How about posting the best fanfics and PMVs?
MLP rewatch, we all get together and watch MLPFIM, starting with S1. Everyone pretends we're seeing this for the first time and this is a new show and there is no season 8 with shitty diversity gommie bullshit. We pretend that new shit hasn't been released or made yet. A new episode is "Released" each week, and we all get together and discuss the episode and everything about it for the next week.
Newfags are alright but they weren't there for how awesome it was during the first few years. So many people speculating on Equestria, where the characters would go, what the world would be like, it was so full of excited, innocent wonder.
There's a minor rp element in this so it might be best suited to a new side-board, so the posters won't get "Spoiled" or whatever. A nice window to the past of the brony fandom, and what it was before discussing a great show became arguing with hasdrones over whether you're allowed to miss a great show or not.
>>135903That could be good. Separate from the weekly MLP rewatch, we all get together and read fanfics together and discuss them. Some of the "Best ones ever", some rising stars, some new ones we made and want feedback on, it could be nice.
>>135902People verity. The question is more of what is the tone that lured people to /mlpol/ is more of how I see it. Most people liked /mlpol/ in my mind because it was a /comfy/ board where /pol/ and /mlp/ both are very hostile because of how they ended up. Because of this tone I think funposting fits the best honestly. So projects and fun things are the most successful on the board and I'd suggest you all post more.
Thats not to say politics and discussing the show shouldn't be encouraged but I've found most come here for the lighthearted autism and funposting.
I want to see /mlpol/ replace 8/pol/... it would be an improvement as well as highly amusing.
I would also like to see an attempt to create a new religion that puts the image of mlp onto the foundation of Esoteric Hitlerism, under Kek, to bring forth the Kalki, for Hitler, the volk, and apparently to make Equestria real in a small nice section of South Africa, where it is meant to be. (zebra-creature is on the borderlands, so where else you find zebra?)
>>135963>new esoteric religionHave you heard of Epona and/or John Elway?
I mostly want political debates and news. OC is always nice too.
Dedicated thread for the cuck chan 'April Fools Day' '(Joke)'
I'd like to see if we could rope some greentexts and stories out of the anons here. They're the only things keeping me anchored to /mlp/, and Fimfic to a lesser degree.
>>136011This. The Anonfilly thread is great but it's a little constricting in topic. A thread for other greentexts would be fine.
>>135902I say this place is really comfy like it is
I mean, more users is always good and new ideas too, but that comes on its own, let it flow and anons will do their thing.
>>135904This.
I want to re-experience the first few years again, they were too good.
And with the Unspoil me thing, if it works like they say it does, this could become a reality, not just a pretend larp.
http://www.samsung.com/se/unspoilme/eng/?CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000279 I would like to see some political activism. Maybe we could do something for the South Africans.
>>136012one of the AF writers here, not saying who, but I've had a few ideas rattling around that might work pretty well. I'll give an overview if you like, but other than that, I've still got to finish my current story first.
I thought about something that might be funny.
A thread where we pretend to be (((them))).
Imagine we would be them. What would be your goals? How would you try to archieve them? What would you do to archieve them? What skills would you need?
>>135902I love me some good green.
>>135904I like this.
>>135977I want to hear things I don't know. Things that really make you think.
>>136011This.
>>136157Don't want to be a neighsayer but anything past awareness is really hard to archieve unless it is on /üb/
>>136157Definitely
not this.
Chans doing political activism has always ended badly, see Chanology for a prime example.
We should stick to indirectly influencing events, and getting people informed and redpilled, at least for the forseeable future. If activism must be done, it should be as discreet as humanly possible.
>>136161This, or it should not be attributed to us.
>>135975Are you saying someone hasn't heard of John Elway? Because I'm going to tell you about John Elway, Lord and Savior of footballs.
The main thing you should really know about John Elway is that John Elway is football. John Elway is all football, John Elway is the Denver Broncos and the Denver Broncos are the football for all eternity. If you were John Elway you know what you would do? Nothing, because you could never be John Elway you double nigger.
Long, long ago, in the days when the Universe was empty and there was no John Elway, the people were without direction and hope, for there was no football and no Denver Broncos. But then, lo, the angel Gabriel appeared, and said to them: be not afraid, for I bring unto you tidings of great football, which shall be for all people. For today in the city of Denver is born unto you a savior, he is John Elway. Praise Jesus and Praise American.
Amen,
Football.
>>136157We could come up with some memes or ideas for it, but post them on regular /pol/. That place is already a magnet for (((shills))), and they can have it for all I care. No one but reddit bots go there now, anyway. Ergo, if you want to make memes, put them on the discord, and then post them to /pol/, and keep everyone as far away from this board with that crap as possible.
