Six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where Chrysalis chose a different approach to her second attack on Equestria. The Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures thank to their dealing with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.
Ash and Iron seem to want to head out from the abbey. Dark Star was having a conversation with the rescued foals after doing community service. Silver is having a surprisingly friendly conversation with Blue Skies about politics. Spark is babysitting and Brie is supposed to be doing the same. Onyx is sleeping.

>>90598Well shit.>>90599Iron shakes his head.
"I sadly do not have the proper stability to handle a mare, unlike you."
>>90596"hello,are you sister marey? i was told you were in charge here."
>>90601"I haven't exactly settled down either. In any event, it takes a very long time for a foal to become old enough"
>>90602"Hello. Who might you be?" She looks up at him, and seems relatively warm. She is older, and is a grey earth pony
>>90600There you are
>>90603This causes another eyebrow raise.
"Do you participate in... active duties of sorts? You seem like the one to give out orders around here."
>>90605"Are you asking if I have ever served in the military? No, my number was never called"
>>90606Iron chuckles.
"While you do seem fit for it, I was talking about doing the same activity as your grunts."
>>90604"my name is Dark Star, i helped the Kirin nun retrieve those foals from.... i was thinking about volunteering here to try and help them recover as much as possible."
>>90610"Oh.... Oh, excellent! What do you think you can do?"
>>90608Ash would be the blue-pilled. Iron is a white knight of sorts. If this keeps up, he may snap out of it and decide it's not worth it.>>90609Iron nods.
"I see."
He breathes in again.
He considers in his mind if it's even worth it to keep this up. He's not budging an inch. Maybe Ash can pull an argument that may seal the deal.
Preferrably where no fires start. He would like to keep his friendship with Cauldron stable.
>>90612"What is it you want?" He asks
>>90613Iron breathes out.
"To be fair, I just want to help my client to retrieve the foal on your posession," he admits. "I think that is the plan. This is why I am pestering you with my questions and suggestions."
Hopefully this doesn't have any serious ramifications that screws everything. >>90611"im not really sure, what needs to be done around here? i can sympathize with all the orphans though. i lost my family a while back."
>>90615"Thanks in no small part to that Zebrican lizard... thing, we've been able to take care of many of the physical needs of the nunnery and the orphanage. It's the emotional needs where things are lacking"
>>90614He looks at Iron questioningly
"Retrieve?"
>>90616"Yes. Possibly bring it back to the abbey that he was taken from."
Iron exhales, feeling something wrong will happen from admitting this.
>>90616"i could help with that, ive been gifted with Empathy, since im not a zebra or changeling." is there anything the abbey needs,in way of supplies?"
>>90618"That's an... odd thing to just say. Your gift of toys has definitely helped. What do you mean by supplies, exactly?"
>>90617Just a minute, to see if Ash will join or if Iron is doing this alone >>90620"Food or water? does the abbey need any repairs?"
>>90622"Oh, Ash has helped us with our food and water. The abbey thankfully was not damaged in the War, and was maintained up until we were cut off from Canterlot"
I'm here. I've just been really busy e
waiting for the answer to some issues that concerns me.
>>90625Eh, i've been inexcusable autistic in how i've let it distract me from everything... Alright, now to figure out how to finish this scene without rolling any dice...
>>90625A puppet show might be good>>90623"You said the foals need emotional support right? are there any particular foals that need more than the rest?"
>>90626Just so you know, Iron has ratted out your intentions of taking the foal back to the abbey.
>>90628Well, it's not like she was trying to keep it a secret in the first place.
>>90620Sister Ash clears her throat after a few moments of stupefied inaction.
>>90632I didn't know what to do if he refused, tbh.
>>90625Top fucking kek>>90626You might have to - dare I say it! -
roleplay>>90627"Well, I would say any of the recently rescued foals. Little Bridged Clear always wants hugs, Mint Marine and White Orchid will need therapy, Sunny Daze was startled by a large wolf just two days ago, Abbey Willows has been trying to turn to dark magic... and so on"
>>90616>Zebrican lizard… thing[Indignant snorting]
>>90615Sister Ash nods slowly in response.
