I kept it as a surprise gift for the board, but this year I think it's better to do things differently. Let's work on our second anniversary collectively and pump out a fantastic video representing us. Feel free to contribute what you want to be said, but don't get too ambitious because a longer video costs more.
It's worth considering whether we want to hire Voiceover Pete instead, as his popularity is much more current and we'd get a lot more newcomers. I'd expect he'd charge more though and I'm not sure if it's possible to commission a video from him.
The reason it's two months early is because we should have a full month to come up with something then I can order it a month in advance.
>>202219 >Feel free to contribute what you want to be said We should promote this board as some kind of "The fringest of the fringe"; you know, something appealing to refugees.
>>202219 "Attention, all /mlpol/ posters: Aryanne is in trouble, and she needs your help to kill all the griffons and zebras in Equestria! To do this, she needs some Zyklon B and a couple of MG42s. To help her, all she needs is your credit card, the 3 digits on the back, and the month and date of expiration."
>>204264 The easiest thing you can do is make pony flavored redpilled infographics. That way, when its banned, it will look silly because of said ponies and its silly enough to remain in the reader's mind.
>>204295 >>204298 I love that idea, but we should dress it up so it sounds like something from the show rather than a simple word substitution. That way it sounds relatively innocent or ridiculous but the more clever viewers will pick up on it and get a sensible chuckle.
>>206217 should we reference "gamers"? It might be a dead meme at this point.
How about just doing the origin story? >problematic, toxic >needs to go >can't just delete, they'd each flood all over our home >they need to leave >we have them locked down, one can't post OC, the other is force-fed BBC >it isn't enough >they're opposites, each isolated, but when brought together, they'll destroy eachother. >OH GOD WHAT HAVE WE CREATED >queue Preußens Gloria & cute poners
>>206260 "Gamers rise up" is a dead meme, but we could do something creative with it and make something new.
>origin story Considering that Pete is a vocal critic of censorship, that is a capital idea. We should emphasis our site as a place where "cuteness and edginess can live side by side" or something like that. Also, while he's talking about the "locked down" part he could show two images, Anonfilly as the symbol of OC (in particular that picture labeled as a "hate symbol" in Sweden with the prohibition sign superimposed) and the logo of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).
>Attention all /pol/acks and bronies: your continued existence hinges on each other. It is no longer enough to subsist on your own corners of the internet. To avoid eventual strangulation from censorship you must do the impossible and team up with the power of friendship and weaponized autism.
>To this end I declare a solution which exists. My Little Politics is now embarking on its third year after an unlikely fusion from an April Fool’s joke gone wrong (gone violent) (gone sexual)(in the hood). Up to that day in 2017, /mlp/ was becoming increasingly restrictive in what OC anons could post while /pol/ was force-fed the BBC by unrepentant shills. However, their fusion quickly grew to eternal friendship as /mlp/ returned to a spirit of freedom while technicolor ponies cast out Reddit from /pol/’s midst. [Preußens Gloria] Now an off-site platform, /mlpol/ has provided a haven for unrestricted debate as well as a venue for the finest horse show in the world. The combination of both serves to drive away shills who derail discussion and the usual sort of soyboys who sully the fandoms of even wholesome shows, enabling a glimpse of how 4Chan was in its heyday.
>So if you dare come to /mlpol/ and banish the blackpill as you discover the magic of friendship! Say no to bots and glow-in-the-dark alphabet agencies and yes to Rainbow Dash and John Elway. Know that the Denver Broncos are themselves Football, and John Elway is the Denver Broncos.
>And let it be known that Applejack is the purest 2D waifu and must be saved from amateur writing hacks who want to drag her character through the mud. We will not stand for that. The fandom lives!

(I don't know about the last paragraph, but I can't think of how to modify it off hand)
>>206996 Voiceover Pete doesn't like swearing, so I'd make it "Horsefriends" or something. >>206997 >We must secure the existence of our friendships and a board for cute ponies. Nuking Griffonstone does not violate the NAP!

