Welcome back to the Latest Thread of Occupied Equestria
Onyx, Spark and Brie settle down for the night in a cabin in the woods along with a set of recently rescued ponies, saved from Changeling cocoons, as well as the changelings who sought to take them captive, who are themselves locked away as captives.
In Baltimare, Silver, Dark Star, Iron, and now Midnight Lily do their last preparations before seeking to take on a creature smuggling operation in a port-side neighborhood

>>114036 →So is it okay that I only play on the weekends, GM?
>>114041Yes, that is okay. Currently we have two groups, one in Batlimare with the semi-daily players, and one in Whinnysota in the Changeling Zone with players that are less frequent, but most active in the weekends. Although the main group is consolidated as one now, before that it was split into the characters taking individual stories and quests, including a quest that was almost a mini-campaign that one character did solo. Besides that, there have been many solo-quests and missions, so it is okay if you would like to do that before later joining up with a group. You can do that too.
\r
>>114041Yay! New (potential) player!
>>114042Is there a way for me to show you my character, when I am done with it, without doxing myself. I think I care about that on some level.
Actually fuck it. Here is the concept for my character. If you are a pc and actually look at this spoiler before it is eventually revealed in the campaign, then you sir is the worst kind of faget. The gay kind.
PC spoiler. Intended for the GM only.
So I was thinking of playing a illusionist warlocke. This unicorn's patron is going to be named Anon and be a that green man that we associate the name with.
The story is that my character was a con-artist who used her magic to steal. In the end she she went to far and according to the law at the time was sentence to death. However, princess Twilight/Celestia spared her life and instead punished her by cutting her horn in half so that she could never use it again. My character did not mind though because she knew she had angred nobles(?) Anyway, she survived because of the princess. When the changellings attacked Canterlot, she had was in garden of statues specifically by one of a man. This one called out to her in her moment of need. She agreed to the horsefucker's lewd terms and he mended her horn togather. She was told to break off a piece of the statue y her new patron so that she could bring him with her from now on. This piece she made into a necklace which she wears at all time.
I skipped a lot of details. This is just the general idea. Since you are GM tell me which ideas doesn't work in your current story and I will just change them.
So to summrize: She is a royalist illusionist warloche with anon as a patron and her horn wasn't fully repaired. There is still crack in it so this means there is a risk her magic goes wild. That is all. >solo-questsThank you but I will proabably join up with the group pretty much immediately. We will see. It depends on the group. The concept for the character's personality is pretty much done so like I can probably come up with a reason for my chracter to follow the group in character.
>>114044Hello, I’m glad to see you already have a character idea. You can communicate with me in thread. There is a discord, but I have tried to avoid it and haven’t posted it thus far. There are several possible areas to introduce your character. The Baltimare group is in progress in a mission and are inside of buildings, but there are ways around that I can think of.
First thing, the warlock class... I am not entirely sure about that. First, it’s not in the original SRD for 3.5 edition. I see that it is in the complete arcana or something like that. I have mostly tried to restrict the number of books involved so that combat mechanics are simpler and I can be sure I understand all of the players’ powers and can design encounters accordingly. The other thing is that warlocks are divine casters with their gods, and I’ve been trying to keep a consistent lore on what gods and divinities there are. I would prefer it if you played the same character, but it’s an arcane spell caster like sorcerer it wizard. Maybe if you really insist on it I can find some way to place it in the world, but right now I am very iffy/s]
The other thing is the presence of a human, particularly a 4chan anon. This campaign is based upon a world used in another fan project, and that fan project is notable for repeatedly and strongly rejecting requests to include humans into its world because that would break immersion. I generally follow that. However, Equestria Girls is cannon in this universe, so it is cannon, and who is to say that a stray human never cane through before getting stoned in the un-fun sense? So that may be fine, so long as it is minimized and downplayed.
All real Anon fillies, with the possible exceptions of green text writers, are Earth Ponies. This is just a fact
>>114046Are you sure it's wise to link him to the Baltimare Group instead of the Brie group?
>>114056Oops.
I guessed my hoof just slipped.
