>>181382>>181384>>181389I suppose it depends on where the whaling station is on the island, and whatever location is closest to it.
>>181393Yeah, we should just do it in terms of whatever is closest.
>>181382Mala smiles and wags his tail, and then nods
"Oh, I see what you are doing here."
>>181389>>181393Isn't Posey referring to within the ship?
"Assuming more of this ship isn't completely flooded, we should split up. I will start with the wheelhouse." He adopts a more stern look, and glances especially at Posey, Mala and Brie.
"Let the griffons keep their personal possessions. Anything that they choose to leave behind is free for the taking." >>181382"Ask the griffin if he considers himself to be a priest, and if he remembers casting spells while wearing the tiara."
>>181397She was referring to the island. Her priority is the marines.
She already has everything she wants from this ship
>>181398>>181399I gave ten in-game minutes for a reason. Technically speaking Cavaliere has no authority to issue orders like that, but it's a good compromise between giving the griffons a chance to pick up what they need/letting the party loot the ship and getting on with the mission already.
He interrupts the griffons' bickering.
"Sørvik, ben jij een soort geestelijke? Terwijl je onder invloed van de tiara bent, heb je een spreuk uitgesproken. Weet je nog iets van dat?" >>181369She scratched the back of her neck.
"Yeah, about that. The point of the story is that, and it's kinda of a long story anyway so we can skip head to it: At some point, I started drinking and now I'm almost an alcoholic. So while I'm embarrassed to ask this, do you have some... Wine?"
>>181403Mala shakes his head. He has a smile
"No, that isn't his plan."
>>181400Mala:
"You told them don't expect to come back, right?"
>>181405
Shush, let us grt loot. We cant carry much cuz emcumbrance anyway if gold
>>181406Brie cocks his head uncomprehendingly. He shrugs, assuming an explanatoon on that AND A WHOLE lot more, will be forthcoming before long or else hell ask again
>>181408Mala brings up his black paw and makes a movement with his mouth of "Shh." He has a smile, as if giddy to be in on a secret.
>>181398"He is not and has no recollection.">>181403He turns back to Brie.
"Then accompany one of them, and pick up what he leaves behind. Don't wait for all of them to be finished at the end of the ten minutes.">>181406"Yes, they know will have to abandon this ship."Are the griffons still bickering?
>>181402Vir cringes and looks everywhere but on Heather.
"Welllllll, I think I can survive without alcohol," Vir says.
>>181409Sense Motive: What is Mala planning, Silver wonders...
[1d20+3 = (1+3) = 4] >>181409Even through the mask, Brie's cheekbones betray his smile.
>>181410He nods in assent, then turns briskly toward the Griffons, stops, turns back to Cavaliere and briefly asks "
How does one say "lead the way" and "what is this thing?"
>>181410>"He is not and has no recollection.""Hmmm, so the cursed tiara either bestows power on the wearer, at the cost of their minds and autonomy... Or perhaps it has a mind of its own... Certainly a dangerous item..."
"Ve are losing daylight. Let us search the towns at once."
>>181409Posey joins him in a mischievous giggle.
>>181412Ha
Time to steal.
>>181410>>181408The griffins start bickering, and start moving, especially after the white one speaks to the others.
Mala explains to Brie,
"They won't leave anything small and of value behind if they think they won't have a chance to come back. If they think they will come back they will hide it. But if they think they will not, they will try to take it with them.
We could have done this from the beginning, they would have found all of the hidden things for us. They may still get more valuables in their houses."
Mala blinks, and looks over at Cavaliere.
"You're smart, Cava-caval... Mr. Garv. I can see why they brought you. I'm not a planner, but uh, I can help keep them in line while we're moving."
>>181411pet pet pet"Come inside and have some tea" she says
>>181416Comprehending, Brie will nod slowly, comprehendingly.
Ahem "Youre right Cavaliere, do you prefer mister? It would in fact be untoward to deprive the ship of anything they might wosh to retrieve at a later time, humble fishermen that they are."
>>181416That cracks open a smile across Vir's face. She reaches out and pets the other mare back.
"I... We can try. Anyway, thank you," she says and looks off to the side. "I really appreciate that you took your time one me."
