Now that she is no longer above water, Rosey Ring looks less like a corpse and more like a cruel angel.
Rosey Ring appears as a youthful mare with soft and elegant features. Her coat is a pristine snow white, and exceptionally fluffy. Her mane is a sanguine red-pink, and is soft, fine and silky, almost glowing with its vibrant. Her mane is exceptionally long, and usually done up in a braid or a war bun. Her body is slender and dainty, with generous feminine endowments. She has a calm and professional demeanor, and she comes off as mature, despite her apparent youth. When she moves, she seems to glide over the ground, with grace that seems almost supernatural. The spring in her step betrays a deceptively strong body. She trots with a regal confidence, puffing her fluffy chest out and holding her head high, and making eye contact with anyone within eyesight. She always seems alert and engaged, her ears swiveling like tiny satellite dishes. Overall, she is strikingly beautiful. She seems to radiate youth and vitality, but something about her supernatural appearance is... Unsettling. She seems almost more like an exquisite painting of a mare than a living thing, almost uncanny in her beauty.
Rosey Ring's eyes are like pools of gold, with radial concentric rings. They glow with authority and give off a mesmerizing aura that demands submission. Staring into them too long gives feelings of unease and terror, but their commanding presence makes it difficult for any unfortunate souls who've caught her attention to look away.
Posey's Cutie Mark is a dark sun surrounded by a red flare. It also resemble a buboe from the black plague. It fills out her soft and rotund flank very well.
When dressed for war, Rosey Ring looks like something from another era. She wears archaic chain shirt barding, adorned with the bones and teeth of various monsters. Throwing needles hold her hair into a tactical bun, and she affixes a blade to the end of her braid. An elegant longsword lays at her flank, alongside a longbow and quiver. She brandishes an archaic polearm that crackles with electricity. Spines bracers are fastened to her hooves. It's clear from her fashion that she is a warrior.
She puts on a pirate bandana, and affixes a dead canary (I was going to use this later, but fuck it) to her should, and gives a pirate-like scowl.
>>179677Survival: Kira uses her keen survival senses, combined with her actual senses, to discern what creatures and wildlife call this island home, through clues left behind by wildlife such as feathers or droppings, her flicking her tongue to pick up scents in the air, and the knowledge she's already picked up on the geography and history of the island.

The roll itself is revealed to be a well crafted, of not rugged looking, suit of splint-mail with an accompanying overcloak that looks as if it was originally designed to block sun and sand. Hopefully, it can prove to block rain and cold for this mission.
Sitting inside the unrolled roll are two weapons. A heavy flail, slightly ornate with tribal markings and highlights of bone and gold and a single roughly cut gem at the bottom of the handle. Next to it is a humble sling and saddlebag. Dust spends a moment to situate himself into his armor. Once settled, he checks his saddlebag, with anypony close enough to see noticing an assortment of some colored stones and small vials inside, befoee throwing it on. He drapes his sling over his neck, like a stole, before picking up his flail and waiting on the others.

>>179631I am replying late but please know that no matter what happens, someone out there loves you and wants you to keep fighting. Never lose hope. Be prepared but don't give up; think of how Jim (Mister Metokur) has an unknown disease putting him in extreme agony, with many of his audience assuming at times he had died, and how he keeps coming back to bring joy to his viewers.I know you're probably sick of people going "I'm sorry," but if we had known about this situation I'm sure things would have been more accommodating. Like DM mentioned, there's a tacit assumption that the campaign and its world will just keep going indefinitely, though that runs into the risk of author (in this case player) existence failure. With the direction the world is going, and our youth giving way to a stronger understanding of our mortality, I agree that the campaign should be at least a little bit faster than its overall average. It's very hard to build up progression when the average in-game day takes more than an irl month, with eating, working, traveling, socializing, trysts, not to mention long dream sequences, all being extremely detailed. I personally have enjoyed the casual pace, but I do agree it needs to pick up and some things will have to be compromised.I should give my two cents regarding Posey's place within the campaign, but don't assume my opinion is worth any more than that. There are two extremes players have taken regarding their characters' roles in the campaign. (You), Posey's player, occupy one extreme, where Posey is the single plot driver that makes things happen, has goals she subordinates the world toward and who is designed to be powerful. My character Amber is on the complete opposite end. I saw the world the DM came up with and wanted to create a character that typified an everymare, even one with many disadvantages. She is experiencing the multiple tumultuous trends society is undergoing in this society: she is forced to give up farming for urban life to sustain herself, she is forced to either overwork herself or sacrifice her innocence in order to have mere subsistence, she is deracinated from community and is trying to find it again, she is experiencing all the positives and negatives of the dissolution of social life, she has to navigate all the pitfalls of love, etc. My philosophy when playing Amber is to "go with the flow" and have her react realistically toward changing surroundings rather than trying to change the surroundings herself.
She is definitely overleveled for such a passive archetype (despite having a low perform skill and a glut of skill points in less useful skills), and she'll soon be properly ready for real adventure but I am quite happy with her story and I think others are too. All the other PCs are somewhere in the middle; they aren't quite as passive as Amber is and their choices have had far-reaching effects on the city of Baltimare, but neither are they gearing towards becoming an all-dominating physical goddess like Posey. (You) brought up E6 and other low-level campaign house rules, and how it would be incompatible with Posey's concept, and that was a perfect point. I cannot speak for the DM, but if he created the campaign today with his current vision, it probably would have that sort of level cap with PCs starting at level 1 or at most level 3. As it is, all PCs have started at level 5 (a typical start for a fantasy adventure) but leveling too far past that would lose the campaign's groundedness and would induce power creep, which he explicitly wanted to avoid. He simply arbitrarily froze leveling and we all would be level 5 even now if you hadn't repeatedly insisted on progression. I'm grateful that you kept leveling from being delayed forever.Given the DM's liking towards dialectics, maybe he can figure out a solution to this. I rambled on for a bit but to tell you the truth I don't think that Posey in her current state fits conventional DnD party dynamics, not because of evil goals but because she overpowers every specialized class despite being a generalist at technically level 3. Her design is incredible and most players here are in awe of the in-depth knowledge needed to create her, but she breaks the party system. She's not the first character to do this, since I veto'd Amber's involvement in this quest as she'd realistically be useless with no combat experience. A solution for Posey would be to have her own faster-paced and higher-stakes quests, just as Amber's activities are slower-paced with "boring" (but not for me) conversations, with occasional interactions with the main party in either a cooperative or adversarial role. The main downside is that it splits the DM's attention and slows down the campaign overall.>>179641Awwww…but, maybe? Who knows what the future holds?

"You need to stand still!"[1d20 = 5] Alright, who is here?
The scene is on the rocky beach 30 feet wide in front of the cliff. An intruder was noticed trotting along the beach approaching from the left.

>>179759If Brie's intent is to hide, his best bet is probably the top of the sea stack. The sea stack is basically a giant column of rock that protrudes outwards from the ocean just a few feet beyond the beach. It's located to the left of the party and actually closer to where the intruder is coming from. Brie could sit atop it. He could also just hide on top of the cliff, but because it angles upwards, he could be visible. He could also just hide behind Silver, Mala, Posey, or whomever

>>179772I really don't have time to read every rant by everyone. It's hard to deal with this many players and IRL matters.
>>179775Unless you're using a spell to boost that number - No. She's not doing 24 damage on a single 6 dice roll without there being something special going on.

Defiant may rap at will.
>>179814Can we iron out out differences before I have to wonder what you mean by comments? "Nice roll" seems innocuous, but c'mon, lets not pretend this is our first rodeo
>>179816Oh we're rolling?
[1d20 = 10]Also don't think of it as rapping, it's more of religious slam poetry
>>179812Silver has 18 dexterity?
>>179814And Posey has 20 temp dexterity score from where? (referencing your character sheet)
>>179817I thought it was a compliment.
>>179819It prolly was, I'm hypersensitive
>>179816Brie, from his elevation would engage in reinforcing his spot check, looking for added complications
[1d20+8 = (10+8) = 18] Okay, Defiant goes last, but he can rap at will
>>179821Brie isn’t exactly comfortable with the way the rocks move on the beach side.
>>179817It is not an insult.
>>179814>duel of willsI don’t know what that is, but your character already has more special everything than the rest of the party combined and she doesn’t need to take
everything from them
>>179824Can any perception checks occur before action? Im ready to act, but if I can do some checks
>>179830lame, bries turn is ended
>>179819Eeyup, as I said he's a very dexterous and flexible pony.
>>179824Grapple: If Brie's turn is finished, Kira slithers over to the mystery pony/creature and attempts to restrain him, to prevent further conflict.
First, Kira attempts to get her coils around him as he's prone on the ground (touch attack).
[1d20+9 = (8+9) = 17] >>179832Brie takes studious notes
>>179830Actually, now it seems all is calm. There’s certainly nothing there. It just looked like some rocks were moving, eight might have been moved by the jogger. This is further down the beach.
