do it for le epin lel lels
>>14213The show has great values, great characters, and a fun high-fantasy universe. Besides, there is literally an episode where they take down a Marxist commune. Watch it
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2m6qg2 >>14213Ponies are cute and sexy. That's all you need. It's like I had innocence again tbh.
Just watch the first 2 episodes and see what you think.
The show teaches wholesome traditional values and the art style really pops
>>14213you are a faggot if you dont
>>14220Except the second episode isn't very good
okay ten minutes in:
voice acting is ok, art-style surprisingly pleasing to view
I don't like the fucking pink horse I want to beat that horse into a fucking pulp but the rest is okay
>>14232The biggest attraction to the show for me, aside from the lotus-eater-machine level of cuteness, and the surprisingly well written characters, is how the show has a morality to it contrary to what we normally see in modern television (children's or otherwise). It emphasizes culture, tradition, and interpersonal relationships. Here's a federalist article that lists some of the valuable message the show contains.
https://thefederalist.com/2017/04/17/4-positive-countercultural-messages-little-pony/>>14234That's Pinkie Pie. It's not uncommon for the writers to write her in such a way that she's annoying an immature. But in other episodes, especially the episodes that focus on her, she is a surprisingly compelling character
>>14235I still want to beat pink horse into glue
>>14235I do enjoy the order of their society, everyone has their role and they stick to it.
>>14213Because the fillies are cute. CUTE!
>>14235At some point in the future when I have kids, this show is one that I will show my daughter. It encourages good wholesome family values instead of Jewish mind poison.
>>14239>>14260To call Equestria a Nation Socialist utopia would be an exaggeration, but not by much. Whereas most modern shows base their morality around leftist french-existentialism (asserting individual identity against tradition and group values), neomarxism (opposing racism and class-based oppression), or a diluted for of American liberalism ("freedom!" but not well done), My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has values that most closely ressemble Alasdair MyIntyre's Communitarian philosophy.
For example, in the Season 1 episode "Winter Wrap Up" the whole town comes together to clean up the winter weather and bring in Spring without the use of magic. When Twilight - who is clearly the central character in the first season - points out that weather changes are most easily brought about by magic, she is told that the Town does not use magic because of a tradition dating back to the founding of the town by Earth Ponies, who cannot use magic. Out of respect for tradition, she accepts, and spends the episode trying to determine what role she can play in the community when her greatest talent is barred from use - she ultimately finds her organizational skills best used in management.
If that episode were a Disney movie, Twilight would have spent the entire episode rebelling against the tradition because what works for the whole town doesn't work for her - a morality taken from french existentialism. But instead the show emphasizes both the importance of tradition in making an individual feel like part of a larger whole, and of taking roles within the community that give identity and meaning to the individual, that also serve the community as a whole.
The show also amazingly shows a society where individuals are clearly not equal to one another - even without magic twilight is a superior leader - but every individual is satisfied with the role they play and no one has contempt for anyone else.
I wanna watch this show to get in with the community we have here, but I share netflix and hulu with my parents…
Does anyone know of a good medium I can watch it on?
>>14260Be sure to watch several more episodes before you determine it's not your thing. Not everyone is hooked on the first two episodes they watch, even among those who come to love it
>>14347I think you misunderstand. I like the show. I've started watching it the past week and I'm mostly through season 2 at the moment. I was just saying that it's a show that I approve of that I hope to show my daughter some day. Most of the stuff on TV these days is just garbage that I don't want poisoning a young impressionable mind.
>>14213I'll make it REAL easy. START with "the Tirek Fight"
>>14367I see I confused you with another user. This thread is American flag heavy
>>14213It is good and worth it, you will be pleasantly surprised.
>>14377Daily reminder that you can colorize IDs in the options at the top right
>>14414Thank you. That should be the default setting.
>>14426I'll talk to pineapple about it
I don't have time to convince you.
Yet I have a question, I can either work as an it guy for.myself or become a manwhore, what should I do?
>>14537Whore yourself out my man.
>>14540I mean I could make some good money out of that, yet I'm scared that may ruin sex for me
>>14550So specialize yourself into something outlandish and bizarre. Surely that'll keep you interested for a good deal of time.
>>14552You may be right.
I'll become the best milkshake tosser.
op here
the show was okay considering watching more but is the pink horse in every episode?
>>14875no, but pinkie is part of the mane 6 so shes in most.
>>14875She's not in literally every episode, but she's in a clear majority. I swear she's less annoying in many of them
>>14875Pinkie can be obnoxious, but I'm two seasons in and my opinion of her is that she's not always so heavy handedly annoying as in the first few episodes. Maybe I'm just getting acclimated to her though.
In the first few episodes they were trying hard to define her character, and from then on she's mostly just annoying in episodes that center around her, but she's more bearable in the majority of episodes where she plays a more minor role.
This fucker though? FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Get the fucking gas. Fucking hell. I've only seen her have a speaking role once, but her appearance triggers an instinctive urge to purge.
>>14902why does horse look Semitic
>>14904Now you understood our hatred for her.
>>14902I've never seen a more Jewish-looking horse.
>>14537Be my manwhore, I'll treat you well. My bed is empty and I sleep alone and cold, maybe we can warm each other up?