>>181416>>181417Cavaliere follows closely behind the others, observing them closely. He does not share in Mala's enthusiasm.
"We are not robbers, Mala. These griffons gave up everything they had to pursue a life out at sea, and now they have to give that up, too. They cannot carry everything they want, but what they do choose to carry is to be left on their persons. What they must leave you're free to take, because better us than the communists. Do you understand?" >>181412poofHis floof makes him unreadable
>>181410His smile fades, and he slowly tilts his head. He looks down to the ground, and then back to Mr. Garv
"No?"
>>181418"I would hope you'd expect it out of anypony." She says, smiling. She stands up
"Now for tea."
Brie attempts a feint to hide, and follow behind the Griffons
He doesnt yet know he got a 1 on his hide check
>>181425>>181426A griffin turns back, and looks towards Brie
>>181422^^
Goodnight. I'm falling a sleep in my chair.
It was great fun^^
Have we decided where we're going to search next yet, or not?
Let's just as the griffons which of the locations is closest, and go from there.
>>181433"Ze zijn een beetje een vergelijkbare afstand. Het oude dorp en de vuurtoren. De vuurtoren staat op die heuvel, langs de nok van het midden van het eiland tussen de noordelijke baai en de zuidelijke baai. De vuurtoren staat langs de kust als je hem rechtdoor volgt. Het ligt op een voorgebergte in de richting van het water."
>>181432Should have put points in Gungan >>181433The white griffin slowly comes closer, and in a strange accent, asks
"Where are you from?"
We should probably go to the lighthouse first because it's on higher ground, that way we will be able to see smoke/fire that the Marines built to keep warm if they're in the town.
The lighthouse probably has provisions and comm equipment in it, and the Marines would know that. They would be predisposed to go to an official building for refuge, and as Marines their standard protocol would be to make camp on the highest possible ground when in contested territory.
>>181437"I agree. Let us go to the lighthouse."
>Should we waitWe could just roll the check for what we find, and then appraise/count the loot after we finish the mission. No real need to count shekels now.
I would like to get started in the lighthouse search tonight.
>>181439He looks around with great uncertainty.
"I am glad you came. This has been a terrible day."
>>181441Silver: "It could have been far, far worse day."
>>181444"I thought it would be until you came."
>>181443Yes... I do... I was moving to Equestria."
>>181445gasp"How do you know our names?"
>>181446Silver: "There were many notes left behind in your village. Some in Ponish we could read, others in your native languages we could not."
Silver gives the white griffon the notes they've collected.
Actually, now that I think on it, wasn't at least one of the griffons injured before they encountered them, or at least was covered in blood?
>>181446>>181447Cavaliere follows suit, and gives the notes he had stowed away in his backpack.
"Pardon the intrusion on privacy, but when we came across your camp it looked abandoned. We read your letters to better understand what happened."And yes, they had stab wounds.
>>181447The yellow one is described as such, but the white one has visible blood stains as well.
He looks at the note
"My letters... I thought Olaf had destroyed them. It looks like he tried to."
>>181448"Oh, that makes sense, I guess."
>>181443"He did."
>>181449Correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that its been confirmed that the captain remembers fuckall but put the crown on, went eldritch crazy,... involuntarily.
Does Brie need to roll a check to connect that the crown may have mind controlled the captain possibly without it even being in his possession?
>>181450The crown mind controlled the captain... without it being near the captain?
>>181450>>181451Brie definitely doesn't know griffons well enough.
>>181450He found a cursed crown, and put it on because that's what people do when they find jewelry.
Then it mind controlled him.
>>181449Silver: "He did not try very well if he did. I would have thrown them in outhouse or something to that effect. We saw there was pistol and bottle in there." Silver looks over at his blood stains. "Are any of you injured? Do you need one of us yo take look over you?"
>>181455Probably immediately after he found it.
>>181454"The bottle... Olaf probably dropped one. Or hid it maybe. He tried to hide his alcoholism. A gun? Maybe that was Ingerstadt? I missed that part.
Yes, several of us are wounded. I've been stabbed... I think what happened was... the wounds were chilled and dried with salt to stop the bleeding."
>>181455Brie can ask in-character if he wants, the other PCs all have a pretty good idea from the letters they read.