>>179832Opppsed
[1d20+2 = (2+2) = 4] >>179832Kira has the pony grappled.
It seems to attempt to draw its revolver.
>>179838Oh, that would require an opposed grapple check, right? Kira, pulling the pony into her coils, attempts to keep him from drawing his gun.
[1d20+13 = (18+13) = 31] >>179837Aside from the ponies wrestling with the rando, sure
Okay, so Garv moves before Posey. Garv, take your turn.
>>179832>>179841Also Cavaliere attempts a disarm, if he can access the pony.
[1d20+4 = (11+4) = 15] >>179856>>179857Garv grabs at it, but does not succeed it pulling it out.
The pony fires a shot
[1d20+3 = (8+3) = 11] >>179858tilts headDid the pony have the revolver already drawn before being grappled? I'm reading here that you need to succeed on an opposed grapple check to draw a light weapon...
>>179858AC is 15, it misses anyway
BANGThe pony is in Kira’s coils, but has pulled out his revolver, and after Garv attempted to take it, fired a shot, which as missed Garv
>>179858Which presumably Garv is able to jump out of the way of.
>>179859Let me look into it when I’m back from lunch
>>179861Okay, have a delicious lunch!
>>179861>bangBrie is on extra observational support, rerolling spot and listen
[1d20+8 = (10+8) = 18] spot
[1d20+10 = (15+10) = 25] listen (and thats without his assumed racial +2 to listen, as a bat)
>>179861"I can kill him, right? Nopony would know if I killed him. He attacked us: you reap what you sow. I could snuff him out
right now!"
The veneer of civilization begins to crack as Rosey Ring smells blood, her eyes glowing as if hot coals.
Nevertheless, she awaits approval to kill.
>>179863Ostensibly, in that brie isn;t engaged in any form of contact or distraction, would have first move, yes?
*then lets wait for a quorum of players*
>>179864If you'll pardon me for saying.
No. STFU. You're here until we as a group decide to carry on. This is our game, not your game. Cry, period.
>>179865>You're here until we as a group decide to carry on.That's literally the only reason I haven't attacked yet. I asked in-character for approval to kill, for anyone around to respond.
Quit being so hostile.
>>179866You think thats a badge of honor???
> I asked in-character for approval to kill, for anyone around to respond.Quit being so hostile.
My excuse was my character was getting coopeted. Explain your increasingly evident animus

And....
>>179864Cavaliere is too focused on disarming the stallion to offer a rejoinder.
>>179863>without itJust add it for a +12
>>179865>>179867Stop being this way. It was Posey's turn, from the chain of initiative
>>179859I think that that line in the rules refers to someone who is doing the grappling, rather than the one being grappled. I assume the implication is that someone who is grappled can’t pull a light weapon at all. All you need to not be grappled is to succeed on a grapple check; succeeding kn a grapple check as a precondition to pull a light weapon doesn’t make much sense to me.
In any case, the pony pulling a revolver is more dramatic, although it would also make sense if, depending on where the revolver is located, he couldn’t reach it while being attacked by a constructor snake.
>>179863Brie hears the sound of a gunshot, the seaplane’s engines revving up as it flies away, the sound of waves crashing, and what sounds like a metal door swinging further down the beach on the left. He sees nothing of interest besides the obvious.
>>179865>>179867Literally Posey is asking for permission. I do not understand the issue.
>>179872Speaking is a free action, and you can do it during anyone's turn.
>>179875So, ur a team player, play to the team
Is anyone going to respond in character before the Death-worshipping madmare takes her turn?
I won't kill him if you guys want him alive.
>>179876Then respond in-character, faggot.
>>179874Reading from the SRD, it seems like the actions apply to both characters involved in the grapple, regardless of who started it. It seems like you have the option of either attempting to break free of the grapple, which ends your turn, or you can attempt to make a grapple check to draw a light weapon and have the option of attacking with it while grappled during that turn.
I will admit though, him drawing the weapon is more dramatic.
>>179877Silver: "Let us not kill him just yet until we know what we are dealing with."
>>179877>Then respond in-character, faggot. The last Vestige of a failing anon
Mala moves in, evidently position himself to stab the pony with his bayonet.
>>179876>>179879I am genuinely baffled as to what the issue is. It’s Posey’s turn. Posey uses the free action of talking to ask permission to stab the now-hostile pony before making a move or attack action. I sincerely do not understand the problem.
>>179880I dont want to make an issue, wrt dereliction
>>179824Reeeeeeee, it's not rapping!
