Set six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where the Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures because of their encounters with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.
The long train ride from Baltimare to Bales has been interrupted by a group of partisan fighters, claiming to be looking for none other than Pinkie Pie, who has been kept prisoner since the end of the war. They don't seem to have found their prize, but they do seem to have found a very pissed off Brie, Onyx, and Spark, as well as another Bat Pony, and both groups have been interrupted by a new set of intruders. In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, and Iron await a new and uncertain dawn.

>>100024Silver has to experience first-hoof how personally embarrassing it is to leave a store empty-hooved after having found something you like. He trots back out to his cart, taking note of the name of the tailor so he can return after he gets payed.
Well, onto his next stop: the 2 Strong 4 You potions shop he had visited yesterday, or else some other potions shop closer to his current position.
>>100030Poor Silver. Literally poor."Old Silver horn, you've come again
I feared those ghasts had done you in."
\r
>>100031F, or the poverty equivalent.Silver taps the bandages around his neck with a smile. "Damn near did. But I have lived on this planet for 68 years; I will be damned before I let it take me now." With a sigh, he places 100 Bits onto the counter. He silently wonders to himself if he told this zebra his name, or if he's just referring to his coat and mane colors. "More of same as last time: two Potions of Hide From Undead."
>>100032“Oh, so you are going back for more?
that’s the kind of courage the mares sure adore.
I shall provide your magical potion
Soon enough , your plan’ll be in motion”
>>100033"What can I say? I do not know when to give up." He takes the potions, once they've been procured by the zebra for him. "If this keeps up for much longer, I will end up very poor, and you will end up very rich." With a final salute, he bids the zebra alchemist a good day, and with his list (mostly) filled out and his cart once again hooked up, Silver makes for the catacombs, hopefully to finish this job once and for all.
>>100034And thus she hooves over the one or two containers of red liquid, and says
“Any time there are zombies you must purge
Just come to our shop, should you feel the urge.”
>>100035"You certainly are first that comes to mind when I think of potions. Have good day." As stated before, Silver gives her a salute before heading out to the catacombs, finally prepared for what is hopefully his last day of excursions into the catacombs for a while.
>>100041>>100042If my person reading is on point, he's hinting there
is loot to be found.
>>100050I'm bored, so here's some more eeee.
So... who actually wants to play?
>>100052If you're up for it, sure.
>>100053Sure
As they come closer, Iron can see the outline of a structure. It’s made out of large black stones, or possibly even carved out of a rocky outcrop. The design is extremely simple - rectangular, low, but still monolithic
Pear - “That’s it.”
>>100054Iron nods.
He remain ever so vigilant for any sort of guards, trying his best to use the foilage available to his advantage.
>>100052I know you're disappointed, but I mean, I
am here...
>>100057As Iron nears, it looks like there is a clearing before the temple - assuming this is indeed a temple, and not a rock formation, although the top looks a little too flat, and the sides and corners too square for that. The temple is to the right, and to the left is one tent. There do indeed appear to be a trio of ponies by it, two standing and looking at the third, whose head is propped up on a crate as he lay on his back.
>>100059Focusing on the tent on the left, he tries to get closer to it as far as the foilage lets him in order to get a better look of their equipment.
>>100060Guns, for sure, though only one is immediately holding his. At least one of them has on shinning apparel
>>100061Iron measures the distance required for a hoof attack.
He then looks to Pear.
"Where are we exactly?"
>>100062“This is an entrance to the structure. That tent there is one of the ones we erected.”
>>100063"So that tent is one entrace to the temple?"
>>100042The purpose originally was to be cash reward upon clearing the catacombs from the original quest giver. No one seems to want to do that. And no one looked to requisition special weapons or explosives for the task, just... I know this is my fault, but goddamn does it damped my enthusiasm>>100064“No, the entrance is the hole in the black structure over there on the left. The tent is tent.”
>>100065To be completely fair, rolling to confirm attack as well as to hit to hit a 21 DC monster will definitely spook the newbies.Iron nods, confirming the entrance to the temple seems to be only guarded by the ponies at the tent.
He looks over to Cauldron.
"Do you think you can disarm these ponies as well?"
>>100067“When they are holding the weapons, it is more difficult. Even when they are inattentive.”
>>100068Iron ponders for a bit, trying to tell if he can rush them and beat them all up in a jiffy
through great cleave and a charge. >>100069Hmmm... maybe in a full round?
The tent is closest to brush behind it
>>100071Okay, so Brie can start the next day.
We can skip police storming the train in Canterlot in the interest of time and pacing >>100072Sure
Brie totally didn't fall asleep in the cabin with the Lings btw,....
>>100070Hm.Iron, knowing he's pretty beat up still, decides to try and get ponies to come even closer than they already are from him.
He looks towards his teamates, walking towards any available stick.
"Spread out. I am luring these ponies here."
>>10007 →So in the aftermath of the train being hijacked and lots of ponies getting murdered, and stabbing a bat-pony who was actually a good (ish) guy,...
Nothing happened?
>>100075Just ask the Blackhooves to put the Submachine gun in working order telling them you need it for the mission, Ash for explosives for the same purpose, or alternatively, buy sone fertilizer and sone diesel to make home-made ANFO bombs, plant explosives around the catacombs while using the hide from undead, then get a big set of speakers and start blasting “The Trooper” by Iron Maiden like they do in World War Z (the novel), dramatically cock the submachine gun, light the fuse, and blast away at the undead hordes. Well, use a Phonigraph that plays Kalinka loudly, but you get the idea>>100073Always stay awake, so it’s harder for them to eat you.
>>100074He’s in a forest. There are sticks everywhere
>>100079No comment? Well ok.Iron picks up a stick, gets as close to the edge of the foilage near the guards as possible, and snaps it to cause noise that would hopefully lure them closer.
>>100078Well, obviously police would come investigate when the train arrives in Canterlot, and at least the RPO would be switched out. Probably most passengers would be allowed to continue, although on a delayed schedule.
>>100080Roll Die
>>100083The breaking of the twig sounds almost like the crack of a rifle, it’s as loud as one too. The three ponies look over.
>>100081Then maybe he’s safe to go to sleep around them
>>100082I'm a little thrown off (not entirely because) since we're jumping ahead. So we're on our way again. The Lings have seen the train so far, Brie got to kill some shit,... good times. Brie isn't exactly incentivized to leave the cabin, for the time being, especially since he absconded with firearms from the invaders (I'm sure the police would ask about those).
>>100086Seeing how he got the ponies' attention, he awaits to see if they come over to investigate the twig's rifle-like sound.
Should sound noteworthy when it sounds so clsoe to their proximity. >>100087So normally my commitment to realism would have Brie be questioned by Police on arrival in Canterlot
Brie dropped his disguise in front of witnesses. We could skip that if you really want to get to the border crossing.
Of course, this scene could change a lot>>100088They pick up their rifles, and look over
“Que es eso?”
“¿Crees que puede haber sido un gato grande?”
“¿Como un puma?”
“¿Qué diablos es un puma?”
>>100089So they think Iron's a panther from sound alone it seems.Iron, deciding to try to imitate what a panther would do, picks up another branch.
He places the tip of it on a tree and scratches the wood hard to pretend to be it sharpening its claws.
>>100089I'd gather the police would have more than questions, but if you're giving me the chance to skip that, I'm not going to object
[1d2 = 2]>>100085Silver: The character can’t go to sleep and dream in a locked room in broad daylight!Changelings will abduct him!
Me: If Changelings we’re going to try to abduct a party member, they’d take the form of a sloot in a bar laying a trap, and they’d do it at night.
Also Silver, a little later: hey look! Silver is sleeping on Skies’ lap in a bar. Also I’m pretty sure she’s feeding off of him.
>>100090They continue looking over, vigilant
Cauldron, whispering
“Am I supposed to sneak up behind them and knock them out, or something?
>>100091 >>100092Iron, feeling like they're not dumb enough to actually come to what they think it could be a panther, simply nods.
The tip of the branch is scratching the bark off of that tree with a calm, concise flow of a long vertical slice.
>>100091The dice say Brie must be interrogated
>>100095They are now distracted by a different sound
>>100096Actually,
Brie is awakened to a large mass on his chest, pinning him down, and a loud Katydid noise
[1d20+5 = 22]>>100096Dangit.Iron, knowing that the panther routine will probably not work when they heard something somewhere else, decides to throw a rock as fast and hard as possible to possibly tear a hole straight through it in order to cause even more ruckus towards his side.
[1d20 = 3]>>100099That’s... really loud.
Well, they are spooked in Iron’s direction alright
>>100098Didn't I just say he didn't fall asleep?
[1d20+5 = 24]>>100102I'll beat you to it.Iron, having lost the guards' attention again, picks another rock and chucks it at the side of the tent again for another loud noise.
>>100104Okay, that’s definitely noticed. So much so they probably think they are under attack
Roll die for luck
>>100103I figured the “totally” meant that anything that followed in the sentence was ironic.
Anyways, Brie would have seen the sun rise as the train increases in elevation up the side of a mountain, overlooking a long valley, forest and farms, and eventually slowing down as it enters a town of black roofs and stone buildings, then enters a beige station with a number of police in both black and blue along the red-lined platforms. Police would have knocked on Brie’s door and answered it themselves. Police would have had surprisingly few questions for Brie besides what his motive was for doing what he did (like if he knew the officer was an officer, why he attacked the rebels, what exactly happened in the RPO, what he was doing in the RPO, why he was on the train, and so forth). At some point, they shine a bright light in Brie’s eyes.
>>100105Well, if he doesn’t fall asleep, forget that
[1d20 = 14]>>100106DICE GODS, SAVE ME FROM THY FOES!
>>100106It was ironic, it was a joke about how I fell asleep during the MLP stream.
>>100107They shoot into the forest sort of in Iron’s direction. They shoot blindly and do not hit him.
>>100108Oh
>>100109Nice.Iron lays low. He keeps an eye out for any brave ponies that could try to close in on his position, ready to ambush anyone that does.
>>100113And... Cauldron loses initiative to the two bandits
[10d20 = 62][10d20 = 143][2d6 = 9]>>100115>>100115Cauldron is shot, but she pulls up her submachine gun, and shoots back at them
[1d20+8 = 27]>>100113>>100114>>100115>>100116Hey, wait up!Iron, seeing the battle Cauldron is in, rushes from within the foilage to try and help out in this dire predicament.
He charges at the nearest guard, going for a swift buck to the head for maximum damage.
If I can actually charge them. >>100117A lucky thing too, as while one of the bandits is shot to pieces, the other is barely hit
>>100119No, he is not. That scene is not happening
