2b2t(2 builders 2 tools) is the oldest anarchy server in minecraft that began in 2010 and is still up today. Its the second oldest server overall (minecraft.online is #1). The creator of the server is the username Hausemaster. Hausemaster first advertised his server on 4chan posts to get a playerbase going. The size of the server grew to be what many call a "digital 4chan". Edgy game chat, swastikas everywhere at spawn, greifers and hackers. Hausemaster decided that no-rules on a minecraft server will be an interesting experiment, so the theme of 2b2t was survival anarchy.

MC players have generally agreed that big servers on minecraft have always sucked. Theres a bunch of rules to read and follow, spawn protection, land claim, kits, pay-to-win and other shit to make it less fun. 2b2t has been on the same map ever since it started. The spawn completely ruined as shown in pic related due to no spawn protection. You have to travel thousands of blocks just to find trees or grass. You have no food and you'll be lucky if a player spares you some, theyll probably just kill you. This adds a challenge that most servers dont have. The map is even compromised of alpha chunks, beta chunks, and newer chunks, so once you travel out far enough theres bizzare terrain borders.

Not one player has ever been banned from 2b2t even though The server has been backdoord and hacked several times. About half the players end up basing alone because you cant really trust anyone. Players who do end up trusting create some of the greatest builds ever seen in survival minecraft, only to see them collapse after. Some bases can last up to 2 IRL years before they eventually get griefed. How do bases get griefed? Coordinates get leaked by accident or purpose, a member within the base betrays it because of basemate conflicts, or players just stumble upon your base and decide to wreck it.

The oldfags started a thing called "incursions" and the server has been through a total of 7. An incursion is where a bunch of geared up players meet at spawn to kill a bunch of "naked" players without armor, mostly newfags. On June 1st, 2016, a youtuber by the name of thecampingrusher uploaded a video about 2b2t that reached 2 million views, bringing in a massive amount of newfag kids to the server. Hausemaster had to eventually implimemt a queue for players to wait because the server was constantly full. This event was the 4th incursion. It did well to make players quit the server because they couldnt escape spawn, but that did not stop the player base from growing as many survived and became adapted. Hausemaster eventually created the subreddit r/2b2t and thats the only interaction he makes with the community now.

I personally first joined this server in 2014 but I was absent for a while and didnt participate in incursions. The culture of 2b2t changed as oldfags quit and newfags joined. This was not a imageboard website it was a digital block game of freedom and art. Now the culture it was founded on is lost and taken by normies. The only reason Hausemaster still runs the server is probably because all the shekels he makes from donations. Although its not a imageboard website like 4chan or mlpol the same reflection still follows. When the right has something good thats growing larger, it becomes corrputed by the left. I dont play 2b2t anymore but its still clear lesson of what really happens to good things when we're not careful.
