384457I thought you would recognize me because of the flag. I like this place, sp could be an option too if you want to avoid poner.
i was thinking about it, and it's possible ponies may have indirectly killed 4chan. because when i showed up there, it was a wild west in terms of moderation. People screamed and screamed to "bring back snacks!" as in, return the style of heavy handed modding he'd dished out. then, ponies arrived. people started harassing moot until the point he not only created more mods, but also the janitor position. the hated jannies that would ruin every board, and invite the group that eventually claimed the site's destruction. he also created mlp as an excuse to ban ponies everywhere else. moot only cared about 4chan for the popularity it brought him, so when people at cons started yelling at him about ponies, well. there was going to be some action. but that's why my group never got along with the mlp board, because it was literally made to spite us.
>>384463i like this place too, and ninjaz did kind of invite us right before shtf at 4chan. i think poner is fine. i don't have any ill will towards the actual people of mlp. in fact one of my friends had been making inroads to unite us before everything died. i'll see what i can do.
>>384466That's nice you're creating new connections.
Sure, as you like. I'll stay around anyway and I will let Duchess know if you're doing something. Take care.
>>384476excellent. i don't actually have him on steam. now let's see if i can do a cross board link right:
>>>poner>>2425 → ok there it is. great, i get to be a chan newfag again.
>>384361Why would soyteens shut down their own board zoomer?
>>384638Uhh... A bird in the hand is worth two in the wings?
>>382842THE S(OYJ)ACK OF 4CHANTINOPLE
>>384457Fuck, I haven't heard that name since 2016 and everyone was still on 8chan, is Blueberry still around or is he ded?
>>384639>SoyteensDon't use their psyop term. they are tranny groomers.
>>384932i think blew died. i haven't seen him in forever.
we're over in
>>>/poner/2425 →
