>>150920Most of the walls of the large building are barren white with shades of pink and beige. All in all the Cathedral has perhaps as much art as a church of half that size would in the Heartland, and most of the art is of clearly modern origin. There are, however, stained glass windows, and friezes in abundance, as well as a few statues. This Cathedral surely must be intended to be one of the flagship churches of Southeast Equestria, though it isn't necessarily the best it has to offer.
The largest window depicts Celestia and Luna in the air in a position similar to the "Yin and Yang" as they appear on the (now former) Equestrian nation flag. The difference is that while Luna is beneath Celestia, she is oriented upwards, as is Celestia, and both seem to be going towards rays of light. Their manes are depicted as half of pink and blue - on the bottom segments - and half of waving multicolor, as depicted on the top of the manes, closest to the light.
Celestia has multiple other images and freezes, mostly either depicting her alone in graceful posture, or talking to one or more other ponies. These ponies are always smaller and physically lower, and appear to assume a student-teacher relation to the princess. One of those images is of Celestia with a hoof extended, and a small and unsure unicorn Twilight Sparkle beneath, looking in the direction Celestia is pointing.
Though Luna occupies part of the largest window, she has no special attention given to her. There is one other frieze, which actually occupies a significant portion of the Southeast panel of the hexagonal sloped ceiling where it meets the wall, which has Celestia and Luna sitting together on a throne. This frieze is in relief and is the pink color of the stone it is cut from. Tiny little slivers of silver and gold metal on the frieze imply that it was once covered in precious metal foil or paint that has since been removed. The only other image of the Moon princess - admittedly also fairly large, is on the pane of glass on the northern most panel of the west, just behind and to the left of the Saint Doggie statute. It depicts the elements returning Princess Luna to Celestia, who embraces her. Well okay, that's actually not the only other panel - the panel just to the left of this one, to the left and in front of the Saint Doggie statue - depicts the Elements sending a friendship ray at Nightmare Moon... But Luna worshipers would rather not count that one. Candance has a frieze above the northern portion of the section with the altar showing her and Shining Armor defeating the Changeling Invasion of 1002 with Love.
The Elements of Harmony receive several works of art. The frieze on the Northwest portion of the cathedral depicts all of the elements sitting underneath what is presumably the Tree of Harmony. This one too, is bare. Besides the panels mentioned before, there are also panels of the Elements defeating Discord and Tirek. The only Elements to receive special attention are Twilight Sparkle - who has a frieze of her in a ray of light with spread Alicorn wings and wearing the Element of Magic - and Fluttershy, who has a small glass panel in the western most portion of the eastern section on the north side (closest to the sanctuary), that depicts her simply sitting with a hoof up, letting a butterfly land on her. A bigger panel on the western section depicts her talking to a Discord, evidently in his reformation.
The Pillars receive perhaps an equal amount of attention. The frieze on the northwest corner of the sanctuary depicts the Pillars together defeating the Sirens, while a stained glass window depicts them together fighting shadows. Mage Meadowbrook has an individual panel opposite the panel of Fluttershy, and a frieze depicting her curing the plague. Flash Magnus has a panel fighting Dragons with his shield.
Saint Christopher has two panels, both near his statue on the western side of the northern section. One depicts him in a high river, carrying a foal above the water. Another depicts him in a city below the throne of an Earth Pony who appears to be some kind of king, and surrounded by three guards with spears, as well as spectators. (The well above average sized brown bulldog Diamond Dog is as tall as the pony stallion sitting atop his raised throne). There is another especially prominent local saint whom Virgin Flame recognizes as Hayley Sweeton, who has an entire frieze on the Southeast corner dedicated to her above a classroom of students, and an individual panel of her on the North and west near the sanctuary. She has a statue opposite Saint Christopher, though smaller in size. There are also panels in the eastern section of an indigenous-looking green earth pony looking upwards at a ray of light, and another of a thin Pegasus stallion in some foreign land, judging by the architecture of the buildings around him. There is a bay behind him, a couple ponies, and two ponies in armor pointing curved swords at him. There is one small statute in the eastern section of a pony with a sword.
Several panels in every section are missing, perhaps a quarter to a third of all panels. These are replaced by plywood, plastic covering, and in one instance, regular glass. While one of the panels covered in plastic still has bits of blue visible that was presumably once sky, most of the panels are removed entirely. One frieze is missing, and another is evidently broken. One location in the eastern section seems to have formerly held a small statue that is gone now. A few panels and friezes have small chips missing from them, though mostly what is visible is in good condition.