>>179865I see you're insistant on causing another Eberron situation. Let's hope this one ends differently>>179864"Do not kill him yet
A cure I could still beset
For if slip in to death, him we let
I cannot repays death's debt"
>>179878>>179882"B-b-but..! I was so close..!" Posey responds, the frantic desperation clear in her voice
"Aaaagh! Fine!" she snarls, dropping her weapon
Posey turns and makes two unarmed strikes with her hind legs, dealing only subdual damage
[1d20+6 = (18+6) = 24][1d20+6 = (3+6) = 9]This mod might be fucked up, but idk
Also a slam attack (hip check) at a -4 penalty to do only subdual damage
[1d20-1 = (6-1) = 5] Lets play in role. Cmon, kill me ^_~
Posey sits down on the ground and pouts, biting her lower lip slightly.
Posey's turn is over.
Oh! I think that's me.
Dust approaches the held pony, and attempts to diagnose him for any medical issues he can while said pony is being held in a giant snej. Rolling heal.
[1d20+13 = (17+13) = 30]
Can the snej be used as a blood pressure cuff?
>>179888The snej can, she just needs to be directed.
>>179888I'm going to assist this with a (free action) Arcana check, to discern any potential magical influence.
[1d20+11 = (2+11) = 13] Mala tries to bludgeon it with his shotgun
[1d20+8 = (7+8) = 15]>>179888The pony has been:
Stabbed pretty brutally. This is actually a serious medical issue requiring attention.
It’s been kicked
It’s also been attacked by a giant snake.
Besides this, it’s suffering from delirium, it’s shivering for reasons unknown, and may have other issues.
>>179890Possible enchantment. Hard to say.
The Pony slumps over, evidently unconscious. It drops the revolver. It’s still in Kira’s grasp.
>>179895Dust really wishes ponies and creatures alike would stop hitting his patient.
>>179898Dust heaves a big sigh
"If you were going to kill him anyway
Could you at least wait until I was out of the way?"
Heal check to at least stabilize the pony so he does not die while they deside what to do
[1d20+13 = (18+13) = 31] "Not only can we not interrogate him for information, but the gunshot means our position may be revealed. Once you are finished, doctor, we will need to hurry out of here."
He takes 10 with a +4 modifier to tie up the stallion with a length of rope, and gags him as well.
>>179895>>179899Kira is also shivering, but that's from being so close to gunfire rather than from the temperature. Can either Silver or Kira tell if there's anything medically wrong with the pony? Is he suffering from hypothermia?
>>179900"I can't carry him up the cliff on my disc if I'm carrying the rest."
Mala, who is leaning over towards the intruder pony, still holding his shotgun, has his eyes wide open and is smiling. But when Dust complains to him, he frowns, moves away, lowers his ears, and steps back, letting his shotgun fall onto his sling.
>>179899The pony has a combination of bludgeoning and stabbing damage. The most serious issue is the stab wound, which is bleeding. Give the pony stitches, cover the wound to stop the bleeding, disinfect the wound, and give painkillers if desired/necessary.
>>179901He is acting like he is. It isn’t cold enough for that, except in the water. His hooves and lower legs show signs of water, but his uniform doesn’t feel wet.
>>179903Don't need painkillers if you're unconscious. Oh well, to late to fix anything. Dust sighs and pats the yeen's shoulder before plodding a little ways away.
End o' my turn.
>>179903"We need to get moving. Feed him to the sharks. Or don't. It hardly matters."
>>179900"I can climb this cliff, but I might slip without a rope. Can you fly up there and secure a rope?"
For a moment, the fog starts to clear. Above the ponies crests a grassy hill. To the left from where the pony came is a small bay and what looks like a few structures. To the right is the end of the island, and another smaller, cliff-faced island.
>>179904>That namescrunch>>179903Kira knows she has limited resources...but she can't just leave this pony like this. She mutters a prayer in a language the rest of the party can't understand, then presses her hoof to the pony's snoot. A golden light and warmth spreads down the pony's body, starting from his nose.
Silver goes over to comfort Mala, giving him pets and telling him, "You did good, my friend. You did really good."
>>179905Are u ready for what u asked for?
>>179908The rope? Yes. Secure the rope please.
>>179908Im kidding, we're stopped
>>179905Combat's over so I guess initiative doesn't matter.
"That's the plan. This rope should be enough to reach the base of the cliff."He runs to the edge of the water and jumps to take off. Not a particularly competent flier and bearing some weight, he makes a long, wide turn before he climbs at a shallow angle to the top of the cliff.