:3
>>114058Haha! Don't be angry. I was just making first contact for today.
cue laugh track >>114046So if we skip Anon, maybe my chracter can be a warloche whose patron is one of this universe's gods. But if you don't want to I will accepted that. Np.Otherwise, I wanna bee a breezie barbarian.
>>114064>breezie barbarianProps for coming up with an idea I think nobody has ever thought of, before.
>>114067Eh, forget about the warlocke. I will just play a female unicorn illusionist wizard. I will return when my character sheet is done.
>>114069Thanks, it does sound fun but I'm not going to play it. Not this time anyway.
>>114066>your pic >mfw Pitching the idea.
>>114070For any other anon who is intrested. Feel free to read the spoilers now since the no longer spoil anything. I won't be playing that chracter concept anyway.

>>114078We look forward to you joining. I’ll admit I am not certain as to where is best to inset your character (Probably up North with the Changeling Lands group)
>>114079>WhinnysotaIf they eat meatballs there I shouldfeel right at home.
>>114080Well.... it
is technically modeled on Northern Wisconsin/Minnesota tip, the area of the United States with the highest Swedish population, though I think Norwegians and Germans are slightly more numerous (followed by Finns).
If your character joins there, it might be a while before there is combat

>>114161
I'm afraid my thought process behind that entire ordeal was a bit more simple: I was tired of pointless arguments, Iron and Skies acting like foals, and waiting forever to start the mission, and then rather shocked and kinda aggrivated when Skies refused to apologize for her part in the fight in exchange for telling Iron "Fuck You", doubled down on her insult, and then blatently lied right to Silver's face that it was Iron who attacked her. After Silver apologized, I just kinda considered it settled, then Iron's player put a literal curse on Iron that he can't be a dick to Skies anymore after he fueled a third argument so it was really settled for good.
>>114082Well, honestly I don't really care for where I wind up. You can decide that for me whne the time comes.
>>114178We can actually start your character up now, or soon anyways. If you have any preference for the North or South group, tell me. The scene starts in a highway (or forest) in the cold north, or along a lot urban street if in the south, perhaps about to enter a government building
>>114180Is there something I should think about when building my character? In the other, they had point buy for character creation and you started off with an amount of gold pieces. Is there something similar going on in this thread?
>>114202Most characters didn't roll anything. It's more freeform here, so long as you don't put 18 on everything you should be fine.
>>114204Okay, thanks. How about 21?
>>114202>>114204I mean...I rolled for my stats, but okay...
>>114205Sure. Sounds good.
>>114207Well, you're an exception to the rule.
>>114208Wait, what I was just kidding. Can one even have any stat over 20? I thought it was max.
Or were you like, "Yeah, sure whatever," as you rolled you eyes? >>114202You can use either point buy (about 29 points) or do a traditional roll for stats. A Unicorn, I believe, has -2 strength, +2 Int, and +2 will save, plus mild telekinesis and perhaps a spell like ability relating to a cutie mark power. You also have a free skill maxed out that relates to the cutie mark (8 skill points at level 5, or 8 at level 6). Characters are at level 5 at present. This is a relatively high tech and low magic setting for most D&D and My Little Pony campaigns. Imagine pretty much what they have in the show plus occasional automobiles, radios, and firearms. Your wizard will probably be well above the magical abilities of most of the creatures she meets.
I would prefer no chaotic evil, neutral evil, and chaotic neutral alignments, at least where the chaotic and evil elements are not subtle. However, this world isn’t so much split into good and evil as it is different ideologies - “Pony first,” Changeling Imperialists, Equestrian Momarchists, Cosmopolitans, Communists of various varieties and so forth. I would prefer you think of some motive that would allow your character to fit to the circumstance, seeing as the campaign is already in motion and it is harder to change the circumstance to fit your character.

>>114210>First paragraphOkay, nice. Then I know.
>>114214Thanks.
>>114210>Second paragraphYou don't have to worry. My chracter will be simple. I decided upon that because my problems with the setting. To put it simply: I don't care for the premise of this setting and generally think the campaign seem bloated.