"That is, in fact, what we came for."
>>90635>>90617"Did you think we wouldn't want some recoupment on our investment?"
>>90634"as long as the therapist isnt a follower of sigmare Freud they should be ok. ill find them a good one. Did you say Dark Magic?"
>>90637"They will never get therapy. As for the dark magic, it was sacrifices to evil gods, yes"
>>90636Iron shakes his head.
Hopefully this will not be too expensive.
>>90636*eyes narrow*
"Do you consider children to be property?"
>>90638"why wont they get therapy? a foal did that? why?"
>>90641"Therapy is expensive. As for Abbey Willows behavior, I am afraid I do not know why"
>>90639>>90640He almost answers, then he looks over to the side as if in deep thought pondering this philosophical question
>>90642"how much does it usually cost? she didnt say why she did it?"
>>90643"We didn't ask, and it can be many hundreds of bits even for a few sessions"
>>90642Iron awaits Ash's reasoning to come to light. She might have a better path.
>>90642*eye narrowing intensifies*
>>90644"ill pay for it. i feel like i owe it to them."
>>90646After pondering Ash's question, he returns an answer
"Well... They are not real estate, obviously. And they don't quite seem to be goods or inventory. I think they are closest to capital, really. Like investments to produce other things of value"
>>90649Sister Ash is not visibly impressed.
"But do you consider them to be
things that these ponies to you, for you to profit off of and trade? Do you keep them around primarily for their sake, or for your own?"
>>90650"yes, what he did to them was unforgivable. i want to fix the damage he did to those poor colts."
>>90651I fucked up the syntax in that first sentence, but like hell i'm goingoing to type it again on this device.
>>90651"Are you an Equalist? An apprentice is like an employee, but paid less."
>>90652"There's quite a lot in need of fixing with those two"
>>90655Child labor is immoral, especially when said child landed there as the result of human trafficking, and is working to shake down paupers for tribute.
>>90654"ill do whatever it takes."
>>90654Sister Ash seems slightly confused by the accusation.
"If I may get to the root of my question, would you allow this young one to leave on his own terms, if he so decided?"
>>90658His eyes narrow
>>90657>>90657"Thank you... It's great to see someone committed to helping the victims of the unrighteous"
>>90660Her eyes are so narrow, you'd think they were shut, if not for the glowing lines of light emanating from their narrow slits.
>>90660"Comte has been reported to the authorities. he will be dealt with
Harshly."
>>90661He’s giving her a run for her money
>>90662“He’s living a pained life as it is now, horrid beast that he is. I’m
concerned more about these foals”
I kind of wanted to see that racist children's play
>>90664She is Asian: racial bonus to eye-narrowing.
She stares right back at him, with her slits burning bright.
>>90664>He’s living a pained life as it is nowIndeed. There is no hope for the wicked.
Or at least that's what Sister Ash would say if she were there.
>>90665oh you will>>90664"Do you think the foals would like watching or being in a play? my mom used to love those. she loved taking me with her to see them." Dark star appears wistful
>>90661>>90670KEK"That's a great idea! A good way to get the foals doing things. Maybe even see if any them have talent for it. We haven't done one in many, many years, because the sisters have been so busy"
>>90671Dark Star smiles warmly
"Ill put one together. i might need help with the costumes though."
>>90672"That is the difficulty with plays. They require much investment to put together"
>>90669>>90667Iron is wondering what's happening.
>>90674A squinting contest, evidently.
>>90673"Any suggestions on where to start?"
>>90676"I can't really say I am blessed with the gifts of the theater, unfortunately"
>>90675"What are you getting at?"
>>90677"which sisters would know about that kind of stuff?"
>>90674"Would you, or would you not, allow this young one, or any children in his position, to leave on their own terms if they so chose?" She repeats in the same tone, her face not moving in the slightest
>>90680**What's the right pony?**
>>90678"Would know about which sort of stuff? Sister Cambric Shirt generally handles apparel for both the nunnery and the orphanage. Sister Peacock Feather may know something about literature or drama, but I don't think she's worked theatrically before. And nopony here has ever been an actor. Well, never acted professionally, at least"
>>90679"Would you allow any of the children at the orphange to leave?"