>>135904I like the re-watch idea. It's always fun to watch things with anons.
>>136011Greentexts are also fun, but I am not a fan of anon in Equestria style stories...
Change my mind?
>>136381Alright, I'll bite.
What is it that you don't like about them?
>>135935>funpostingThat is something that's necessary for /mlpol/ to work. Right now the main board is kind of dull.
>>135963I like it but fuck SA, that is not white man territory. Believe me it would be best for it to be but whites belong in snowy green forest and farm lands. I vote for New England, the Yukon and Pacific North West.
I'm here for political debate with pony reaction images.
>>136951We do technically have the /sp/ board for those
>>136951>>136953Funposting is allowed you know. Besides, it's not like anyone else is making threads...
>>136465Fuck yourself. South Africa has been settled by Boers for over five hundred fucking years.
>>136953Yes and they should be on the /sp/ board. That's why the board was made.
>>136954Sure it's allowed, but I would prefer higher quality threads on /mlpol/ you have /sp/ for fun posting. Why not just use that board?
>>136954I would love to make a thread, but I don't got the time to dedicate to a thread.
>romanticallyapocalyptic.com>asgardia.spaceAnd
>Firefox realityWould be interesting threads I think.
>>136969Look, I'm just worried about the quality of the board. It's already a hard sale to convince /pol/locks to use this place as a bunker. When people see threads like those they won't want to stay.
>>136951>>136972>one of the threads he dislikes has over 300 postsWell apparently a lot of people like what you dislike.
Also if you are worried about the board quality remove anonfilly.
>>136976We could do what leftypol does and make a designated shit posting thread. You could still post low quality crap on the main board without it taking up space on the catalog.
>>136972There is nothing wrong with a little fun posting to lighten the mood. I can understand the concern about rampant shitposting, especially considering the state of current /mlp/, but it's the mods' jobs to keep that in check. I used to enjoy /mlp/ when it actually had fun threads and produced content rather than endless bumps, "lol I posted Glimmer again" spam, and autistic "NO U" arguments labeled as discussions.
>>136978>We could do what leftypol does Anon do you need to tell us something?
>>136979>but it's the mods' jobs to keep that in checkNo, its our job to not be fucking idiots and the mods job to keep us safe from the outside.
>>136979and considering the state of /pol/.
>>136981>Anon do you need to tell us something?Yes I fuck with leftypol. Sue me.
>>136982>Sue me.Consider yourself sued for not getting confirmed kills.
:^) >>136951i mostly agree with this list of low quality threads, maybe except the confession thread and adding this one
>>136347 →The whole board is kind of in a poor state before and after the tyrone promotion videos.
The number of traffic heavy threads is overall low with too many off topic/trolling threads spinkled in. I think this is in part due to new users trying to post new content, but overall i would say the board quality in general has been in decline ever since glimmernigger gate and the ERP circlejerk who has been leeching traffic of the mainboard since its insurrection.
The whole site could use an overhaul with a removal/refusion of low traffic boards back into into the main section.
>>136981You haven't seen our mods in action before, have you?
>>136972Part of what makes this unholy union of boards function is the symbiotic yin-yang relationship of fun, creative spontaneity, and dark reality checks. You'll find that many /pol/acks report feeling significantly less blackpilled, after exposure to the cute little cartoon horses.
That spontaneous fun factor requires the spontaneity to not be impeded. If that means some shitposting on the front page, then HI ANON!
>>136981I'd argue that protecting against outside threats and keeping the board clean go kind of hand in hand as most of the low quality threads are most likely from newfags or shitposters trying to raid.
>>136984>The whole site could use an overhaul with a removal/refusion of low traffic boards back into into the main section. Not sure how removing other boards would help this situation. Wasn't /sp/ created to contain shit posting?
>>136978Fuck that. Unless the shitposting gets out of control leave things be. If it is not broke don't fix it.
>>136984>The whole site could use an overhaul with a removal/refusion of low traffic boards back into into the main section. This, funposting aside, I'd like for /ub/ threads to come back onto the main board since self improvement has always been a good /pol/ topic we've had. Also the board is dead as fuck.
>>136986I understand some of your concerns especially with the newer threads. But I'll point out that 2 of the threads have been up for months, and have not cycled threw the catalogue in the given time, so we have had a problem with having interesting threads which has made anons resort to funposting due to a lack of things to do. The best solution for this isn't MODS DELETE! Its making new threads that are actually interesting. If you want the /pol/ side of things to have something to do news threads is not it, make a few argument or ideology threads lad.