>>181457I checked and his name is Egerstadt."That would explain all the blood in the curing shack. We had thought one of you were murdered in there." >>181456Im not asking for probably, Im asking - in detail and in character if needs be - where was the crown found, etc etc.
This is weird shit to Brie, hes not used to being surprised.
Brie expressly asked in character for an account from the captain if remembered, an account from the crew surrounding, and the other non-loot question was answered
>>181458scrunch"I'm almost surprised we were not. It was brutal..."
>>181459>hes not used to being surprisedRolling to sneak up behind Brie, and surprise him
Move silently
[1d20+9 = (9+9) = 18]Intimidate
[1d20+15 = (19+15) = 34]".......... BOO!"
>>181457Silver: "If you will permit us, we can have look over your injuries. I do not believe we are so strapped for time that we can not tend to some wounded griffons. You all may end up moving more swiftly as well while patched up."
>>181463"Yes." He nods. He moves his jacket to show what appears to be a stab wound. The wound itself cannot be seen, but a shirt tightly wrapped around it that is soaked in blood, can be.
>>181465We could just have the Cleric heal them.
Cure minor woulds should stop the bleeding. What's he using lvl 0 slots for?
>>181462Youd have to roll a bluff check opposed by spot to do that
>>181464Heal: With the current absence of our resident zeeb, Silver takes up combat medic duties, tending to the white griffon's wounds to the best of his abilities.
[1d20+5 = (8+5) = 13] >>181463Brie clears his throat more than obviously at the mention of healing
>>181470The wound seems mostly competently handled for now. It could use more pressure though, to make sure that the wound coagulates and does not come apart as they move.
>>181472Seems simple enough to take care of. A fresh bandage, tightly tied, and a dose of antiseptic to prevent infection should be enough to tide him over.
>>181471What all is ailing the bat? I know there was the Sound Burst, but was there anything else causing him problems?
>>181475The sound burst that did 8 dmg to the hollow-boned (it was a dice roll, but still) bat
>>181473I'll get you next time...
>>181470>>181476"Ooh, that's some serious damage, could become gangrenous. I recommend immediate euthanasia."
(Posey went to medical school in horse Canada)
>>181478Oh, we're not done. Brie is gonna bluff that he doesnt notice
[1d20+5 = (8+5) = 13] >>181478>euthanasia[1d20+8 = (3+8) = 11] Is this statement ironic, comedic, or something else?
>>181480Rosey sees Brie's head tilt as she moves, shes made
>>181481It is Posey's professional opinion based on her medical certification, and has nothing to do with being a death-worshipping necromancer.
[1d20+14 = (2+14) = 16] >>181478>>181476Silver rolls his eyes and chuckles at Posey's statement before talking with Brie. "Do not mind her, she likes to mess with others. She tried doing something similar with me earlier today, talking about that fruit having hidden consequences or some such."
>>181483[1d20+3 = (14+3) = 17] >>181483Yeah he cant detect anything spoopy
>>181484>beat by 1You suspect Posey might have some Canadian in her... Spooky
>>181486Just an off sense of humor. Not added to the list he will ask about
>>181490That's also a lot of extra work for the DM, for a bunch of shitposts
>>181490>>181492>>181494I can tone it down, but theres no threat of this spiralling outward cuz context, and Posey and I are trying to find a way to mesh our player styles.
Like kittens, it looks like fighting, but we're learning to play together (again)
>>181490Silver: "Fruit from Tree of Life."
Yes, he says this quite casually.
>>181497Nah, I can tell there's nothing hostile going on between you two at the moment, just having some fun shitposting and messing with each other. Please, carry on.
>>181499Sense motive to see if Silver is pulling his leg.
[1d20+11 = (16+11) = 27]Knowledge: Arcana if it is at all related to the concept:
[1d20+5 = (1+5) = 6]>>181497>>181499I agree, this is far preferable to how it used to be already >>181503While I can't speak for Cavaliere's knowledge, Silver seems to be genuine in his statement.
>>181422Vir nods and then force a smile.
"Yes, let's get some... Tea."
She proceeds to follow Heather's lead.
>>181357This appears to have assuage any misgivings that Dark Star had
"I See, things might not be as bleak as i thought."
He smiles
"Thanks, Sir."
