It looks like the female was indeed the leader. All he had of note was a small paper fold of mint leaves

It’s rather small, a square about the length of a cigarette wrapping paper. There is something on the paper. It’s a symbol that approximates a sun, or something with 8 rays. On top of that is some phrase is some foreign language. This creature was clearly using the paper merely to hold the mint leaves, and didn’t seem to have any interest in the paper itself except for that purpose. The mint is surprisingly fresh, has most of its water still in it, and most has not been squeezed out into the paper. The paper helps to this end by being less water absorbent than wood paper. Maybe flax paper, or something like that. Most like a candy wrap.

On the other side is a room with a couple bunks, a lantern on a bed shelf, a celled off area, a seat that looks kind of like toilet, a sink with pipes that are exposed, a couple cabinets, and closer to the entrance on the left are two large things that are probably freezers. But perhaps most interesting of all is what is on the floor and slightly behind one of the right cabinets. It picks its head up and...

Silver and Dark Star see another creature, actually a lot like the two they just encountered. Thicker neck and back near the forelegs, thinner rear. Paws, vaguely canine appearance, a brownish coat... but slightly smaller than the other two ,a bit fatter, and most different of all, vertical stripes rather than spots. He’s clearly seen the two (three) enter
