>>15multiple images per post is already a thing. Just press the + on the file line to add more.
>>15No Captchpa. We'll add it when we need it. For now we're fine
>>15>Captchpa for Spam protectionNot needed at the moment. When properly set up the built in spam control takes care of bots pretty alright.
>DDos ProtectionI am not sure about this server but I know mine has DDoS protection as part of the package, also have it behind cloudflare. Maybe cloudfare would be a good choice for here to.
>Archive site like 4plebs or desuarchiveI am not sure about this one, not everything needs to be saved. But maybe a arc board for the best of the best? I mean if something really awesome goes down there is always people screen capping.
>Multiple images per postAlready in, but I plan on implementing an optional drag and drop system that will make it even easier to use.
>Visible logs on bansI will try to make this happen within the next day or 2.
>>19This is an excellent idea!
>>22Correct but Mares are.
I have to say that within just a few days this site site has become really HQ compared to the other chins
well play, admin, well played
>>29On 4chan you can directly embed videos in posts. Also, the catalog fucntion on /mlpol/ seems to be inconsistently located while on the main page, catalog, and in threads.
>>34Oh and nice ass twilight.
>>46I am still trying to work out the video embedding.
Both in the Index of a board and thread the Catalog button is right next to the Go to top and bottom buttons. Where would you like to see them?
>>48I'd like them always at the top and bottom of every page on the site. Same goes for update button. Basically just like how 4chan does it.
There was activity offsite to get to the bottom of what was going on with false flagging. Do you want me to explain it here or make a new thread? It's relevant to the /mlpol/ community as a whole.
>>52Ah, I getcha. Yeah Ill try and get that fixed up in a bit.
>>53Sounds like it would be good for a new thread.
>>55Ok i'll make it on the /qa/ board first, to clear it with the admins. It'll be up shortly.
>>29I think archive is the best method for people to stop making threads like "Hi guize I was away for few months plz spoonfeed meh", then people can go through archives and see for themselves what they missed.
I'm an 2016 newfag but I managed to teach myself most of 4chan's history and background infos with desustorage >>15ban people but make it really short bans like for a few hours. the board is so slow that being banned for a few hours won't make much difference
A bit more of a meta question than I would like; what happens if 4chan /mlpol/ comes back? What will come of this site? I'm already starting to like even more. It's a comfy barrack away from the war.
How do we get the news out to those still stuck on 4skinchan not knowing about this site without mlpol.net getting put on their url ban list?
>>29Ok, im just spooked about that "destruction of a group" comic
Where the woman doesn't care about thr hobby, but the attention she gets for being a woman in the ingroup
Like recently a female joined the discord and quickly decided to hop on vc. No content added to the discord, no discussion, just "im a girl come listen to my voice"
>>79Even if they make a dedicated board over there, it'll still be a shitty place. The mods will continue to be assholes. The owner will still be a greedy idiot. It'll still be a contaminant board. It's like wanting to live in a ghetto. The only positive is traffic and we could just redirect from a dedicated board.
>>22i don't mind females as long as they don't come here looking for attention like r9k
I would like to see a /b/ and a /vint/ board on this site. /b/ and /v/ have always been huge parts of chan culture.
>>308I don't think we're big enough for dedicated boards, how about dedicated threads instead?
>>29Definitely in the camp of selective archiving here for historical purposes.
In the cases of OPs & the like, screens those wishing to participate can post when/if necessary (& then even delete after; I'm a paranoid fuck) would be much better.
This site catches on or garners any media interest & there's an archive of 'greatest hits' in that regard, going to paint a nice target.
Some that could be better is the catalog.
The scroll bar is ugly and the text reaching down towards the thread below isn't that beautiful either.
Another things is legal protection for the owner.
I don't know much about the law but maybe you should put a disclaimer somewhere that you are not resposible for any of the posts and its 18+ or something.
Third thing is an advice.
If you get more janitors/mods maybe you should save the threads deleted somewhere so you can see if somebody uses his rights to harm the comunity.
If someone is deleting a lot of threads you'd be able to see it.
Maybe add this to css (for colored ids):
.poster_id {
border-radius: 10px;
padding: 0px 5px;
}
I have it in custom css, but IMO it's generally nicer.
Also code tags, in case they don't work.
I would like to see a write fag board for greentext stories and civilization threads.
It would be nice to have a reply/images/page counter on the top aswell.
And a reply button on the bottom too.
Being as the board's a bit slow a times; it'd be nice to have the ability to edit your post. I feel like an ass reading through a thread & replying to multiple people separately, & it comes out as several comments in a row from just me; or having to keep a reply window open reading the whole thread/running text file to make it all show up as one comment.
I realize it opens the door to people changing what they'd written after being called out on something; so it'd only really work if there was something akin to an(Edited)"button" that'd get added to the comment when you did that, that shows the history of edit(s) made & what the comment was before the change (potentially something akin to the image expansion from hovering over it?) Not a coder or anything, so no idea how much of a pain in the ass or any of that would be to pull off, if even possible, though.
>>391I too want to see a greentext board, I like writefags, I'm trying to convince the other staff this would be a good idea
>>394>>398I'll take these under advisement and ask pineapple about it
>>406im here, sup?
>>391Do you mean games of Civilization being played?
So I've been testing out cross board linking, and can't seem to get it working. >>>/mlpol/0000 doesn't work. Is there a different way of doing it on this site?
>>409Back in the earlier days of /pol/ we occasionally had writefags do CYOA civilization threads on /pol/.
>>454That certainly sounds fun. I remember something that sounds vaguely similar from /mlp/. Didn't pan out though, they're more interested in story than politics over there.
>>418Seems to work fine on the test board
>>>/mlpol/7041 → lets see here.
>>394So both at the bottom and top? Than can be done.
>>398I have no idea how I would be able to implement something like that. But cool idea.
>>457I guess I'm doing it wrong?
>>457Ok I just tested again and this time made sure to reference a post that I made myself so i know it exists.
It worked!
Perhaps I just got really unlucky 3 times and linked deleted posts...?
The remote image url uploader is convenient, but it only allows for one image to be uploaded per post.
I remember mentioning somw sort of counter that measures posts per, etc..., like they do in wizchan. Is it ever going to be implemented?
>>2626A statistics view, measuring posts per hour and per day, with the previous week as a point of reference, and measurements of the posts per board, has been in place for about 8 weeks now as a feature of the moderator-dashboard. A search of the chat-log shows that at the time it was created, when asked why the feature was not made public, the developer responded "no need for it to be public at the moment. It needs to at least work first."
>>2629how do we as users take a look at these statistics? If we cant, I would like to request access to them for the public.
>>2684Making statistics public was discussed among staff, and the Lead Developef agreed to make a form of post counter that would display publicly