>>90684"It's not my place to stop children from leaving if they so please; only to give them a home they can happily return to." She replies adamantly
>>90686“Do you wish to ask Henhill something?”
>>90687"I would indeed. I have very many things I would like to ask him." She says, her head finally moving from its frozen position as she nods in agreement
>>90688“He’s standing right there.” Henhill is about 15 feet behind Willowbrooks and to his right, still near the rear exit or the room, standing silently.
“Are your eyes okay?”
>>90684Dark Star has an aura of excitement to him.
"Ill talk to both of them and see what we can put together. acting isnt that hard its just pretending."
Dark Star accidentally salutes sister marey out of excitement
>>90690“Good to see such enthusiasm” she says
>>90689>*Squinting stops*Sister Ash's eyes cease to glow and return to normal as she looks away.
She turns and slowly walks up to Henhill until she's right beside him, and speaks softly
"Would you mind if I asked you some questions about what happened since you were taken from the abbey?" She says
>>90693We're still sucking each other off. Come back later.
And tend to your wound already. >>90692Willowbrooks seems kind of suspicious of Ash as she walks past him, watching her most of the way, before keeping his eyes on Iron
>>90693The road goes on forever and the party never ends
Henhill has a sort of air to him of feeling above things
“What do you want to know?” He asks
>>90691"Thank you for allowing me to help the foals sister marey. ill be back later."
Dark Star heads towards sister peacock feather
>>90696Iron remains stoic. He watches Willow Brooks, just in case he decides to do something stupid.
>>90696"What happened to you?" She asks
"At the warehouse, and since then.."
>>90695I just assumed it was because you are generally crabby
>>90697Peacock Feather can be found in a class room, sitting at a desk with a number of empty wooden desks in front of her and a big black chalk board behind her. She is doing something with a set of papers in front of her, holding a quill with her hoof, and staring at the papers intently. She doesn’t seem to notice Dark Star enter the room
>>90698Iron has decidedly in doing plenty of stupid things without watching Willowbrooks before, but if he thinks it helps to watch him now...
>>90699“You see I’m here, don’t you? He said he would raise me. Make me into a respectable stallion”
And although I must apologize for showing up so late, it's also past 1:30 for me. I still wanna hear Henhill's story when I get the chance though.
>>90704Dark Star Stands in the open doorway and knocks on the side of the doorway to get her attention.
"Hello Sister Peacock Feathers. im Dark Star i just started volunteering here. and i asked sister marey about putting on a play for the foals, she told me you had some experience in Drama And Literature."
>>90709She looks up at Dark Star, with grey coat, no visible horn, and her mane completely covered by her cowl. Her magenta eyes begin to sparkle “You want to put on a play?”
>>90710"yes,sister. i thought it would boost their spirits."
>>90711“So? What were you wanting to run? A tragedy? A morality take? Romance? A religious scene? A folk tale? Slapstick comedy?”
>>90712"I Was thinking a Slapstick Comedy."
>>90716"For All of the foals here."
>>90717“Hmmm.... a comedy for everypony. I’ll see what I cannot find.”
Alright, I have to go to sleep now Sigh
I can't even get half of the nominal players online at once...
Well, I guess we can begin... something
[1d20+2 = 21]>>90725It wouldn't appear plausible from the atmosphere in the room to try to get a chance to talk to Henhill alone, would it? She wants to hear more from him, in detail.
Actually, may as well roll Sense Motive to try to get a hunch about that, before she tries to asks any stupid questions.
>>90704Sister Ash nods in acknowledgement.
"Yes.. And have you been well?" she asks with a bit of concern in her eyes
>>90726>a fucking 19Willowbrooks does
not keep his secrets
I'm guessing the sense motive roll is for Willowbrook, to see if he will let her talk with Henhill alone. The answer is no. At least, not at the moment. He wasn't expecting any pony to come into what must be his office at this moment, and feels as if he's been sort of invaded. Iron's reference to a mutual acquaintance may have disarmed the two guards outside, but Willowbrooks has not heard any of this. At the moment He's sort of wondering exactly why his guards let these two in. He is
very off put by Iron's set of armor, which is more extensive than even police or the military wear, and kind of implies an expectation of violence. He is also very off put by Ash's moralizing and constant reference to first degree felony crimes that he didn't have any part in save for part of the benefits. Nor does he like Iron's explicit announcement of their intent to try to take Henhill from him. On the positive side, Iron's opinion of his virtue in relationships has partly soothed him.