Now don't get me wrong you are probably a great GM and I still like to play but that is just it. I want to play first and foremost and less engage in the setting.
So, I will keep my character simple.
>>114222What exactly
are you looking for in a campaign?
>>114222I hope I don't come off too strong.
>>114228>>114227I'd wager he wants meaningful character interactions and some specks of combat here and there.
>>114227Even if I accepted the premise of the setting. That is not the crux of my problem. The problem is that like, roleplaying will be hard to do ina setting like this.
The reason for this is because lets say that the subject of religion comes up in the campagin. What should I as a christian do in this case? Either my character is also religious or she ain't. Let's say she is relgious. I will literally be playing myself. Suddenly, my character will have arguments that she shouldn't have due to her backstory or I accomdates for that and she is even more me then she was before.
Or she disagrees with my views and I play someone I disagree with. This means that I will either strawman my political opponents or I will speak against my own views.
So to avoid this I will have to play a character that is indifferent to religon. Someone who has no strong throughts that are neither pro nor con.
>What exactly are you looking for in a campaign?I want to be able to roleplay someone that ain't me. Which will be hard if subjects which I have strong opionins on appears in the campaign. Suddenly, the debate that really should be between the chracters in the story will grow and become meta.
Again, I do wanna play and I read the begining of the first thread and you seemed to be somewhat good at GMing so don't take it the wrong way.
Uh... Silver floof, Iron, or Dark Star, you want to contribute?
>>114238>The reason for this is because lets say that the subject of religion comes up in the campagin. What should I as a christian do in this case?I'm Christian myself. My Character in this Game is Basically an Atheist What i do is disassociate my characters personal beliefs from my own. that makes it easier for me to forge a separate personality for him the same way a Writer would give a personality to one of his characters.that's not to say that he Doesn't Hold some of my Actual Beliefs.
>>114241Are boops valid contribution?
>>114238A respectable decision. Should help you avoid the things you want to avoid.
Don't worry too much about PCs doing arguments between eachother at random intervals. At least not Iron against you. It's more about the more... politically active characters. My advice would be to ignore any mention that could cause an argument in case they show up, like, say, Dark Star and Skies badmouthing a deity or Iron saying something sexist. Try to divert it to personal things and not let your character be enraged by them. That way, you should be able to completely avoid the bad stuff.
>>114241...Contribute to what, exactly? What I would want out of the campaign? Some advice to give to the new player?
>>114238>>114242Basically this: for me, Silver the character isn't Anon the player, or at least I try to keep the two separate. I know it won't work for everyone, so I won't try to force it on you. I would recommend either avoiding any discussion that upset you, or if you become upset, go ahead and take a minute to breathe and think things through.
>>114242Deus vult!
>>114244>>114249Maybe, you guys are right. Maybe it is just because I'm too cynical. Perhaps this is actually possible if everyone is actually roleplaying. I was just thinking that this could get really meta.
We will see how it goes when we play.
I won't make my chracter aligned with any particular ideology. I will just flesh her out and see what that leads to so she won't just be simple and might actually interact with the setting this way.
>>114253Excellent. Don't worry. The Brie Group doesn't deal with political arguing, so you're safer there.
>>114238>>114253Well, I will say this. If I had to say that there was any particular theme I try to work into my campaign (I don’t know how well it actually shows), it would be that there are a large variety of perspectives in the world and in history, and they each have their motives; their reasons, and their world views, and however it appears to a third party perspective, it makes sense to them. Thus I have many NPCs of many various religious beliefs, political ideologies, races and creeds. Much of the role play has concerned religious, moral, and political questions as they pop up in a fantasy world with fantasy problems. and I would invite you to explore that as well. Of course, if you would rather avoid all of that, that is fine as well, as there are a great many factions and individuals that operate independently of or indifferent to the political world around them, and that’s been a significant part of the role play as well.
One of the characters I use frequently is essentially a Spartan, with values from one of the most evil regimes ever to have existed. Another is a Changeling supremicist, and still another has vaguely religious leftist beliefs, but really is an apathetic criminal who avoids most political issues.
