Christianity is not entirely without its merits, but OP has the wrong idea about it. Giving up something that brings you joy and isn't harming you, like MLP, just because of some moronic ultra-literal interpretation of scripture is just fucking stupid. The Bible is all well and good, but I personally wish more people on the right would also read Julius Evola, and to a slightly lesser extent Nietzsche and Stirner. All of those guys take a dim view of Christianity itself, but Christians could still get something out of the core ideas. Namely, that in a world where social institutions, including religion, have lost most or all of their authenticity and potency, in other words in "the world where God is dead," the only viable path forward is to develop your own inner orientation and live by it. Once you have that you can determine the best course of action on your own, and can accept or reject ideas as you see fit. Whether or not that involves worshipping a particular god or following a particular set of religious precepts doesn't matter and will vary from person to person.

Taking on the kind of extreme, monastic life OP is suggesting here could potentially have value if used as a tool to develop inner discipline and self-control. However, just blindly following instructions to the letter because they're in the Bible somewhere won't accomplish anything. Depending on how you interpret them, it could even be hilariously, tragically destructive.

My main criticism of Christianity is its reliance on dualism and universal acceptance of its doctrines. Pretty much what you're saying here: "There's good and there's evil, there's following God and not following God, there's heaven and hell, nothing in between." Not only is this way of thinking narrow-minded and stupid, it usually fails because it tries to redefine reality according to its own symbolism, instead of using symbolism as a means of representing reality as most traditional non-Abrahamic religions do. Imo Christianity has the same fatal flaw as liberalism and communism. Instead of dealing with life and reality as they are, it focuses on a theoretical, idealized utopia that doesn't exist now but will exist at some point, but only if everyone submits themselves to its precepts. Instead of evaluating good and evil on the basis of the real results produced by a given action, it defines "good" as obedience to a set of written rules, which have to be followed even if they make no sense and produce no good results. The only notable difference is that for communists and liberals their utopias are something that they believe will be eventually achieved on Earth at some undefined point in the future, whereas for Christians the Kingdom of God exists in some magical ether-space that can only be entered after death, and even then you can only get in if you've followed all the correct rules and properly apologized for breaking the ones you didn't follow.

The problem with all of this, again, is that it sidelines reality in favor of an idealized, future utopia. Your posts are peppered with this kind of thinking:
