>>142367"Oh, I was more asking if you had any more questions
about me, but I could also help introduce you to ponies, if you want help making friends."
>>142368"I don't... I don't know. I suppose I would ask about your family... I mean, if that is appropriate. Or what you've seen as a wondering fighter. Or why it is Equestrians think... certain things... are breakfast topics."
>>142369"My family...well, I suppose I should start with my parents. My father, Molotok Mechov, was quartermaster in Royal Guard before I was born. He was biggest, strongest Earth Pony you have ever seen. After he met my mother, he retired from Guard work and became blacksmith, and he is pony who trained me in ways of warrior. My mother was unicorn noble from Trottingham, she was rather frail and kept out of sight by her affluent family. She ran away with my father after he had saved her from fire in her family's manor house. I never knew her, she passed away giving birth to me.
"I had three foals with Storm. My eldest son, Silver Rain, moved out to Las Pegasus as soon as he was able. He was hit hardest by Storm's death, as he was only one of my foals to actually see her die. Last I heard he was kind of businesspony before War. My youngest son is Spectral Streak, though he is also called Spec. He joined Equestrian Army after moving out and established himself as expert markspony during Stalliongrader Civil War. He was member of Equestrian Recon during Great War. My daughter is White Light. She was smart, so very smart despite intelligence of her parents. She also developed very close relationship with Spec when they were teenagers, and they remained closely in touch since. She graduated from Canterlot University with degrees in Magic Theory and Practical Application of Magic, and was working for Royal Canterlot Research Institute before and during War."
>>142370She looks over at Silver with wide eyes
"So you are of noble blood?" She asks
>>142371"Technically, yes, though no doubt my mother, Pleasant Meadow, was quietly disowned by her family after running away to be with peasant stallion. I have never known benefits of nobility, myself."
>>142372She tilts her head again, to the other side.
"You just got this house, right? Where did you live before?" She asks
>>142373"When I was colt, I lived with my father in his Blacksmith's Shop. Then after I met Storm, we built cabin outside of Manehattan. Nothing fancy, but it did well for my family for some years, and myself for many years after."
>>142374She nods
"How did you have a family, while living a life as a travelling fighter?"
>>142375"We made decision to settle after Storm became pregnant, and built our cabin. We still had some adventures and travelling after having our foals, but they were usually much shorter and less deadly."
>>142376"Did you..... abandon fighting?"
>>142377He shakes his head.
"We still fought, but we were less inclined towards recklessly trotting into middle of enemy camps and fighting large number of enemies head on. We had foals to think of, we could not leave them parentless."
>>142378"Still that's... it must have been hard. To both fight and have family."
>>142379He nods.
"It is hard. To have these connections is to have great weakness enemies can exploit...but it is these connections that make life worth living. And it is because of that I have no regrets about having my family."
>>142380She nods
"And you will continue as a fighter?" She asks
>>142381He nods again.
"It is what I know, and what my special talent is. I am also fair Weaponsmith, but I would need tools and place to set up shop if I wanted to settle down and stop fighting."
>>142382"But.... Equestria is a land of peace. Who do you even fight?"
>>142383"There are some who do not abide by that idea. Those like griffons at 33 Hoebuck. There is saying, among warriors like me: if you want peace, prepare for war."
>>142384She nods, and for the moment, is out of questions.
>>142385"You asked about my openness to talk about sex at breakfast table?"
>>142386She blinks, with something of a stunned expression
"Yes..."
>>142387"Well, personally, I did not think we were in
too public place, and I knew you had been curious about subject. I also thought we were familiar enough with each other to discuss it. I do apologise if it offended you at all that I was so open.
>>142388She wraps her tail around herself, and folds both ears back while presenting that toothy smile.
>>142390"Oh, just..." She does not finish her sentence
>>142391He turns his head slightly, pointing an ear towards the kirin.
"What is it? I am curious, now. If I upset you, I would like to know."
>>142392She doesn't say anything, but maintains that awkward grin
>>142393The unicorn has a troubled look on his face, not matching her awkward grin with a smile.
"Khoi?"
>>142395"It is big part of friendship to be open and honest with friends. I would like if you told me what is bothering you. If something is making you uncomfortable, we will set it aside."
>>142396"Well, it's... not breakfast conversation in Ngua Nam." She sats
>>142397He bows his head to her.
"I am sorry. Does that mean you still do not want to talk about it, yet?"
>>142398"I will discuss it with my husband." She answers
>>142399"Hmm...alright. What would you think of me as your husband? How would I size up?"
>>142400She blinks
Only slowly, does she start to blush (or seems to. Kirin are rather fluffy on the parts not covered in scales)
>>142401He rearranges himself to move his legs out from under him, so he can stretch out a little. It's nothing inappropriate, but it also lets him showcase his strong, nimble body to her.
"So? I am big, strong, healthy, I can financially support myself and others, I have prior experience being husband and father, and I would like to think I am fairly nice pony."
>>142403"Thought has crossed my mind ever since you told me what you want is to find mate. You are quite intelligent, kind, honest, and pretty, and to see someone as nice as you find good mate would be wonderful."
>>142404She blushes, and holds up her right foreleg across her face
"You are... charming." She lowers her foreleg
"But what about Jubilosa?"
>>142405He smiles at the comment, and holds his chin up by a hoof.
"I already asked her, actually, what she would think of you and I. What she wants is companionship, and I am more than happy to provide that. But she also wants to experience life before settling down with someone. She swore she does not mind, so long as I do not leave her behind. I suppose I would have to ask
you what you thought."
I have to sleep now, unfortunately
>>142407"But... you two..." She does not complete the sentence
>>142414"Yes. You know what you said about sex, what you have learned from your homeland? While it is one valid philosophy behind sex, there are others which are similarly just as valid. Some like you view sex as simply way to have foals, or for one partner to release their carnal desires. Others view sex as something special and intimate between two ponies who love each other, and way to explore and deepen bond between them. And still others view sex as way to build camaraderie and creater stronger bonds, even between friends. All three of these views are valid, and it is to each individual to determine for themselves which is best.
"As for Jubilosa and I, we are both consenting adults who like sex. Unless one of us were to say something, it is not wrong for us to enjoy in each other's company."
>>142415Her lips return to their forward position
"It is not a toy, and there is only one truth. Union is sacred, and never to be trivialized."
>>142416"If it was one, universal truth, then why would it be in dispute all across world?"
>>142417Almost forcefully,
"Because Spirit is not always in control. Often, matter is, and the passions with it."
>>142418Silver holds his forehooves up, as if to try to keep things from getting too heated.
"Okay, okay. You know, passion is not so bad as you think. Of course you are using it as aspect of sex, but passion extends far beyond just that."
>>142420"I am aware." She says. "And it can be bad in other areas as well."
>>142421"Does that mean we should give it up entirely?"
