Unhomogenized milk. Homogenization disperses the cream in a milk so it doesn't rise to the top, making it easier to be absorbed by the body and therefore making you fatter. I was lucky enough to grow up near a dairy farm so I could drink unhomogenized milk and I was much healthier for it.

Raw milk spoils faster than pasteurized/homogenized milk so it has to be fresh, but otherwise no Shlomo, you can't.

Raw milk doesn't even cause a reaction in lactose intolerant individuals, because raw milk contains the enzymes necessary to properly digest the milk.

That's retarded. That's what pasteurization is. You're destroying essential enzymes and rendering the overwhelming majority of the protein insoluble.

It makes sense, nothing more natural and pure than straight from the udder.

Thats exactly the point.
Okay, I'll acknowledge that pasteurization can address any issues if you're dealing with a sick or diseased cow, but why would you take milk from a sick or diseased cow? If a cow was sick, the farmer wouldn't sell the milk because that's his reputation on the line.
Beyond that, pasteurization only benefits industrialized dairy. Mass-production milking facilities - even when they don't use growth hormones and stimulants - are rife with contaminants in spite of (or perhaps because of?) agricultural antibiotics. Also, the extended shelf life.
If you look at milk on a nutritional level, raw milk surpasses pasteurized milk (of whatever fat percentage) on a scale that is almost scary.
But by all means (to those who are wont) keep drinking your choccy milk, what could go wrong? You couldn't possibly be drinking (((their))) milk could you?

Yup. Time to stop cooperating with the (((System))), if possible.

>Fresh, Unprocessed (Raw) Whole Milk: Safety, Health and Economic Issues
>PROTECTIVE COMPONENTS: Raw milk contains numerous components that assist in:
>Killing pathogens in the milk (lactoperoxidase, lactoferrin, leukocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, antibodies, medium chain fatty acids, lysozyme, B12 binding protein, bifidus factor, beneficial bacteria);
>Preventing pathogen absorption across the intestinal wall (polysaccharides, oligosaccharides, mucins, fibronectin, glycomacropeptides, bifidus factor, beneficial bacteria);
>Strengthening the Immune System (lymphocytes, immunoglobulins, antibodies, hormones and growth factors) (Scientific American, December 1995; British J of Nutrition, 2000:84(Suppl. 1):S3-S10, S75-S80, S81-S89).
>PASTEURIZATION HARMFUL: Many of these anti-microbial and immune-enhancing components are greatly reduced in effectiveness by pasteurization, and completely destroyed by ultra-pasteurization (Scientific American, December 1995; British J of Nutrition, 2000:84(Suppl. 1):S3-S10, S75-S80, S81-S89).

Go look up brucellosis. You can get tuberculosis from contaminated milk, too.

Look, you don't even have to cook it. You don't even have to boil it. 145 F. for 30 minutes, or 162 F. for fifteen seconds, to kill the bacteria. This is called "pasteurization" and I don't grasp why some people have a problem with it.

>>14705 You're destroying essential enzymes and rendering the overwhelming majority of the protein insoluble.

>You're destroying essential enzymes and rendering the overwhelming majority of the protein insoluble.

Human cells produce all the enzymes we need to live, thank you. Do you even know what enzymes are and what they do? PROTIP: If memorizing the Krebs Cycle was not part of college course work for you, your opinions about the nutritional value of pasteurized milk are worthless.

Also, mammalian digestive systems are pretty damn good at absorbing protein, including cooked protein. Denaturing casein or whey protein--the only proteins normally present in milk--takes temperatures higher than those normally used to pasteurize milk in the US.

Anyway, denatured proteins are still strings of amino acids, just unwound from the primary metastable configurations to less compact configurations that are thermodynamically favored at the higher temperatures to which they are exposed in the cooking process than the tight complex coils in which they are produced in a living cell. Denatured proteins are still 100% digestible and 100% absorbable.

Now, if you're looking for real, valid reasons to be concerned about milk and dairy products, remember when in 2008 the Chinese got caught adulterating milk with melamine, and killed tens of thousands of their own people, then thousands of pets when they adulterated canned pet food with melamine? Now think about how much of the canned and frozen food in your local supermarket has "Product of China" on the label in tiny letters somewhere. Over the past fifteen years an awful lot of American agriculture and food processing has been "outsourced" to China. But that's really more a "China" problem than a "milk" problem. When in Canada I don't buy the Chinese "Lucky" brand tomato paste, either. That shit's orange.

>If memorizing the Krebs Cycle was not part of college course work for you, your opinions about the nutritional value of pasteurized milk are worthless.
>Appeals to authority
Aaaaand, opinion discarded. No, I didn't study nutrition, I studied engineering. Luckily, there are a variety of resources available to supplement a lack of (((scholastic))) education. You can find them if you're clever/diligent. In the meantime, I'll suffice it thus:
>Human cells produce all the enzymes we need to live, thank you.
That explains why lactose intolerance is a thing right? Weird, cuz people who are lactose intolerant can consume raw milk without issue.