Perhaps he would be willing to let her speak to Henhill in private under changed circumstances,
but as it is now, no.
>>90726"I am okay" he says, as if trying to shut off the question
[1d20+2 = 12]>>90727>WillowbrooksHmmm, so I thought. She wouldn't bother asking for it then.
>first degree felony crimes that he didn't have any part in save for part of the benefitThis is almost as bad, by her own standards, but she only asked because she wasn't sure if he had any knowledge of the human trafficking going on.
Sister Ash flips hervshawl looks into his eyes.
"... You've been through quite a bit in these past two weeks.. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it..." she says softly
>>90728Actually, it was just to see if Willowbrooks would let me talk to him, but I may as well see if I have the same luck judging Henhill's attitude:
>>90727Rolling Sense Motive, to try to see if I can discern Henhill's attitude atm.
>>90730Ash discerns that Henhill is a male teenager, with the standard connotations that fact implies
>>90733Actually, that one fact tells you quite a bit about Henhill's motivations and dispositions as relevant to the negotiations, if only you think the situation through
>>90734So he's basically a boi that is following the wave because it makes him feel secure and good?
>>90734Sister Ash is a little bit naive when it comes to seeing through ponies that don't want to open up, in-character; but she could tell that a teenaged colt would be very impressionable and easily confused by these kinds of circumstances.
>>90727She takes another slow step towards Henhill.
"Have you been hurt at all since..
that time? Everypony at the abbey has been very worried about you.."
>>90736"Oh,
now they send someone to check on our well being? And define 'hurt'"
>>90737"Yes, for the past two weeks, nopony knew what to do..."
She cranes her neck a bit, as if inspecting him for bruises
"Hurt can be anything... I heardrum from the other ponies what they did in that warehouse.."
>>90738Well yeah
>>90739He moves away slightly. If he has any bruises, they are underneath fur, and he doesn't quite seem willing to submit to a medical examination
[1d20+5 = 23]
She does not pursue him closer, but her concern is evident in her expression.
Rolling Spot to squint closely for bruises, since she still hasn't given up on it.
"It took a while.. but I managed to find a clue to that warehouse just a few days ago.."
>>90741Slight blackening around the left eye
"And?" He asks
>>90743She stares sharply at the slight bruise for a fraction of a moment, before responding.
"...And so, I went there, with my friend Iron. I
We took back the foals who were still there, and have been finding the rest around the city ever since.." she says, sighing slightly
"I didn't know what had happened to you since then, so I'm glad to see you're alright..." her voice trails off as her eyes snap back to the discoloration
She raises a hoof slightly, gesturing to his left eye
"... Where did you get this..?"
>>90744"My eye?" he asks. Then he answers "I was born with it"
>>90745She squints, slightly, but then nods in relief.
>>90745>>90746She continues
"A couple of the other foals were a bit more difficult to retrieve.. but I've found most of them.." she says, a bit unsure of how to say it
She steps back a bit and bows her head, reflexively
"..... I... Came here to get you..." she says, a bit sheepishly
>>90748She nods
"Yes. We came here looking for you, after we heard from those low-lives that you'd been sent here." She says
>>90751She raises her chin ever so slightly
"Those brutish ponies who were cowering in that pestilent warehouse." she says indignantly
>>90753>Having so little self esteem as to put yourself on the same level as literal slave-tradersAt this, she squints once more
"..No.. The
adults in that place.." She says solwly
"I gave those ponies what they wanted.." she says, through gritted teeth ".. And for that, I was able to get the six foals that were still there without a fight.. and a clue as to where you and the others were.."
>>90754Willowbrooks butts in
"Is this how you speak to those below your socio-economic station where you come from?"
