The chair was invented in 1724 by Gustave Chaire, a French nobleman. Prior to its invention people used to stand constantly because the only type of seating available was the throne, which only kings were allowed to sit in. Rudimentary church pews also existed as early as the late Middle Ages, but the downside was you could only sit in church, you couldn't take the pews with you when you left.
>>8136It's funny, because you're actually pretty close, according to wiki.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_chair"Once the idea of privilege faded the chair speedily came into general use."
See that, SJW? See what great things man can do when they aren't hung up over "privilege"?
FUCKING INVENT CHAIRS.
>>8136>>8137you're both wrong, it was invented in the year 69 by Augustus Chair when he tried to squat on a box!
>>8121My guess would be "first person to consciously move a comfortable thing to sit on to where it was needed".
