The Baltimare group proceeds in their task of investigating a strange group of creatures, mostly Griffins, who seem to be involved in creature smuggling. Up on the Boulderfield,-Whinnysota line, the northern group settles in for a cold night along with their new friends and prisoners.

Silver opens the door, exposing all of the contents of the room, and notices all of the following in approximately reverse order. The walls are a yellowish tan color, presumably the original mortar. Half of the room, to Silver’s right, has a set of cells, looks like at least three of them connected. The base of the cells are wrought iron, sometimes painted black and sometimes rusted. The bars are more often a new looking, shinier, grey-er zinc-coated steel. The floors inside the cells are darker grey, probably covered in cement or mortar. There is a pail near the center, and on the left is a table with a set of bikes, labels, and a jar or two. Even a safe.
But whatever is on the left is positively alien or horrifying. There is a large black object of hardened gossamer and silk, or whatever other organic matter. Some of this is simply strewn across the floor, some in a drained tube, but some in a large cocoon-like object. Through transparent gossamer exterior, and suspended in green-tinted translucent liquid is a pony. Maybe pony isn’t the right word. She’d be tall if she could stand, bigger than a normal pony and with slimmer built features. She has a longer horn and a longer muzzle, and a beige-cream coat that is almost white in color. Her hair is a light brown in color and floats in the liquid. Her eyes are wide open and are a bluish color. Not a healthy, natural blue, like it were the color she was born with, but a the sickly milky blue of the blind. If she is aware, it’s not reflected in movement, as she does not react in any kind of way as Silver enters.
And yet, even that scene is not the first any pony entering the room was notice. Over in a cell is a pony, a small mare. Her cells is distinguished by a red painted band overtop of it, but otherwise is indistinct as the central cells. She’s a unicorn, a milky white color coat, and a light red mane bordering on pink. Something in her pale coat looks almost like a crystal pony, and her mane is held together in braids. She has light green eyes that look right at Dark Star.
“Are you here for me?” She asks, in an accent that is present but hard to classify. She stands up and moves over with hooves that are each chained down by steel.