The centralized Universal Church of Harmony in this world is based upon Catholics Christianity, largely because I attended a catholic college as an undergraduate (even though I am not Catholic) and thus know an enormous amount about Catholicism. If you wanted to you could make your character the follower of an ancient religion that predated Celestia and Luna and was practiced by the native pony inhabitants, but was suppressed and forced into hiding, and now followers identify each other by small talismans each of them carry. Or she could be the follower of a new branch of Harmonism established by Hoofseph Smith, who found new hidden texts and started a migration to s less inhabited religion so his followers could worship in Peace. Or it could be a recently founded close not religious group based upon belief in deities beyond the lunar sphere and are spoken to by means of psychedelic drugs.
>>114253I've gotten the sense that the majority of the party prefers roleplay and story to the meta game, so no need to worry on that front. The one meta-focused PC we had, Sister Ash, left after one-too-many arguments with the roleplay/story-focused GM. I kinda miss having her, even if Sister Ash didn't interact much with the other PCs, and even if she made our characters look bad. She always knew how to
light up the party.
>I won't make my chracter aligned with any particular ideology. I will just flesh her out and see what that leads to so she won't just be simple and might actually interact with the setting this way. It's a good choice to make.
>>114241Might as well post what I would want while I'm posting already.
Primarily, there are two things (or three, if you split one of them up) I would want out of the campaign: storytelling, and progression. For storytelling, I like reading the lore and backstory behind various points of interest, ponies, and missions in this world that's both so familiar and so fantastical. I would also include character interaction and development as part of that storytelling (even if Silver has a nasty habit of nearly ruining relationships he tries to have with ponies), but I could also understand it being separate. I also like being able to contribute to the lore and story, and the way you've let us add to the world (within reason) has been just great! So far, you've been doing excellent in storytelling, so there's nothing I could complain about.
As for progression, I would like to see tangible progression as the party completes missions. It sucks to feel like you're spinning your wheels without going anywhere, grinding forever for some basic supplies or a hoofful of Bits, and it also sucks to feel like there's nothing to the game because money and loot is just falling from the sky without anyone having to do anything. You've also been doing well there, though maybe I would suggest increasing the amount of Bits and loot for quests and missions a bit, especially for characters like Dark Star and Iron which do side missions for their respective factions as they seem to be the ones most hurting for Bits at the moment. The mini-campaign Silver did in the catacombs was pretty good for loot, though, especially if you decide that the greatsword is still there waiting for Silver to discover it (though I understand if you decide to take it away).
I’m meeting with a witness right now Yes. At 10 PM on a Saturday night. But keep typing, I will respond later
>>114260I Like the Idea of having an Arena Type Place.
>>114262>>114261Iron did find a fisticuffs underground boxing.
>>114262Yea a place where you can fight opponents and monsters for money and fame, like in oblivion or a lot of other RPGs.
>>114263>>114264I'm not sure how it would fit in the world, but I do like the idea. Maybe Iron, Star, and Silver could form a team and dominate together?
>>114265Team fights in Arenas in DnD are usually A Great Idea.
>>114266>>114265Sadly, we either have to go to Sparta or find an illegal arena ring, since in Baltimare that kind of violence is illegal.
>>114267It's a damn shame. Ah well, we'll figure something out.
>>114261Do you mean like the “Arena” episode of Star Trek, the “Gamers of Triskelion” episode of Star Trek which prominently featured an arena, or Elder Scrolls: The Arena?
>>114264Uh.... Not entirely sure how that would work in the setting. The SDP are obviously not going to allow it, nor would the Conservatives or the Fascists. I can’t really imagine the Changelings thinking it’s a good use if time either. There has already been an underground boxing match run by the gangs, though I’m not sure if that’s quite what you had in mind. Maybe bandits in the jungles would make captives fight, or find it entertaining. Certainly I can imagine Dragons fighting in arenas, if the party ever went to the Badlands or the Dragon Isles.
Actually... I think I know....

