Italian Elections

The Italian elections happened today, with final results being counted soon

The election appears to have resulted in a hung parliament, with right-wing nationalist parties having performed well, but not so well as to take control of government
>if [the exit polls] prove correct, the center-right coalition brokered by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will have the most seats in parliament. Final results are expected at 2 p.m. Italian time on Monday.
>The anti-establishment, populist [leftist-anarchist, euro-skeptic] Five Star Movement has polled the highest, with between 29% and 32% of the vote, according to the television station RaiNews24.
>In second place in terms of party strength, with estimates from 20.5%-23.5%, is the ruling Democratic Party.
>Berlusconi's party, Forza Italia, received between 13% and 16%; the xenophobic and populist League, formerly known as the Northern League, also received 13% to 16%. This would give the center-right coalition brokered by Berlusconi the most votes, including votes for the smaller Brothers of Italy Party, which is also in the coalition

Immigration and the economy remain the top issues

It gave us this great article title from the Guardian, "Why the Italian left looks doomed in this weekend’s elections"
>the left is not strong enough to provide representation for a working class that no longer identifies itself as such, feels threatened by mass migration, and perceives a growing gap between itself and the elite
>For so long a beacon for the left elsewhere in Europe, the Italian left is struggling to present anything resembling a popular response to the social and economic crises of the early 21st century

As long as that center-right coalition doesn't screw up and they continue to work for the people of Italia, their popularity will grow to the point that they might become dominant.

What will the consequences of this election be? I unfortunately know little about Italian politics.

The consequences are larger. Some of the larger parties want to remove Kebabs and some distance themselves from the Euro. In fact, the election has already hurt the Euro since the right wing has likely taken a plurality. Sadly they need to have a 40% majority if they want to hold a coalition which looks like it will not happen since the wring wing coalition has a 37% coming out of the results.

>Italian elections: Early results indicate hung parliament and no clear winner as centre-right coalition leads vote
>Negotiations to form coalition government likely to prove complex and arduous after inconclusive outcome on bad night for scandal-hit former PM Silvio Berlusconi
>Preliminary results released by Italy's interior ministry show the centre-right coalition winning about 37 per cent of the parliamentary vote and the 5-Star Movement getting about 31 per cent, with the centre-left coalition far behind with 23 per cent.
>With no faction winning a clear majority, the results early on Monday confirm that negotiations to form a government that can win a confidence vote in Parliament will likely be long and fraught.

I really hope the right comes together and makes Italy based and great

I love it when leftists get confused. Italy's first black senator is a far-right anti-immigration immigrant.

(If you read the article, he's actually just anti-migrant and wants to deport them because he wants all immigrants to come to Italy legally like he did on a merit-based immigration policy, which is apparently a far-right position these days. But of course, leftists make no distinction between legal and illegal immigration.)

The nog basically just wants other immigrants to go through the same legal steps to migrate that his family had to.
Leftards fail to realize that their disregard for rule of law is unfair to those who migrate legally.

I don't like it when people use racial slurs against smart people, but especially against Nigerians. They have some genius genes floating around, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Emeagwali, and Nigerian-Americans have a higher average income than Whites (meaning they're actually productive, smart citizens).