I already like it much more, though we need to keep revising and polishing it. The monologue is a bit stilted and takes too long to get the point. If you compare it to the first anniversary video, that was shorter but was densely packed with memes and ponywhistles.
Also, besides the script we need to work on several things, including the background picture/greenscreen, foreground pictures, music and special gimmicks if any. I'll watch more VOP videos tomorrow to see tends to work.
Also, for comparison here is the script that was used for the Big Man Tyrone video:
>[Bright smile] “Hi there subscribers, viewers, internet friends, cheeky scrubs, and fellow Kekistanis! Big Man Tyrone here, to wish you a Happy Easter and make an important announcement! Today marks the one-year anniversary of ‘My Little Politics,’ the most autistic image board on the web. One year ago on April first, the 4Chan boards /pol/ and /mlp/ were merged [here, clasp your hands briefly] into a union that banished all the shills and bots to whence they came! 4Chan was lulled for several days as two brands of autism found common bonds and merged into something greater. This has been kept alive up to now as an independent board.
>[Inquisitive and point toward camera] “Are you glum from being blackpilled about this depressing world? Are you tired of your favorite shows being ruined by social justice warriors? Are you an outcast for your political leanings or your choice of media and just want to hang out with people of similar interests? /MLPOL/ [pronounced M-L-Pol] is the haven for you! Combine the magic of friendship with the discussion of classic /pol/ and you get paradise! My Little Pony is, after all, the most based and wholesome of cartoons.
>“So come hang out with Aryanne, Leslie Faire, Epona, and all the rest! [Authoritative tone] We shall march beneath the alicorns’ wings and crush the shills beneath the jackboot of friendship. Anonfilly did nothing wrong! The griffons will not replace us! Save the Apple Horse! [short laugh if you’d like]
>[wave] “Ciao!”
As you can see, body language instruction and clarification of important details is key to a good script.
>>202413 >>207203 Any idea for how to include it? As much as I love it, it may be a bit too spicy when we'll be dropping hints already. Of course, if there's enough demand I'll ask Pete to include it but I doubt he'll accept.
Another year almost. I am stoked you poners are doing well. I believe you will get an influx of traffic To this board because of the high level of wonderful posts made by loving and caring mlponons. >and of course 4chan is dead.again.maybe. Any who White Jesus the Jew Killer loves his pony FRENZ!
I like this revision. I believe that the "classical music" in the beginning should be Evening Star's Equestria Anthem [instrumental]; an alternative is "For a United Equestria" by Carbon Maestro. I'll of course contact the composers for permission first. Which is better or should I go with a different option?
I still need to insert gestures and directions and I'll try to put the order in by this weekend. Lemme know what you think.
[Classical music in the background while Ponyville is in the background]>Attention all /pol/acks and horselovers: your survival depends on friendship. Being isolated leaves you open to strangulation from censorship and the nefarious designs of gookmoot. Therefore you must team up and combine your powers of weaponized autism.
>The way forward is obvious and already exists. My Little Politics is the unearthly combination resulting from a 2017 April Fool's prank gone wrong (gone violent) (gone sexual) (in the hood) (praise Football). >/mlpol/ has endured as an offsite platform where the rights to ponies and free discussion will not be infringed. The merger of both drives away both hostile agents and soyboys who sully the fandoms of the wholesomest of shows, keeping the site fun. "fun allowed" Pinkie meme
>Banish the blackpill and discover the magic of friendship by coming to /mlpol/, but be warned, you're here forever. You'll learn about how nuking Griffonstone does not violate the NAP and how we must secure the existence of our friendships and a board for cute ponies. >Say goodbye to bots and glow-in-the-dark alphabet agencies and say hello to Rainbow Dash and John Elway. Know that the Denver Broncos are themselves Football, and John Elway is the Denver Broncos. Praise Football, Praise American![salute]
>>207574 Both instrumentals work nicely. I am not sure what is best "For a United Equestria" feels fresher because I haven't listen to that one as much as Evening Star's Equestria Anthem. But they both have their strengths (crescendos) throughout the text, so it is a had choice.
>>207574 I personally prefer "For a United Equestria" but both are nice. There are some slight changes I'd like to suggest for the script, like changing "gookmoot" to something a little more... uh... subtle and changing the spelling of NAP to N.A.P or adding a note in the script to make sure he knows how to pronounce it, also maybe put one or two pictures in the last two paragraphs.
>[“For a United Equestria” plays while Ponyville is in the background. Pete does his signature opening]Attention all /pol/acks and horselovers: your survival depends on friendship. [Hold his hands apart]Being isolated leaves you open to strangulation from censorship and the nefarious designs of Numoot [pronounced “new Moot”]. [He clasps his hands together above him Kruschev-style]Therefore you must team up and combine your powers of weaponized autism.

[Explanation mode, body language as appropriate] On that fateful day two years ago, /mlp/ was liberated from the arbitrary diktats of mods and janitors [picture of Anonfilly appears in upper left corner with a prohibition sign converging on it with a “jail door slam” sound] while /pol/ no longer had to worry about unrepentant shills and tireless bots pushing the BBC [BBC logo in upper right corner]. [voice raised]We are a fandom of peace![fin]
Let me know how this is. If it's fine then I'll order the video tomorrow.
Embarrassingly, I don't have any pictures of the /mlpol/ logo without a swastika. Does someone have a version that won't get Pete's channel shoah'd? Also, this is the gesture I'm referring to. I thought Krushchev did it but apparently it was Reagan. This is the "Do It For Her" version I was considering. Also, Twilight's and Rarity's pictures looked off, so these will be better.
>>207874 >I don't have any pictures of the /mlpol/ logo without a swastika Does this Leslie version work? If it doesn't I can try making one with AJ, Anon Filly, or a pony of your choice later today.
>>207934 I think there is an original out there in high res vector but I could not find it, and I might remember wrong. >my little attempt to edit the image
I feel retarded for not actually checking before, but Voiceover Pete no longer uploads any promotional videos on his channel for "legal reasons." It was extremely naive given that if he uploaded videos upon purchase his channel would be even more clustered than BMT's. Considering that the whole purpose was for publicity, that puts us in a bit of a hitch.
>inb4 he Jewed me 1)I should have been more perceptive and 2) it's clear that it's out of his control; if he wanted more money for an upload he would have asked for it, but if he's stopped by legality there's nothing he can do. I am glad, however, that he agreed to act autistically on camera at all, and we did get a smashing good video out of it. Given a certain event in the last 24 hours, I'm glad I commissioned the video early as he may not want to be associated with anything /pol/-related right about now; if I had somehow got him to put it on his upload schedule previously I would now expect him to want to cancel the order for publicity reasons.
Anyway, that's half the project done with and there's just the matter of spreading it. Here's the final product for you to use as you wish:
