>>152You know. I've never really had a time where I've wanted to actually curse out the entire internet as a whole. The internet is such a huge ecosystem that one part or subset of it is not wholly representative of the internet itself.
If there's anybody I want to curse out, it's the following, most of which were from the 2010s:
All the fucking wannabe and actual trolls from Something Awful who went and became feminists, and then proceeded to fuck their way into political positions only to become traitors to the very country they were supposed to be looking after. They're the biggest hypocrites who scream and cry racism when back then they were calling everyone niggers, retards and faggots. They've become furries when back then they were part of the crowd that hated furries and started the furpocalypse. Everything the goons did ten years ago, is something they preach as horrible now, because they don't want to get caught. I guarantee you that they miss those days and wish they could go back to trolling and calling people niggers again.
the faux-geek hipsters who would spend more time watching television and trying to act like they were so smart, despite continuing to instigate the ostracization of actual geeks rather that trying to give us empathy or a platform to be heard.
Silicon(e) valley, and all of it's big-corpo tech that magically and inorganically became behemoths. They posture and scream that they're self-made and their successes are word of mouth, when the reality is, they're all friends of friends of people who already made it big- and those friends are the reason they used to be successful.
Big tech nowadays is seen as a necessary evil that people use because there are no good options. The trap is, once a necessary evil becomes unnecessary, it's death certificate is signed.
Adobe Software, for killing flash and causing the biggest extinction of an entire system's worth of video games- EA may be the most famous, but nobody has killed more games in one fell swoop than Adobe did.
>>2710>constant surveillance by both the government and megacorps. Normies. The endless collapsing of freedom and individuality.Okay. This is the closest I'm getting to a "Fuck you internet" moment because I see this shit more than I ever want to and it just shakes my fucking salt.
I'm not gonna deny that shit sucks compared to before, but fuck me you're preaching to the goddamn choir here and it fucking pisses me off. I was tempted to write a rant about the film, the Enemy of the State, and how the tech they use in that film was outdated, but fuck, I'm just fucking tired of this shit. I'm fucking tired of people bitching about how privacy is dead, and things are consistently getting worse, and how they do fucking everything to act like the world is going to hell in a handbasket.
The worst part about it? This shit feels like the modern manifestations of the doomsday cults of old - scream, bitch, say the sky is falling, and then some asshole comes along and tells you he has the solutions to your problem, and then leads you along, refusing to tell you any actual solution, just making promises with no payoff.
And guess what? The fucking media adopted this. The news has become a rotation of mass shootings with no context or body counts, the endless tirades of governmental incompetence, more fucking calamities that give corpos and their suited not-hyperbole-fuckbuddies excuses to raise prices on basic fucking necessities, social-justice-and-transgender-circus-bullshit that isn't even entertaining anymore, and stupid asinine orphan-grinding-machine stories you'd see on a goddamn shitty magazine.
This is my "fuck you internet" moment, because I'm so fucking tired of it. Is the world gone to shit? Maybe. Maybe not. But fuck me if you can't take your fucking ears away from the talking fucking heads who have zero financial or emotional incentive to actually tell something fucking good for once.