>>136985>You haven't seen our mods in action before, have you?Nope been here since week 1. Mods funposting is fine, but I dislike the idea of how much we want them to solve all our problems. This is our problem primarily for not having a lot of content which has gotten a lot of anons board even before the video was made is my point.
>>136989Don't forget that all of the mods
at least to my knowledge were former /pol/ and /mlp/ veterans, who know full well what shitty, disconnected moderation looks like.
Frankly, if we ever get to the point where the staff stops working with us, and instead work separate from us, we've got bigger problems than refugee and newfag influxes.
Have a little faith, will ya?
>>136990Well, that frankly isn't my problem. My problem is that the more users become dependent on the mods the worse the users get. So we need to have volunteerism, knowing how bad /pol/ and /mlp/ have gotten we need to fail from time to time and have shitty threads once in a while to remind us why we left. If we get a huge surge of newfags, sure because then they are invaders, but otherwise I say its necessary to not become dependent on them.
>>136991Are you trying to suggest that people intentionally make low quality threads to encourage better content as a sort of "You could have prevented this"? I'm all for fun posting, but this would only kill the board faster.
>>136995>trying to suggest that people intentionally make low quality threads to encourage better content No, what happens is as follows
>Normal high quality threads>Anons get board/threads reach bump and fall off catalogue>Anons are board they make shitty threads>Anons dislike shitty threads and complain>More anons make good quality threads>rinse repeatTrying to moderate the cycle normally keeps anons on internal boredom which leads to continuous shit threads or leads to the death of it all.
>>137001>Tell that to /mlp/./mlp/ and /mlpol/ are different in that /mlp/ is a board for a fandom, and /mlpol/ is a board for a fandom and a subject matter. So /mlp/ has to wait to be not bored. Sure there are a few small scale projects here and there but for the most part they have to wait for new stuff to be able to talk about new stuff otherwise it falls into shitposting and generals.
/pol/ doens't have this problem
its always HAPPENING, and so we don't either.
>>137001The /mlp/ moderation actively works against the board. Remeber nasa pone? What about Anonfilly? Even if you didn't like these threads, many seemed to enjoy them. They were considered quality and the mods fucked with them.
>>136984If you ever quit being sour and paid attention, you'd realize that the E element has been removed from that equation, and that the RP thread is now far tamer than the Anonfilly threads,....
>>137003/mlp/ moderation is designed to kill the board.
>>136997Shitposting is still shitposting. If you're board and there's absolutely nothing that catches your interest, you should at least make a thread that can have some level of engagement and be enjoyed by others rather than some quick bait to see how many replies you can get. If you want to make a shitty thread "because you're bored", go to /mlp/ or /pol/.
Some more threads on geopolitics would be nice.
>>137006I'm not arguing in favor of it anon, I'm just saying it'll happen, and we have two options on how to move forward with it, either accept its a sign that we as the users are being shits and need to make more stuff, or scream for the mods to fix it.
>>137298This.
>>135902We need more human mane six.
A word from our ideological thought leader James William Tristan.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=598jD2HCzaABehold O Sullivans law.It is in MLPOL's best best interest of self-preservation to keep all non-right leaning content out of the community with an ironclad fist. Lest we become what we hate and succumb to a swamp of ideological corruption.
No loods. Everyone must be as prude and as miserable as I am
>>137384Yeah but faggots will call you a snowflake and say that you're creating a safe space
>>137431>Leftists calling people snowflakesIts almost as if these soygoys are behind the time and trying to look cool. Also they can come here and post shit just fine, but we will drive them out because leftists can't take banter or insults.
If anyone is knowledgeable about economics then I would like to see a few threads on economics. I am very ignorant of that topic and I would like to learn more.
>>135902It seems recently that there's far less mlp discussion. There's so much material to cover, 8 seasons, a movie, Equestria Girls, comics, and even fanfiction I guess but the balance on the board is leaning heavily towards pol stuff even though a new season just started. I guess it's expected considering the state of things but it's still disappointing to me that seemingly the most active mlp threads right now are "anon filly" and the general porn thread.
>>139799Keep in mind that a lot of political stuff has been happening recently, too.
>fuckerturd's trial>the most recent syria habbeding>spexitall of those have proven to be not only imprtant, but more engaging than the most recent episodes and are fresher in people's minds than the movie. Also, EqG is nohooves and there haven't been any real threads discussing fanfiction in a while or the comics ever. If you want to see it, then make a thread; the catalog has no shortage of space and it might be interesting.
It also helps to keep in mind that this site seems to alternate between pony and pol depending on the world's state and the state of the show.
