When Cozy Glow ridded the land of all magic, she was unintentionally changing society for the better. Without magic as a crutch, they could get stronger and healthier to survive the coming wars after equestria was infiltrated by the school creatures
Also it would better match the Bible, which actually forbids >magic
>divination (remember the scene where twilight drank the zecora potion and had a vision?)
>spiritism (the wendigos, the tree when it started conversing with them)
>casting spells
Golly wanted power and was using witchcraft to fight witchcraft though, which is not the right way to go about it. The passage forbidding magic says to be blameless, and Jesus said similarly to be perfect as God the Father is perfect. So to fight witchcraft, you only need to repent of practicing witchcraft and refuse to participate further.
So, my question is, for those who believe in Jesus and follow Him, why should we keep watching the show which is centered on magic?
on judgement day, even though we will be forgiven for it, won't it feel strange to look Jesus in the eyes and have to explain why we loved fictional things that practice magic, which is in direct opposition to Him? Why would a Christian hoard merch depicting satanic symbols, or collect books that tell stories about worshiping false gods or idols? Similarly, why would Christians watch shows centered on promiscuous sex or other sins?
With MLP specifically they cast spells in pretty much every episode, and their solution to every major problem is magic. These actions are abhorrent to God. These spiritual sins are described like committing adultery against God.
So again I ask, if you were married, would you like your wife to watch a show about another man, and then she buys merch of it and spends her life adoring the other man from the show? Wouldn't it feel weird if you asked her to not be with another man, but she started wearing shirts depicting committing adultery with that man on the shirt?
Aren't we doing this to God when we love things that are sin?
Deuteronomy 18:9-14
"When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so."
Matthew 5:48
"Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
For all of us, Jesus said unless we repent, we will all perish. And unless we believe in Him, we will die in our sins. But whoever believes in Him will live even if he dies.
