>>162307"If you have a plan for getting inside, getting our baggage, and getting out unseen while carrying it, I'm all ears. Otherwise, your most precious possession is your life."
>>162308“Your viol is there.” He says
Federkleid adds
“And any clothes.”
>>162309What a tough decision…everything else can be dispensed with, and discretion says to just run for one's life, but those instruments cannot be easily parted with. Amber turns around.
"Have you got a plan to get in, and more importantly, get out?"
>>162310There are… things… about that viol that make it if particular concern. Things that Amber rather not stitch into coherent thoughts. Things that make that make parting with that particular viol particularly unpalatable.
Helder:
“Well, not really.”
Federkleid:
“Would you want to wear that all the way to border?”
>>162311"The sooner we get back there, the better, before the entire train is emptied and searched."
Amber curses the hasty decision she made in rushing out with the crowd, losing valuable minutes.
>>162312They go back towards the train station, which is starting to be cleared
>>162313Amber tries to push through the crowd to find a way inside that's hidden.
>>162314There are multiple potential ways to the platform, including three doors on the one side, at least one on the opposite side, and of course the entries and exits of the trains.
>>162315Amber takes one of the doors.
>>162316Looking inside, she sees that the platform with the train now has several police and medical personnel responding. The train platforms are not completely cleared of civilians, however, as a platform across from it has a number of griffins on it. Either they came back, or came in only after the gunshots.
>>162317Best then to head to the platform with the onlookers and mingle among them, looking for the luggage car.
>>162318There are indeed several griffins roaming about that train, with coach cars of green livery, on the platform opposite Amber's former train. The luggage car is further down on the train, and Amber may have to cross the tracks to get to it in the shortest, police-free distance.
>>162319Looking both ways to ensure she won't get squished, she hurries across the tracks and between the two trains down to the luggage car.
There ARE two trains, right? >>162320The platforms are several feet higher than the rail. It's not impossible, but the height differential makes it difficult to do quickly.
Roll die
>>162322Let's redo the section. I don't like how the layout of the platforms was not describedThe station platforms are "bay" style, with the steam locomotives (all of the locomotives are steam) backing into the platform. The train Amber was on was on a platform close to the main entryway. Amber must walk right past the train in order to get to the other trains. More to the point, the car that Amber was on was the second to last on the train, and thus Amber must pass near the police activity. There are at least two more long platforms past Amber's train, with one having a train on the right side, and thus leaving that platform exposed to view from inside Amber's train.
The luggage car does have the great advantage of being nearly as far away on the same train as it can be from the car of the most activity. Unfortunately, to get to it Amber would need to either walk on the platform past the activity, or cross across rail to get to the car.
The platforms are definitely much lower in activity than before, with Amber's train and the waiting area having been evacuated. There is another train on the other side that still has griffins going to it, who either returned or never heard the gunshots. The police have not sectioned off the platforms to prevent everyone from entering, or at least, they have not done so to unrelated platforms. Amber sees at least four police officers roaming about and two medical personnel, although that is likely only a fraction of the activity.
>>162303>>162300She is upset that a principle she is trying to hold is not followed. She is concerned about Dark Star's trustworthiness in general. And there is more going on unrelated to the smoking.
>>162325If he would hide smoking behind his back,
what else would he do behind her back?
>>162326Look at her butt, obviously.
>>162300“Why won’t you give it up?” She asks
>>162333One ear flops up, the other down
“Will you?”
>>162334"smoking has never really been a very big part of my life. it won't be too hard to give up."
>>162335“So why would you betray my trust for something that wasn’t important to you? Does it mean that little to you? How would you act if it were something that
did matter to you?”
>>162336"Look you wern't the one who blew that bitch away. she had just talked to me a few seconds before. that effects somepony."
>>162334>>162337She breathes out, and looks down.
“I’m ‘under investigation.’ I would be suspended if they hadn’t lost so many agents to transfers… they are betting on the Ciry trying to keep quiet about the whole thing. Betting they don’t want to escalate the situation. But if the bluff is called, I am their scapegoat.”
>>162339“It means an internal review of what happened. If they find wrong doing, I will be disciplined.”
>>162340a concerned look spreads across his face.
"For what happened tonight? and disciplined how?"
>>162341“Yes. And how would depend on the investigation. Realistically, it would depend on how bad the consequences are for the Blackhooves.”
>>162342"That....Doesn't sound Good....at all."
>>162343“It isn’t….” She says, looking down
>>162344He puts his foreleg around her
>>162345She remains leaning against the wall in the hallway, Dark Star’s foreleg draped over her
>>162346"...things will be okay blue. they won't find anything bad."
>>162347“They’ll react to the City’s reaction. If the city covers it up, they’ll cover it up. If they cry out for blood…”
>>162348He grabs her shoulders and looks into her eyes
"Everything will be okay, blue."
>>162349She looks up at him with turquoise eyes that glimmer green.
“Are you sure?”
>>162350"Of course, celestia can strike me down if im wrong."
he laughs
>>162353“Hehehe”
She lets out a small laugh, tilting her muzzle low, and looking up to Dark Star
>>162354he nuzzles his face against hers.
"that's better"
>>162356She closes her eyes, and Dark Star feels the short, soft fur of the top of her muzzle against his
>>162357"come back to bed."
He continues nuzzling her