>>90755>those below your socio-economic stationThe ascetic hermit returns this comment with a sharp and serious expression, as if agast that the stallion would ever suggest such a thing, before she replies with an even more convicted tone:
".... Things like wealth, class, material possessions.. such concepts hold absolutely no weight in the virtue of one's life. Ponies find virtue in the way they live their lives, all despite differences in how fortunate they may be."
And the eye-narrowing returns
"But to ponies like that who would let themselves fall so far as to predate on defenseless ponies,
kidnap foals for mere profits, lock those foals in rusted cages im a lice-ridden abandoned factory, and
sell them off to fiends that would abuse them, all for the sake of enriching themselves... Those kinds of creatures, do indeed lead very pitiful existences."
Her eyes seem to glow slightly as she recalls what she saw
"There is no hope for the wicked." She says solenmly
>>90758"That's nice. Now get the fuck out of my office."
A hoof descends down slowly beneath the desk
>>90759She cracks her neck and stamps her own hoof (albeit, more softly) before turning and glaring quizically right back at him, eyes glowing.
"Is money more important than virtue to you?"
>>90762Now, he is angry, and starts to stand up.
"Do
you invite guests into your own home and suffer them stand there and smugly announce how morally superior they are, while constantly degrading you and lumping you in with those called 'pitiful'?"
Sorry for the delay. Some shit came up.
>>90768>>90769>>90764I'm sorry. Real life caught up with me. I'll be back in 20-30 mins.
>>90771Idk wtf I'm doing at this point. It's clear this isn't going to go through just by asking nicely, so I'll just respond however my character would see fit.>>90764>dodging the questionSister Ash remains steadfast, speaking calmly
"There is no virtue in merely insulting ponies for not living their lives the way you would see fit. All souls are free to live as they wish, for there are two sides to everything." she says
She continues
"I pity the wicked and the and depraved, who have no hope without virtue, but they are all free to live as they wish. Virtue, depravity, or even dejection; such things govern the path of creatures, but not as clearly as some would think."
She throws her mane back.
"I gave those poor creatures what they wanted. I hope they enjoy it while it lasts, because there is little hope for them on the path they've taken."
>>90772"Great, I’m glad you can preserve your sense of self righteousness and moral superiority. Now, this is the last time I will ask you nicely. Please,
get the fuck out of my office you insufferable, sanctimonious excuse for a pony of harmony”
>>90775>being this godlessSister Ash rips off her shawl and hurls it on the ground before her and stomps on it, a whisp of smoke hissing from the garment, her uncomfortably-restrained mane rushing out of its tight confines with an audible 'poof'.
"I am
not a 'harmonist', or whatever you ponies call the clergy of your local temples. I'm just a poverty worker; I came here to work for children who were left destitute by the war so that they could hope to lead peaceful lives, but I never thought I would have to deal with
pony-traffickers!" she says, almost hissing at the prospect
>>90780"For the Ninetieth time I'm not a pony trafficker and never have been, and for the third time, get out of my office"
Behind Henhill, in the back door, come the butch looking pony and the Diamond Dog. Each has a claw or hoof extended out of line of sight, and both look in towards Ash and Iron. One signals for Henhill to come in through the door
>>90781Iron makes sure to stand in front of the two incoming ponies to somewhat cover Ash's flank.
No way he's letting the first shot hit her.
>>90783"Not one step forward Mister"
He points a hoof forward
"
Out of my office you insolent pricks"
Just a moment, I'm reading a couple spell descriptions.
Brie snaps out of his trance. He addresses Kerr (I think it was)
"NEIN. Keine sexen!"
Then he gets grim-faced.
"Kinder. Fleider sie?"
>>90792Kerr moves slightly forward towards Brie - probably because his previous position had him literally backed into a corner
"Fleider sie?" he asks, as if for clarification
>>90795>>90795He nods understanding,
"Ja, Ich kann Fliegen"
He flaps his own wings, which are four dragon-fly like thin translucent blue wings. The beats are quick, and he seems to have some pain when moving one of them
>>90798"Ich bin nicht pony, ich bin die fleidermaus".
>>90802He nods
"Du wirst mich nicht verkaufen?"