He could not have imagined that would come in the form of his fellow griffin, picked up, and cast like a rock by a pony of in-equine strength. He watches the griffin thrown forward, grace the ceiling, then plunge down on him, in where horror of what could have done this.
The griffin lands on the griffin, and both fall to the ground
>>114339Iron smiles.
"Next time, come over here, lazy catbird!"
I suppose it's the end of his turn. Let's see if his/my hunch was right.
>>114340>>114338The second griffin is knocked down - not out - but behind him is a third griffin with a redder color scheme. He looks back at Iron and midnight with narrowed eyes. Not entirely fearful, but with a tinge of anger. He has no visible weapon
“Wie stuurde je?”
>>114341Midnight turns towards the grif, her ears folding back as she lets out a quiet "eeeeeee" before her knife goes flying across the room at the griffon.
[1d20+6 = 23] >>114344The knife flies through the air, rotates, and flies into the side of the griffin into his left. He recoils in pain, and stretches the wing slightly, as the knife is lodged by the limb itself where it connects to his torso. The griffin is in pain and the other is knocked down... but neither is out
>>114345Can Iron start charging into a big ol' hug against the third red gryphon?
>>114347Alrighty! Here we go!
I'll assume the gryphon victimized by gryphon body is currently prone for this round.
Iron charges against the red menacing gryphon in order to shut his trap, for
he is the one to ask questions... later... with a possible translator if posible.
A-anyways, rolling charging full power attack.
[1d20+10 = 30]<Insert pain train joke here >>114348>>114349The griffin, for just a moment, looks back at his wing to remove the knife, not seeing the charging pony until Iron is already in his stride. He turns around to try to flee, but Iron still manages to land a solid buck, straight into his partly turned face, that possibly even breaks his beak. He falls unconscious before he even reaches the ground
>>114350Iron nods to himself.
"There we go."
He turns to the last gryphon, with a
menacing pose, 4th wall invaded by shadow and purple symbols scrolling downwards shakily.
No, this is not an intimidate roll. Just want to meme.
>>114351I mean, if Iron is looking for shadows and purple symbols to come down upon him, that can certainly be arranged
The griffin is pushing off the other griffin in an effort to get up. He looks at Iron, and says to him in a serious tone:
“Ze zullen er zijn. Ze zullen je pakken. Je kunt niet ontsnappen, zonaanbidder”
>>114352Oh really?
Iron simply walks over to the last one like in pic related.
"Sorry. I cannot understand you, but do not fret."
He raises his hoof.
"I know a language we both understand."
And
STOMP![1d20+15 = 28]<Light stomp of family friendly violence >>114352>>114351>>114350Midnight rolls her eyes at the stallion, before hearing the griffon.
She walks over before one wing reaches under the other, and with a click produces a revolver which is pointed at the griffon.
"Silence."
I on the contrary, I am intimidating
[1d20+2 = 10] ゴゴゴゴ
[1d20 = 15]>>114353The stomp vibrates through the ground and shakes the walls in a ring that’s a little bit high pitched than you’d imagine if there were solid rock underneath
>>114354Midnight does her best Monsignor Martinez
>>114358>>114354>>114353He responds
“Waar geloof je dat je ziel zal gaan als je sterft?”
>>114359"Why can you not just speak ponish? Iron, where is my knife?"
She keeps the gun aimed, but turns to look at Iron for a moment.
>>114359>>114361So melodramatic.Iron shrugs.
"Pretty sure the red gryphon has it."
He walks over to the knocked out one, and takes it out and walks back, passing it to Midnight.
>>114362I'll have you know that her kindness only extends to ponies and kirin! Griffons are the enemies of the Princesses!"Thank you Iron, were you hurt?"
Her gaze softens as she accepts the knife, looking over Iron for any wounds.
>>114362Don’t insult and belittle NPCs, especially out of character and with knowledge you only have because of metagaming. At best it means next time there will be twice as many twice as strong enemies, and really it just dampens my enthusiasm for the game
>>114364There are no wounds on Iron aside from the one sustained earlier. The griffin is looking more than a little concerned, but not entirely fearful
