Didn't think my 'prediction' from that news thread would resurface again. Shit, maybe I should get into the business of predicting the future.
Anyways, I find it very funny that you'd mention quality posting as a deterrent, because my experiences on /mlpol/, even recently, have been quite the opposite: posters here react very positively to quality content, just not
your content. And there's a very good reason for that. One of old-/mlpol/'s biggest mainstays was the union of the two boards, yes, but there was another force driving the initial merger's momentum, too:
original content. It was one of the major things both /pol/ and /mlp/ shared in common: hewing fresh, original ideas from gray matter, into PNGs and WebM's alike. And while /pol/'s fire for this went out the moment Reddit swarmed in, /mlp/'s did not, and this can tell us several things.
Let's take your jab at Anonfilly as a little example. We imported them here many months ago, and to this day, they continue going strong. Do you want to know the secret to their success, why their endless permutations of the same concept stays decently fresh? Because they're being
original about it. And that's just a microcosm of MLP as a whole: /mlp/, FIMFic, even shitholes like Ponychan continue to retain users and interest for one, specific reason:
original content.Now, let's look at
your posts for contrast, shall we? Oh, a wall of text copypasted directly from links you stick at the end, sometimes with an oh-so-witty quip at the end. Ooh, and then there's the wall of text copypasted directly from links you stick at the end, sometimes with an oh-so-witty quip at the end. Aha, and who could possibly forget about the pièce de résistance, your walls of text copypasted directly from links you stick at the end, sometimes with an oh-so-witty quip at the end! Oh, but that's your side project, right! Then we have cycle posting, and cycle posting, and cycle posting, and, uh, more cycle posting, but hey, you shake it up a little with some cycle posting!
If I haven't been facetious enough, the answer here should be obvious: what you are posting is not, cannot be, and will never be original content. Your 'contributions' to the board are stale and meaningless. It is not a coincidence that the majority of your 'quality posts' reside in three major generals, two of which were created by you, and have at least half the total posts made by your ID. With that in mind, and your continued refusal to change your own content, instead fixating on changing the entire site's palate, is it any wonder why you chimp out on a weekly basis, just like this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n_1zsCVBxwYou know what the most tragic part of all this is? You're completely capable of creating original, quality content. I remember reading the first few posts of the Q thread, and through all the cycle posting, there was some real, honest-to-god discussion happening: original content, in the style of /pol/ of old! I really thought you'd figured out a good, fresh new formula to work off of! Imagine my disappointment, when it turned into yet another copypaste general, thanks in no small part to your failure to continue the discussion, and fall back onto the familiar.
But who am I kidding, writing all this up? Even if you do read this - and you will - you won't change a thing. You'll continue posting the same trite garbage, punctuate it with a weekly chimpout, and maybe once a month, try to convince people you haven't completely given up on the site with a monthly original post, if even that. Cue the sycophant army you've amassed from your generals standing up for their senpai. So the wheel turns. 'I'm the only one looking forward', give me a fucking break.
