The main part of the party in Mended Horn is wrapping up a matter at an Abandoned Whaling/Sealing station... somewhat. Virgin Flame has made her return and is celebrating with exercise and tea after recovering an important marble statue head and vanquishing several amoebas in the process.

Krr, the potential tea tray ring out as Vir places her tea cup on it.

"Okay," she says and nods absentmindedly before moving her full attention to Heather. "I-I wish to stay here. Just- Just for a short while. While I'm looking for my sister."

The chair creaks against the wooden floor as Vir stands up. She tosses the hem of her tan cloak so flips up on her back. The cloak is actually relatively thick and the hem reveals it to consist of three different fabrics, or three different cloaks, sewn together. The inside one is of lavender color. She lifts up her hoof and flex it's biceps muscle? Or something, anyway, her hoof goes from being somewhat unassuming to mold into a mound of statue-eque thickness. But then she looks up with pleading eyes as if she's mere foal asking her mom for cute stuffed animal she saw in the store.

"I'm not good with words but I can move stuff."

Heather takes a moment to look down at the strong, presumably thin limbs of the muscular mare.

She pets the poor mare’s mane, moving her hair to make sure she doesn’t cover Vir’s eyes.

“I.. believe we have an extra bed here. There’s a room for Vibrant Ray that he doesn’t use. I suppose it can be used by a mare in need. We’ve lent it out to those in need before, after all.”

He pauses for a moment.

“I have seen them since. I’ve seen them walking around the rooms, at least once. Twice I think. But more importantly I’ve seen them in the bar. I know the cream colored one has asked for you, but more so there was an incident. They both sat down and ordered food. Like a couple burgers and fries. When it came time to pay they both frantically searched around and didn’t have money. To me it looked like they genuinely thought they had money; I assumed that if they wanted to dine and dash they would have just left. But they said they were with you and said where you lived. They basically said to put it on your tab, which was fine since I knew they were with you and you’re a partial owner. I’m sorry, I thought they were your mistresses you were keeping here away from your marefriend. Okay well if you say that isn’t what they are then that isn’t what they are, but I figured they were… rescues? Is that how to put it? Like stray dogs you feed and they stay around. But yeah. I don’t know if they are here now. They have left at least a couple times I think.”

Taking 10 isn't retrying. It's doing something carefully in a non-stressful situation.
>When your character is not being threatened or distracted, you may choose to take 10. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, calculate your result as if you had rolled a 10. For many routine tasks, taking 10 makes them automatically successful. Distractions or threats (such as combat) make it impossible for a character to take 10. In most cases, taking 10 is purely a safety measure —you know (or expect) that an average roll will succeed but fear that a poor roll might fail, so you elect to settle for the average roll (a 10). Taking 10 is especially useful in situations where a particularly high roll wouldn’t help.
Only one try is made

Retrying over and over is taking 20.
>Taking 20 means you are trying until you get it right, and it assumes that you fail many times before succeeding. Taking 20 takes twenty times as long as making a single check would take.

A shudder runs down Vir's back as a memory of waking up to the splashing of Delamare river on its bank and hitting her head on the underside of its bridge. She rembered how the tips of her hooves had gone numb, the one part of her she hadn't been able to fit under her cloak. She also recounts the taste of alcohol induced womit in her mouth.

Vir jumps up in Heather's face like an big affectionate dog. She pulls Heather and her cute pony forelegs into her embrace as they both stand only on their backlegs.

"~Hello, chauve-souris au fromage." She says, still walking
She levitates her satchel with her magic, and from it produces five Easter eggs.
"Chances are that we will not make it off this island without fighting, so I think believe you might like to have these." She says, levitating one of the eggs
"Eggshell Dust Grenades. Alchemical weapons of the ninja from the east, crafted by my maste- I mean Mentor. Throw them directly at your target, and they will be blinded for long enough for you to take advantage of them. I believe you might fancy them."
"These are all I have with me, and I do not have the skills to replace them. However, I could be persuaded to part with them, if you would do me a favor."
Her unseen servant opens her satchel, and she produces several items.
"As a freehorn warmagus, it is often that I get paid in avant garde ways. I am not versed in the currency of this country. Would you please tell me what the following items are worth in gold bits? I am trying to open a business, so I need to count my assets. We do not do the paper money thing where I come from."
The items are
>Hyena Totem (magic item)
>Hyena Mask (magic item)
>Gold Bracelet (the one from the Crocutta apartment)
>Gold necklace
>Gold Bangle
>Clip of magic bullets
>Second clip of magic bullets
>Magic Crystal that was attached to a magic rifle
>186 dollarydoos
>24 Thalers
>38 Abyssinian Birrs

I've had these items for a long time, and I have no idea what they're worth. I asked what their value was a while ago, but GM was occupied, so I didn't get their value. I have no ranks in appraise, so I can't appraise the value of exotic items (basically all magic items).
