Are we getting new users?
>>174751Looks like we usually gain on average but summer and winter we have some losses. But how homepage actually calculates this is questionable.
Maybe we need a welcome newbie thread to actually see them arrive?
>>174760Maybe we need a fishing thread.
>>174759Welcome! How did you hear about us?
>>174760That's not a bad idea, actually. You want to bake, or should I?
>>174759Welcome! Remember, check the policy page at
https://mlpol.net/policy.html and lurk a little to get acquainted with the site's culture.
>>174761My guess would be the /pol/eague.
>tfw that's how I was introduced >>174762>That's not a bad idea, actually. You want to bake, or should I?You can.
>My guess would be the /pol/eague.Maybe that's our seasonal?
What are the dates of all those events? I don't follow them.
>>174764>You can.Gimme a minute, then.
>Maybe that's our seasonal?>What are the dates of all those events? There aren't any specifically set. It generally happens sometime after the Elite Cups finish.
/pol/eague 1 took place between July 8-9 in 2017. /pol/eague 2 took place between January 5th-8th this yeah. And /pol/eague 3 just finished.
>>174761>Welcome! How did you hear about us?First time was when you raided fullchan /pol/
Then I lurked here a couple of weeks.
And now I returned after a rogue fag raided /patriotsawoken/
I have to admit, ponies are cute.

>>174767They're adorable! Welcome!
>>174847
So then how do we fix this, oh mighty "interpreter-of-the-numbers"?
>>174848Graph is wrong, those dates make no sense. Deleting and looking for the error.
I suspect Winter stops people sitting at a desktop computer. And Summer has people leaving a desktop computer off. Solution is to have a phone/tablet friendly app/website.
This is a chart of new users averaged over 56 days. 28 days each side. The bottom scale is days since 2017-08-21. We lose people the most at about 75 days and a few about 325 days after that date.
Early November most losses (+75 days)
Mid July small losses (+325 days)
And we get less new people as the year rolls on but don't lose people.
Best I can do with limited knowledge of R programming. Matches
>>174760 visually for those dips.
>>174849I've been using the regular site on my phone since it started with little problems, works fine for me.
>>174887Agreed. We gain a spike of users in January and biggest loss in Nov. That has nothing to do with summer.
Nov must be exams and socialising?
July must be (the last of) school holidays.
Which means it is nothing to do with our site.