>>179910Rest, youll have ur moment
>>179906Wait, so we don't need to climb over the cliff?
Let's take a moment to strategize which way we want to go.
>>179914The heck are you talking about?
Srsly. Try to be an adult about it
Every player grts a turn
Cry
Every player grts a.turn
Nigger....
>>179917Your lack of comprehension is noted. I dont drink on gamedays. Whats ur excuse?
>>179906I'm glad you noticed!
Dust looks at the grass and thinks that it looks rather tasty. He might have to sample it while they wait to figure out how to get over the cliff.
>>179918What are you talking about. What are all these ooc spamposts about?
>>179919A very based username! Also, same.
>>179906Silver also takes the time to check the pony's uniform to see if he has any ID on him.
>>179920He seems to be insistent that initiative carries out of combat, and thus is gonna make us wait until he takes a turn before he lets you specifically do anything else without complaining.
I'm just going to filter Brie's player, because he's having a hissy fit and I don't have the energy to deal with him right now. If he does anything relevant to my character, someone else let me know.
That aside.
What direction do we want to go in? Do we climb the cliff, go in the direction the pony came from, or over the grassy hill?
We could use some healing magic to revive and interrogate this pony, but that has a resource cost.
I'm any case, we should move quickly, because our presence has been revealed by the gunshot.
We now know that we are not alone on this island. There could be more pony enemies.
>>179915The players have four options:
Walk along the beach towards the small bay
Walk along the beach towards the edge of the wall
Go straight up the cliff and to the hill
Get on the rafts and go onto the water
But no. They don't have to scale a cliff. They can literally just walk around it. The same as that pony just did.
>>179918>>179916>>179914I have no idea what your issue is, but it's becoming disruptive.
Stop it>>179919Scrunch>>179912The island is rolling grass hills. He can see some little stone walls off in the distance, and the steel hulls of what looks like some kind of shanty down the beach in a small bay. Other than that, nothing jumps out at Cavaliere during this brief clearing of the fog
>>179907Mala is pet, and smiles
>>179922Морской камень of the Stalliongradian Merchant Marine
There is a note and more on him
>>179923He had a turn. He took a spot check and then decided not to do anything.
>i dindu nuffon, its this ssshole, who Ive harangud with all kinds of thibgs
>>179925Dust would like to go munch on some grass, he hasn't had lunch yet. The real question is is there anything on the hill?
Rolling spot to see if there's anything suspicious as he slowly plods to the grass at the edge of the beach in the direction of the hill.
[1d20+4 = (14+4) = 18] >>179925>Морской каменьSilver: "Sea Stone, huh..." Silver takes the ID and note. "It looks like we can get around this cliff if we go in direction he came from. Tie him up to Kira's back and let us get out of here, then we can work on waking him up and getting answers. If you are okay with that, Kira."
Kira: "Oh, uh, sure! I'm pretty strong, I can carry him."
Silver: "Good, let us do that and get move on."
Brie is aboutto self destruct
>>179925>They can literally just walk around it. The same as that pony just did.If we go in that direction, we might meet the pony's allies.
Stealthy characters should scout that direction before we decide to go there.
"Which direction should we go? We shouldn't stay here. We need to locate the Marines."
She looks at the unconscious pony
"Enemies already occupy this island. It's possible that our colts may already be detained, or worse. We should locate the rest of this pony's comrades."
Posey also pets Mala
Realizes he should probably have stuck around longer before flying away.
He attempts to locate a decent spot for the other creatures to climb up, one which is shallower and not too jagged yet offers holds. He takes 10 to drive his grappling hook into the spot and tie the rope to it before letting it down. Brie should be keeping watch during this.
>>179931Look for any signs of electric lights that the communists might be using in the fog. We need to locate the enemy.
It might be suitable to climb the cliff anyway: we want high ground advantage.
>>179928Posey agrees with Silver
"Sure, but we should be careful. There might be more where he came from. Stay on guard." She says
"Perhaps somepony should scout ahead."
Are we still playing, or is GM busy watching 4CC?
We're still playing
Mala tries to pick pocket the pony. Mala is also pet by Posey, and I believe by Defiant Dust
>>179935Are we playing? How many players?
>>179935Posey uses her horn and unseen servant to help Mala loot the horse.
Do we know what direction we're moving in yet?
>>179929Don't you mean.... A-bat-to? Haha
Please kill me.
>>179935Correct, Dust did pet Mala. He's also hankerin' for some grass
>>179938Good form, well memed. Op could learn.
