I suspect the reason why is quicker error reporting. If there's an issue/bug/exploit the creator will get faster feedback compared to hosting it elsewhere and having to trawl through all sorts of bullshit, waiting on error logs from the end user and the like. unfortunately, fixing 4chan is more complicated. if hiro's team was able to do it, they wouldn't have let the site get so out of date in the first place. now it's a total teardown to fix it. it would be idiotic to just bring it back online when everyone now has the site code. 4chan got the way it was because hiro used it as a paycheck. he didn't do the maintenance or updating you have to do on a place like that. if it comes back at all, i highly doubt it will resemble its original incarnation. we might be missing whole boards, who even knows if they'll remake /mlp/. this place is nice, and not abandoned by its admin. i think we could make a fresh start here. it's more active than the 8chan pony boards.

I heard you all mention you all have 3d printers. What equipment do you use? I have ventured into that world a couple years ago. I have a FDM and Resin printer since I couldn't decide which one I wanted more so I got both. A Uniformation GKTWO and a Elegoo neptune max 3. I printed more with the Neptune then the resin. It's pretty cool, I have a neat dragon I want to paint around here somewhere. Oh and I have this huge dragon project too. I can post pics of the smaller dragon. If you all are interested.

It was on this site that we decided to adopt the image of the Denver Broncos. I voted Carebears, but using cutie marks as emblems, but that was out voted, and with good reason I see in retrospect.

I can't take credit, I joined staff 2 weeks after the 1 year guy, I was just a very enthusiastic poster. Atlas used to do bi-monthly audio streams in those days, and most of the week had certain topical streams. Philosophy on monday (/ub/-related), tuesday was western animation (Boondocks, stuff like that), wed was /mlp/, and friday was movie night. This was back when rabb.it was a thing, and anyone could stream from a virtual Linux desktop
